It wouldn't surprise me. I think there are other methods on offer. I had one or two ideas, but wasn't good enough to test them well. They probably weren't faster anyway. I look forward to seeing anything new pirahpac comes up with.

Well arithmetic allows a better time than that, just by taking mine or pirahpac's best laps and doing that 5 times. Then he may have mastered the double barrel roll on the long left. You can do 3 on that corner as well, but it's hard and I never tried to make it work properly so don't know if it's fast, probably not. I think the track also has certain subtleties that could be changed, despite being counter intuitive. Whether any of them offers a faster method I don't know, I'm not good enough to be one of the pioneers like that.

If he used Fury Icaras then that would definitely give a slight edge, based on my experimentation with it. Ultimately, Elois can be crazy consistent, so it doesn't surprise me too much, whatever ship he used.

ok my bad...should have expected it i guess: I think there must be something wrong with Elois - He's....just.....too....damned....fast....gahhhhhh hh

Last time I raced him I beat him (with many turbos ) so I think I may just leave the room if I see him again. So much for Pilots' honour

@Sat: Pacman told me to tell you that his method is the same but he just found a faster way of taking the long left-hander (still only the one BR at the end). It's all in the left-hander apparently...He gave me details on how he did it but I'm not quite sure I understood what he was getting at. I'll give it a whirl and see whether or not I'm anywhere near the correct end of the stick

sat and pirhapac shift twice round it i think, i cant break the habit of tapping air brake then shifting once onto the pad. i find i only land the double br if my lines off, so i never gain any extra time.

    time to rethink my approach.

True, and it's the case on every tracks. TT aren't totally perfect races, even the best ones ! Pulling all the BRs isn't sufficient, lines should be perfect also, and timing too (for airbraking & sideshifting). Speedlaps are closer to perfection but they aren't totally ! Always little improvements to do and find. Maybe major finds (big shortcuts, new BR combos...) will be more and more scarce, but new lines (tenths to gain sometimes), new places where sideshifting advantageously will be found 'till end of times ^^

That's the method Pirhapac used for his new time - no rethink required

Then how on earth does he nail a double br????

    Surely you either -
    A) Hug the left wall as much as you can, or
    B) Drift slightly out to the right to give you more room to attempt a double br.

I did notice while experimenting last night with different lines that you can hit a double br in a similar way to the one on AP - landing on the speed pad at the correct angle.
However it succeeded once in about 15/20 attempts so bugger that idea.

I did try to shift left VERY early, so im landing a br mid corner, however no matter how much i pitched down i couldnt avoid the roof of the tunnel.

    Thanks Leungbok.

KGB - Tictacs? What do they have to do with barrel rolls?

I forgot about the rest of the videos.
