...and opened "Challenge II" in Wipeout XL (NTSC: US/CA) on PS1. Now, I'd like to know: What is gained after doing perfect in the Challenge II? I heard that you get 'Red Bull' afterwards. Is this an even harder race class?

PS: Here's my favourites from all Wipeouts:

Wipeout 1 (Saturn version) has nicest music.
Wipeout 2097/XL has nicest graphics & tracks.
Wipeout 3 just screams in replay value, as well as that nice lady voice! :-D
I don't have any others.

Congatulations on getting all the Phantom Golds.
You reward is opening up the prototype Piranha craft.
The Piranha is super fast and manoeuvrable, but has no weapons.
Good luck with Challenge II.

What you get is the Piranha ship, which can't use weapons or power-ups but is faster and more agile than anything you can probably imagine. ;) Take a look at the XL tables to see how much faster Piranha records are compared to other craft.
