    Default XL/2097 soundtrack in woHD

This might not be news for anyone - but anyway :

I just remembered that the soundtrack for Wipeout 2097 is stored as regular CD-tracks on the gamedisc, which means you can pop your Wipeout 2097 disc in the PS3, rip it and make a playlist - and voila; Firestarter in Wipeout HD! Goes nicely with the alternative 2097 HUD.

    Default oops..

Sorry about that! Maybe a moderator could change it to OST in the title? Wouldn't want to give anyone false hopes about new tracks. (I know I would be dissappointed!)

I've incorporated Wipeout, Wipeout 2097/XL, Wipeout 3, Fusion, Pure and Pulse soundtracks onto my PS3.

Not to mention truckloads of other music.

I would have stopped playing this game long ago if not for the custom soundtracks. (would have gone nuts after 100+ hours with the original music)

I have the soundtracks to wipeout, wipeout2097, 64, fusion, pure on my ps3, as well as underworld dubnobasswithmyheadman and a couple of orbital albums.
By cherrypicking from those I am pretty happy with my playlist now the only problem I have is that underworld - cowgirl is too quiet, and I wish there was a way to assign certain songs to certain game modes.
some of them are epic to race to, but only if it's enough laps to really get going (cowgirl being a good example)

for other Wipeout music in HD, I have:
    Wipeout PSX
    Wipeout Saturn exclusive tracks
    Wipeout: The Music soundtrack
    Wipeout XL PSX
Wipeout XL Saturn exclusive CoLD SToRAGE only tracks
    Wipeout XL soundtrack
    Wipeout 64 music
    Wipeout 3 PSX
    Wipeout Pure soundtrack
    CoLD SToRAGE HD

But sometimes that's way too many options, so I made a single playlist with just CoLD SToRAGE music on it to kind of keep a consistent racing atmoshphere

I have the USA (NTSC) version of Wipeout XL for Playstation, and I popped the disc into my computer.

Here is what the CDDB says is on the disc:

We Have Explosive - Herd Killing (Future Sound Of London)
    Landmass (Future Sound Of London)
    Atombomb (Fluke)
    V6 (Fluke)
    Dust Up Beats (Chemical Brothers)
    Loops Of Fury (Chemical Brothers)
    The Third Sequence (Photek)
    Tin There (Underworld)
    Firestarter (Prodigy)
    Canada (Cold Storage)
    Body In Motion (Cold Storage)

Now I know the Sega Saturn version of the game had some different tracks - I think by Cold Storage - that the PSX version did not have.

I also know that the Wipeout XL/2097 Soundtrack CD (that was sold in stores) didn't have all the same songs as the game!

Random FYI - Wipeout, XL/2097 and Wipeout 3 - at least the Playstation discs - the music was regular CD format, and could be played in a CD player and/or ripped to MP3. (which is what I did to copy it over to Wipeout HD) So if you want the tuns from any of those games - just pop them into your computer.

    WOXL PSX USA:
We Have Explosive - Herd Killing (Future Sound Of London)
    Landmass (Future Sound Of London)
    Atombomb INSTRUMENTAL (Fluke)
    V6 (Fluke)
    Dust Up Beats (Chemical Brothers)
    Loops Of Fury (Chemical Brothers)
    The Third Sequence (Photek)
    Tin There (Underworld)
    Firestarter (Prodigy)
    Canada (Cold Storage)
    Body In Motion (Cold Storage)

    WOXL/2097 Saturn Japanese and European:
    Kin Kong
    Plasticity
    Messij XTND
    Canada
    Body In Motion
    Tenation
    Surgeon
    Body Plus
    Hakapik Murder
    Messij RCVD
    --all by CoLD SToRAGE

    WOXL/2097 CD Soundtrack (Astralwerks)
    We Have Explosive - FSOL
    Atom Bomb - Fluke
Loops of Fury - Chemical Brothers
    Tin THere - Underworld
    The Third Sequence - Photek
Leave Home (Underworld Edit) - Chemical Brothers
We Have Explosive (Herd Killing) - FSOL
    Firestarter (Instrumental) - Prodigy
    V6 - Fluke
    Musique - Daft Punk
    2097 - Source Direct
    Titan - Photek
    P.E.T.R.O.L. - Orbital
    Afro Ride - LeftField

Some of the stuff included in the WOXL Soundtrack CD were songs from the European version of Wipeout 1 on PSX, because the licensed music never made it into the USA version.

I don't know the specific track listing of WO2097 PAL for PSX.

In the European and USA version of WO1 for Saturn, neither region got the licensed music, and "Transvaal" was removed as well (terrible song), but the Saturn version got three exclusive tracks:

    Brickbat
    Planet 9
    Poison
---all by Rob Lord & Mark Bandola, better known as "PC MUSIC" from Wipeout 64

Wipeout XL/2097 allegedly for PC allegedly received a single extra song by CoLD SToRAGE, called "God's Gift." I don't have the PC version to verify, but upon testing the game with the song, I though it was fitting

Saturn Wipeout XL/2097 got an extended remix of Body in Motion which was allegedly exclusive.

I have saturn 2097, but I don't have it handy to check on Body in Motion

There's no track called God's Gift on the PC version. The track list is:
    Body in Motion
    Canada
    Hakapik Murder
    Plasticity
    Messij Received
    Surgeon
    Tenation
    Messij xtnd
    Kingkong

    2097 pal/psx is as follows:
    FSOL - We Have Explosive
    FSOL - Landmass
Fluke - Atom Bomb (Straight 6 Instrumental)
    Fluke - V6
Chemical Brothers - Dust Up Beats
Chemical Brothers - Loops of Fury
    Photek - The Third Sequence
Underworld - Tin There (Underworld Edit)
    Prodigy - Firestarter (Instrumental)
    Cold Storage - Canada
Cold Storage - Body in Motion

it seems strange to me that each artist is grouped, and I don't actually have the disc at this location to verify... but I'm pretty sure that's right

Need to be careful what mix you get of a few of those tracks

    atom_bomb_(straight_6_instrumental_mix)
    tin_there_(underworld_edit)
    firestarter_(instrumental)
