Default Xylem, Phloem, Argon, Xenon by CoLD SToRAGE

EDIT: User error, I was able to successfully play back the music after all. Thanks anyway!

These neat little music tracks, as featured in WIPE'OUT" XL/2097, were played during the "Xtro" video sequences whenever a player advanced a major level.

They are kindly made available as .mp3's on the CoLD SToRAGE free music download page http://www.coldstorage.org.uk/music.html.

However, I am starting to archive all of my WIPE'OUT" music collection as full-quality .WAVs ('cause I'm OCD like that) and I have been encountering difficulty pulling the music from the game disc files.

    The files are:
    XTRO1.AV
    XTRO2.AV
    XTRO3.AV
    XTRO4.AV

Additionally, there is the intro sequence featuring the edit of "Herd Killing" by FSOL as:
    MAKE.AV

In my searches I've turned up a couple discussions regarding these files and music tracks.
Here on WipeoutZone, this discussion http://wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=156 describes a util called PSMPlay that will open these .AV files (which are said to actually be .STR files). PSMPlay V0.4 did not work for me. It reported that it was an unsupported file format. Renaming the .AV's to .STR's did not change that error.
A discussion here http://forums.ngemu.com/misc-psx-dis...help-guys.html talked about the difficulty working with the files. I've also tried utils called PSound, PSXPlay, and PSXv with no success.

I am going on the assumption that these files have high-quality uncompressed audio but indeed they might be compressed anyway.

Any hints on cracking these nuts?

    Thanks so much.
