I heard Miles Dyson has indeed invented a faulty Terminator at Skynet Kigo... they coulda had the worlds best combat soldiers but decided to invest in Microsoft technologies - Now they got a Terminator which says "Hasta la Vista... vista... vista... ****! I'll be back... error! error! error!"

    Skynet, humph!!!

haha good one! What a knob that old man is... I just cant understand why top gear put an oafish, technophobic moron inside of a state of the art sports car for us to listen to his quasi-idiotic opinions... yes, it's entertaining blubber but hardly useful info.

IMO, If someone had linked a pic of Clarkson in this thread, that woulda got a giggle outta me... the guy just looks a mess... At least he aint James May, that would suck!

I've recently moved house and it still doesn't work. New BT line, new ISP, and I even updated the router firmware because it was quite old.

It's beyond our control. The hope and worry is whether Fury will work? If it does, great - job done. But if they have discovered a fix for Fury why aren't we getting a patch?

I really think it's time for us to try contacting a respected publication/site to see if they'll run the story. SL just aren't bothered because our number is too small. If not for this forum we'd be in the cold, making futile attempts to converse with SCEE. The threat of bad PR seems like the only course of action after six months of being ignored.

    (Fury's a good name.)

    Thanks mate.

That's a real turn-up for the books; I'd given up hope ages ago. I didn't expect anything after a full six months of being affected.

    hey all,

signed up for this site cause im kind of at my wits end trying to get online with Wipeout HD/Fury. i was able to get online up until several months ago. tried searching online for solutions but to no avail.

in a nutshell, im getting the dreaded "Network Error - there was an error contacting the server" msg whenever i try to login to wipeout to play an online match. mind you ALL of my other PS3 games i can play online with no problem, it seems to be only this game that is vexing me.

what i've already tried to do to remedy the situation:

logging off psn at the xmb, starting wipeout then logging in through the game - error from PSN saying i can't login - error 80710b23 - yet as soon as i quit the game, my ps3 logs into PSN with no problems.

creating 2nd psn account to start from scratch - network error

reinstalling the game entirely from scratch - in this order:
    wipeout hd demo
    unlock code
    2.01 patch
    fury addon

after this reinstall, i still cannot login to play any online matches. this time around i dont get the network error screen - after 2 or 3 minutes of the game thinking about whether it wants to log me in or not, it just boots me back to the main menu.

here's the specs of my machine:

Game region version [EU or what]: USA
Game update number [downloaded fixes]: 2.01 Fury
    Firmware version: 2.80
Console version and harddrive size: PS3 40 GB
    Custom soundtrack, yes or no:no
Controller type: DualShock 3 Six Axis
    Options settings:
Track [if any] where error occurs:
Online/Offline: Network Error, can't get online, error 80710b23, etc - can get online with all other PSN and PS3 games.

    PSN ID - bluermlou

any one have ideas on how i can get this fixed? im just at every level of frustration you can imagine with this game right now.

    thanks.

    Question

Well I can't get online at all at the moment, is the network down for wipeout fury or are other people still able to connect to the online play?

So are you able to get online at the moment or aren't you? I can't tell what you mean from that, sorry

Edit: I just noticed the trophies I had are gone as well, in the trophy cabinet bit on the playstation menus. What the ****? lol

Edit 2:Guess I was being an idiot, the trophies are still there but I still connect to online play or view global records

Might be a new patch/firmware/maintence on the PSN servers. Just go have a nap or watch some TV for an hours and try again
