What's your best global position?

What is the best global position you have reached in Wipeout HD? The best I managed was 1st on Tech De Ra Reverse Time Trials on Venom and Rapier. However, now I've been knocked down to 2nd. What about you guys?

Those are mostly Flash and Rapier MP races though. I had a #1 speed lap and time trial for a while but no longer...

Is there a particular reason you ask? Or are you just looking to get an idea of how far along forum members are. I shall write some stuff on the general topic anyway, just to bore people. Nice way to do the poll with those bandings, btw.

I remember the feeling of my first top 10. One of the best things about this game for me is being able to see the reward for your efforts as you climb the rankings. Then, once you get near the top, it's super competitive and you can have some great 'battles' without needing to blow anyone up. I'm sure it's as competitive all the way up and down the rankings, but it's more obvious to me near the top; mainly because of people posting videos and the the online rankings/sites that make it easy to see when the big names have improved, and which track the French are pwning this week. It really adds a whole different dimension to video games for me, as I've never bothered with rankings before. I say 'video games' as if I mean anything other than WipEout, but actually, I still only care about improving my ranking in WipEout. This is another reason why Connavar's site is great, because you can see where to improve and visualise your achievement in becoming a better player. Without that site I think I would have reached a plateau completely a long time ago.

I reached 8th in Zone Amphiseum over a week ago, but nobody knows because the Zone leaderboards haven't updated for the past few weeks.

If only the leaderboards were as reliable as my pizza.

I had a few top spots early on in the multiplayer race tables, but that was a long time ago. Still hover in the top 30 on most tracks though

When the Fury pack came out I managed to get a few top 10 times and at my peak 4 number one spots. I wasn't and still aren't good enough to maintain them, but I think I'm still clinging to a couple of 3s and 4s somewhere and a few top 20s. Like Saturn said, after you get a good time it's hard to keep it. The hardest part of getting a number 1 time is staying there.

I used to have around 7 or 8 top 10 times in SL & TT [till connavar came and smashed them all ],but that was a LONG LONG time ago when HD first came out.

It's got really competitive now, with the insane BR specialists 1 or 2 seconds in front of a huge pack of very good racers all separated by fraction of a second.

I have about 10 top 10 times, the best being rank #3 I think on some multiplayer race. Pretty sure it's something like TJ< Flash?

But yeah, getting a top 10 time is always a good feeling. I'd love to get a #1, but I think I'm a bit off from reaching that level... for the moment, anyway

well my PB (on connavars list) is TT on TJ would be #6 if it would let me edit my time. my PB on multiplayer is about #15

no.1 sebenco>>/rapier/mp 1.42.3x. was no.1 on übermall>>/flash/mp b4 fury came out. a long time ago i was no.1 on sebenco>>/venom/mp with qirex! all my other no.1s re offline TTs or SLs (just 5, i think).

I was in the top ten on TDR in zone but that was a couple of months ago now. Had ago at TT on modesto heights and cracked top 100 so i voted that.

got a few top spots but only venom and flash SL/TT and 1 multiplayer. i got my first no.1 in barnsters racing multiplayer, its a good feelin but i was gutted that one was under his name lol i remember battling with leungbok n barnster for V/F AP rev top spot, every time i checked the rankings one of us had beat the other.

My best was Moa therma forward Venom speed lap 25th, but got knocked down quite a bit since then I believe. I was using Piranha and actually failed a Barrel Roll
I never managed to do it that well since, blame my inconsistent piloting.

I heard a rumour that he's given up on that now (as if he was ever serious anyway ), and another rumour that Zone was obviously never his intention, because he fails at it so hard.:- What a noob!

Instead I shall be a world famous rockstar within 5 years. (Disclaimer: That's not true either.)
