Having to watch its inexorable progression toward you when you have no weapon, knowing full well that you're doomed makes them one of the most earth shatteringly depressing things ever in a WipEeout game....
I love them to bits though

Hah, you weren't there in the days of Pulse or PurE even (I wasn't on PurE) so welcome to one of the oldest and fan favourite techniques
I'd forgotten about the ability to fire them backwards in WO3. I guess it's the frequency of having to deal with them now that the AI regularly churns them out and that the flip is so accessible that makes them so much more of a problem.
p.s. looks like my newness on the forum makes me look a bit of a newbie but I've played every WipEout, other than WipEout 64 and the new PS2 port of Pulse, to death since Psygnosis first put the original one out back when I was supposed to be studying for my degree
Sorry xD
Welcome anyways
*Fires a backquake*
Hi Stever, welcome on board. Can`t wait to see what a Quake looks like coming towards me in HD. Not too often though I hope.
Oh the memories. Long live backwards Quakes!
Nothing quite beats the feeling of beeing in front of a pack of wipers and sending a backwards quake. I love it!
Leungbok joined this forum last year, questioning is backwards quakes are technique of cheating, lol.
Tripel_Lei is the man to thank for reverse qaukes, no hold on, zargz is actually.
Don`t forget Stin and the vital part he played in the invention of backquakes
Like a tree falling in an empty forest, if a backquake is sent around Moa Therma and nobody eats it in the face then did it really happen?
