i wonder how much this addon will cost hmmm maybe $10 bucks cause i dont think it would be more expensive than the game itself lol

a little less I think, but not by much.. How cares... Its gonna rock
Most expensive DLC I've seen is $19.95AU for the Burnout BCS Addon, or the PoP Epilogue for $15.95AU, so I'm guessing it'll be around that.

The new developer diary is up, no release date...
I don't mind the lack of release date am just glad its getting publicised!
At the same time with the publicity ramping up you have to say it can't be long now!
Were there ever any television ads for Wipeout HD?
It has never seemed to get the attention it deserves.
Egg:
"No. Pulse tracks are designed for Pulse physics - plus other things, tags and triggers which are set-up specifically within the tracks, would not work from Pure to Pulse.
My one regret regarding the ships is that I would have loved to have added a more 'layered' visual structure to them. Wings over plates over fins, layered over a visible chassis covered with nice complicated pipework, weapon pods and blinking lights.
As it turned out, it didn't work visually on the PSP screen (too small, fiddly and 'smeary'), and would have presented too many problems for customisation. The only things that remain from my experiments are the blinking nav-lights and the visible pilot.
I would've liked to see a grid full of engineers and floating robot thingies before a race, too. Sadly, we just didn't have time (or memory) for those sort of niceties."
Just saw this oldish (December 2007!) post from Egg on the WipEout Pulse section, looks like he got his way with the ship designs in the Fury pack...
[technical discussion]
SL did some experiments using shadow maps in HD, I guess, but they reverted
back (?) to pre-baked lightmaps to shadow the environment. Those few blocky
shadows you can see in HD are essentially not optimised shadow maps. For some
reasons they were left in the game.
The jaggies also depend on how you look at the shadows (camera direction vs.
light direction). But I don't think that the shadows get any better atm.
Perhaps SL wanted to speak out 'the truth' about their new technique; 'That's
what you'll get at worst, but in general the shadows look much better'. Yes,
they do. Watch the Fury trailer.
Judging from the (60fps) trailer, Fury's shadows do not flicker. And I have
to say that new shadows look quite good for a game that also runs in 1080p at
60fps, especially those coming from each craft which are likely computed
at a higher resolution in comparison to those cast by the soundings. But this
does not hold for Zone Battle, which uses rather lower resolution shadows.
Not me. I like them.
That's because you don't follow any interest in computer graphics (/ science?)
and likewise in the the methods / algorithms used to actually implement things
like shadows and stuff. Right? You have to know, shadows are not an easy
thing to do (because of their global dependence) and they are usually
an expensive part in any rendering equation. So it's quite interesting to see
how SL has dealt with all the trade-offs and how they finally arrived at a
satisfying solution. If you don't care, not my problem.
The RETURN button is easy to understand, sure, but it would read BACK. The
referred Feisar logo is actually a scaled down version of the bigger one,
rendered wrong and blurry due to down-scaling. And "does not match even
remotely" refers to the difference in sharpness / coloring / contrast &
brightness, and how both sides are actually represented with respect to each
other.
You mean the texture details, right? Could be true. From my point of view
the overall texture quality / details for the new tracks don't match up with
those of HD either. Some (most?) textures look a bit muddy, which obviously
saves video memory ... to be used for the shadow maps? Who knows....

Fury pwns!

It`s a good thing they`re adding in a few of my favorite tracks, and including Eleminator.
makes me wonder sometimes just what we'd get if we let these people have all the time they want. Maybe it's good they're time pressed? Maybe that saves us an extra year, or two, or three in some cases where it might only end up being just a "little" better; whereas trying to wrap up to a specific date would get us basically the same thing and a hell of a lot earlier.
The artistry side of me wants to say let them take however long they need to in order to give us the best game possible. But the realist in me says I just wouldn't be able to take it. Look at what Fury's release is doing to me.
Go and see your trophy list.
Yes, the fury trophies are out now. So, the release is coming up soon, don't you think?
EDIT: Oops, i saw now the post where everybody talk about them.

Fingers crossed this thurs
Even though he says the Announcement will come from.. uhm.. whoever he had mentioned, I get the feeling they'll come on here and say: "It's out today!!!".
usually, when the trophies are up, it takes a week ...maybe two till release. For example :
- The trophies for LBP(Metalgear pack) were 1 week before release visible.
- Burnout paradise expansions were 1 week before release visible.
- Pain Sore Spots were 1 week before release visible.
All during the weekend, usually late Friday. I think its common, only difference with these packs is that they did have a release date...and Fury has nothing. Fingers crossed.
I really hope it is this week!
Also, does anyone know if the new ship models will have multiple skin types that you can unlock? thanks
yes, each new ship will have a default skin and two more to unlock.
thats a relief, i really hated the new ags skin i saw on videos and screen shots
Thanks Bartgai - can't wait.
The ships do sort of look a bit like armadillos now compared to HD
