Qirex Desktop Wallpapers

So I'm here in the UK, I got my PSP and Wipeout (Only game I really wanted) on Saturday 3rd. I was really glad to see Qirex back, missed them in Fusion.

Created some wallpapers for the other Qirex fans out there:

Indeed - sigs cause clutter and general ickiness and we've got a nice sig-free zone here. That's why you had to add that in manually - there's a good reason the feature isn't active.

Like the wallpapers though. Welcome to the board! Have a good read of the guidelines and join in the discussions!

thats a really awesome wallpaper. Totally true to WO. Digging it. Also wondering where you grabbed that font from? Its very very appropriate for Qirex. Is there any place anyone knows where i can get the WO fonts or something like that? That would be really cool. I wouldnt mind giving wallpapers a shot myself then.... infact.... mmmmm.

The font is called 'aetherfox' I downloaded it free a while ago. Can't remember where from tho. I've got loads of fun Sci-Fi fonts... Too much time making wallpapers.

If no one can find it I've still got the zip file, just ask.

I've always loved the wipeout production design. Its something I'd like to move into, alas I've no qualifications to go into it professionally.

Looks brill dude, only one minore niggle, the 'X' looks really weird, Qireж just doesn't look right without the 'ж' on the end, If I could get a .bmp of the image it'd be a 60 second job in PSP7 (that's Paint Shop Pro, rather than PlayStation Portable) to rotate the letter, make a gap and a white bar.

I think it's great other than that small detail and it's goin on my PSP. If there's enough interest, you reckon you could knock up a FEISAR wall in 1280*1024?

One tiny question, how do I actually use the wallpaper for my PSP? I believe it has something to do with me not having 2.0 but I can't get 2.0 because those corporate f***tards at Sony will only let me get it through wireless and I don't have a wireless connection, is there any other way of getting the update so I can use this wallpaper?

Since I got good using Qirex in Wipeout XL I sided with their team when I joined the site. The only grief I have with Qirex is their team color. Call me a homophobe, but I just have a problem with purple.

Still...a very nice looking wallpaper! I assume that this is going to get added to the front page's download content?

I really fail to see how purple is a gay colour, (it's most common association is with royalty, later Roman (Greek) Emperors often carried the name Paleologus meaning 'Born in the purple' as they would be crowned while still in the mothers womb).

Even if it was associated with gay people that's still a lame thing to dislike, my brother's car (Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type 8.) is festooned with pink badges and even pink stitching on the steering wheel and handbrake but I'd hardly suggest his car is effeminate cause of a pink Subaru badge.

I think the same thing, when i got me pink ipod mini all my friends were telling me im gay and whatever blah blah blah. But the damn think looks really cool in pink, whatever the hell anybody would want to associate that colour with.

And this from someone who's pretty indifferent to the colour pink. If something looks good in any colour, go with it, dont see any problem.
