Minimum bandwidth?
Hey,
Does anyone know what the minimum bandwidth requirement is for WOHD? I'm a firefighter and late at night I've got nothing to do but sit and watch TV waiting for a fire run. I thought I'd take my PS3 into work (we have a 72" DLP) and play Wipeout but I'm not sure it will work well online. At home I've got a 10Mbps connection and that seems fine. I've never had trouble with my online experience. However at work we have a 756Kbps connection. Will that be enough to play online?

As long as it's broadband it should work. No harm done in testing it out

The most likely problem would be lag-- so that other racers seem to be bouncing around all over the place, because the PS3 is extrapolating their position as best it can given the limited data it is receiving. Likewise you may be bouncing all over the track on other players' screens.
Back in the day some folks would do this on the DS, apparently they figured out how to generate a wifi signal based on 56k phone modem.
The only thing I would worry about is whether it might irritate other players, especially in closely-matched races.

Actually, 756kbps downspeed should be fine - what's more important is your upload speed. Usually 756k lines only have an upload of 128kbps, and that would definitely cause some lag. However, if it's a business line with equal up/down-rate of 756, you should have no trouble playing online.

What is your connection speed, KIGO? You seem to play successfully online.
