Default fr-086: The Race (demoscene wipeout)

From time to time I follow demoscene. Just last weekend Revision 2017 took place and during 64k compo this happend:

Looks to me farbrausch did some 64kB-wipeout-tribute.

Even the mods got it right afterwards

No, not an actual game. Just some programming skills show-off. That is demoscene about. gfx and sound - both to some degree - and code has to be within a 64kB limit of the single executable program.

To "see" what's possible within this 64k limit this might give a clue without too much technical background. This one ranked 3rd place

For a moment I thought it was this dude https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGiYx5tNHcI

He's involved in the demoscene too, but this is an actual game.

Possible ... he's (w/) farbrausch. Don't know if still active. Thought they quit. But seems farbrausch (2.0) is still releasing. btw, "fr-xyz" number schema does not fit release date.

and btw, I love this 4k / 64k eye candy stuff :-) Mr Robot and farbrausch made my day ... and supraleiter (strong name) looks good too.

Err, well, don't know what to say besides 'hi' and 'awesome' - love (your) demos. Could you give some insight into why this wipeo ... the race demo?

First, it was a experiment for a near complete GPU-based wipeout-style Racing-AI + collision detection + physics engine implementation (where the CPU is concerned almost only with the sound respectively software synthesis of the soundtrack of this 64k.), second, it was a advertisement for my 64k softsynth-related seminar talk on the next day, and third, since when does (digital) art need a reason?
