    Default Big problem

I just got Army of Two: The 40th Day today, put it in, and my ps3 won't read the disc. I tried with a couple other games, and it just will NOT read discs for some reason. I can still play downloaded games fine, but no disc games. What do I do?!?!

Ask yeldar2097. He just had the same problem and managed to fix it all by himself.

P.S. If yeldar asks - I'm not here.

Sounds like your Blu-Ray drive has broken. Downloaded games are working fine as they do not need to be "read" like a disc does when playing them.

Me no. But as told Saturn, yeldar just bought one. I think when he will see that, he will write something

Well unless you already know, you're going to have to find out the type of laser your PS3 is using (mine has a KES-400AAA).
If you can find out for sure which one you have (maybe searching for your model number then checking it up on t'internet) then you can go ahead and buy one.
You're in the US so you won't buy from the same place as me but here's what I bought.

If you don't know the laser model (or want to make sure like me ) then you will have to open up the BD-Brive of your machine and check from there.

When you buy a laser you can buy just the laser itself or you can buy the laser + carriage/mech. I'd advise buying the laser + mech...much easier to replace the whole unit and less risk of buggering-up the installation.

    The instructions I used

    Any questions?

Looking @ what you linked... I'm pretty sure that's what I need... since it's an old 40gig hand-me-down ps3. Gonna take it apart to be sure. Thanks though, hopefully this works.

yeah gotta be sure. I assume yours is a NTSC version and not a PAL one....No harm in checking, you can clean some of the dust out while you're at it (I had LOADS of it)
