Still locked on Zone67 on Moa, still yet to get zues on Moa. Just thinking Zone Zues should be possible on Vertica.... if that was a track on HD.

Got exams next two weeks, so any new attempts on Zone Zues Moa Therma and Zico Analpha Pass are going to be called off to later on in the month

Kigo - now whats more important.....doing exams or playing Wipeout. You really need to get your priorities right young man !!

In all seriousness, good luck with them, sure you will do fine.

Damn, im still yet to get Zico done, on either of my accounts. Done Zone Zeus on both accounts, just not Zico. That tediously slow venom speed just gives me the incredible shiits, after like 2laps of it, doing 100laps of it would drive me to insanity, i simple dont have the concentration for those stupid speeds.

If i use both airbrakers in straight, the speed decreases?
    Anyone use this trick?

No that does not work in Zone. Holding both airbrakes can do this in other modes, but not in Zone.

The speed doesn't decrease, the acceleration is simply a bit slower.

Seriously? Do you know by how much margin you can improve your zone/score by doing this as much as you can?

I can tell you exactly. The gain is 0.
With respect to the score, the most important thing in ZONE is a perfect
lap. Doing perfect laps is a bit easier in lowers zones, right? Hence, as long
as the number of zones is low you have to run around the track as fast as
possible (using every speed pad) such that you can do a lot of perfect laps
until it becomes a bit more difficult. Further, pulling both airbrakes at
higher speeds will almost always offsets the craft for the worse. But there
is something to slow down the craft for a brief moment worth considering.
Once you get air-time the craft slows down considerably at very high
speeds (zones). In some situation this can be very helpful.

    Makes sense!

And if you're trying to achieve maximum zone? Would it help then?

    no, it wont,

because reaching a Zone is being able to handle your craft at this speed.
braking for a moment won't help you to pass the turns that will come in next few seconds!
remember, its less that 2 zones a lap, mabe 1 at higher zones! by saving 2 seconds like this on the overpass, you will not gain any zone if you crash in the narrow section on AP for exemple.

at least, it can help you finishing a perfect zone befor hitting the wall but you have no control on where on the track a zone starts and finish so...

    This.

Additionally, at a given high enough speed, the slow down due to the
airbrakes makes no real noticeable difference. The time one needs to
pull both airbrakes and to readjust the craft after this action will send
    you right into a wall.

    @Spece2goin: True dat is.

Btw; I know perfectly where a zone starts and ends. Have you ever
watched the 'moving dots' on the HUD? They show you how close you
are to the next zone. Further, the 'ZONE' writing flashes whenever you
did a perfect zone. I always keep an (indirect) eye on both things. It's
essential for various reasons like shield, points, psyche,....

i just noticed the dots last week, on my attemps to Zeus!
i wish they were bigger and RED, and this part of the HUD not going out of the screen when taking a pad.
Better if it's easier to see you have only 2s to go to have your 10 shield points back before rubbing the wall, if not, the 1 point for touching the side is like 11...

that doesn't change the fact that slowing your ship on the straight line won't be efficient each lap, but only if it can make you stand till the end of the current zone.
