Thanks for the races Wotan998. You're a top notch racer and I look forward to seeing your progress through the Cup. Very classy too (he probably coulda won all 7 races easily but threw me a couple of bones ^^).

    Default ONlocke VS. novide

We got done playin' just 20 minutes ago, and here's how it went:

    ONlocke's tracks:

    Ubermall fwd/sr/phantom/wep on: novide
    Modesto rev/sr/phantom/wep on: ONlocke
    Vineta K rev/sr/phantom/wep on: ONlocke

    novide's tracks:

    Sebenco rev/zone battle "50": ONlocke
Tech De Ra rev/sr/rapier/wep on: novide
    Anulpha rev/sr/rapier/wep on: novide

    Decider:

    Anulpha/sr/rapier/wep on: ONlocke

    Final result:

    ONlocke: 4
    novide: 3

Fun match! novide gave me a scare on Ubermall, when he just disappeared around the curves, and suddenly had a lead on about 5-6 seconds. I put out a bomb on the second lap, and when the third lap came, i saw that he had run into it. but the explosion blocked me from seeing another bomb inside it waiting for me... BOOM! I also ****ed up the first shortcut twice this track. He had me shaking for the two following maps.

Modesto I won with a comfortable gap, but Vineta K must have been the most fun, for me at least. It was a constant battle for the top spot. First novide laid out a bomb, but it was later retaliated by me a couple of laps later!

I was sceptic to the zone battle, not beacuse I think it's a bad game mode. But because I don't think I'm very good at it. I was suprised when I took the victory here, as I can't even beat the CPU on this mode. lol.

TDR was close, but on the third lap(I think it was) I managed to push the psn button. (classic). My fault! This also happened on Anulpha, amazingly enough.

The decider was exiting as well, as novide slammed both airbrakes and let me pass, a second later I almost got an plasma up my a**. But in the end, I was lucky enough to take the victory.

yeah it was great fun ONlocke...

on ubermall i took the other side, the bomb was exploding by itself..
i am not so bad at zonebattle and thought i have a good chance to win against a good phantom pilot, but i did a big mistake there and wrecked myself twice..

here the playlist from all 7 races

Good luck for round 2, ONlocke

    eagle update

jambogt has been disqualified for faliure to arrange his match.he was contacted many times by myself and unctous.he didnt answer most of his messages those he did he said he was too busy.problem was everytime i went online he was also online playing games.he provided no explantion and unctous would have to leave the cup himself as this is his last day he could play before he goes back to school so i thought it best to do disqualify jambogt

unctous vs shiza brownpants (standin world cup opponent to replace jambo gt)

    phantom races 5 laps

talons reverse weps off unctous wins
modesto reverse weps off unctous wins
    ubermal weps on unctous wins
sol fw weaps on unctous wins

clean slate for unctous who wins confidently 4-0

well done unct good luck in your secound round i understand you may be playing tonight with ace-flo..

good luck to stinkleroy..cat and nova who may also be playing tonight..

qljon please play your games as i have seen both you are your opponent online at same times.please arrange and play before time limit expires.. if there are any issues please let me know and i will help if i can

Default "Another one bites the dust."

We now have a result from Owl Division. Lord_Rushton known as Olol on here has, handily defeated me. Here's how it broke down, for those into stats

    Lord_Rushton's Tracks
Anulpha Pass Reversed (Zone Battle) (55) : Lord_Rushton
    Syncopia (Zone Battle) (55) : Lord_Rushton
The Amphiseum (Single Race/Phantom) (Weapons On) : Lord_Rushton

    SpaceboyG's Tracks
    Chenghou Project(Single Race/Phantom) (Weapons Off) (7 Laps) : Lord_Rushton
Tech de Ra Reverse (Single Race/Phantom) (Weapons On) (7 Laps) : SpaceboyG
    Sol 2 (Single Race/Phantom) (Weapons On) (7 Laps) : Lord_Rushton

    Final Track
Anulpha Pass (Single Race/Rapier) (Weapons On) (4 Laps) : Lord_Rushton

    Result (Final) : Lord_Rushton 6 - SpaceboyG 1

Congratulations to Lord_Rushton! As I told him in our chat, I hope he does Owl Division proud. I wish I had practiced more and had a better showing, but it is what it is.

With that said, it's not a total loss. Looks like I met another friendly face thanks to Wipeout and not only that, but the last few days I had a bit of that Wipeout feeling that had gone away due to other things revolving around my life. Hope that I can carry that momentum into 2011.

Finally I want to say thanks to kanar, JJPAP and to the other guys and gals responsible for putting and keeping this together. It's brought passionate enthusiasm and camaraderie to the community and would love to see this continue in the years to come. Especially for those of us that cannot make it to the various events around the world.

    I dared said it!

Been so much going on the last couple of days that I've completely lost track of this.

Commiserations to R3BU5ER and AnErare, but you both had strong opponents and am sure you did an excellent job of representing TFD.

Congrats to all who have made it to the next round, and generally congrats for getting things done.

Congrats too all the Raptors and kanar for all the effort. I feel this is something very special.

Aw, that makes me sad. Though to be perfectly honest, there is no "the one" in WipEout for me, there is only "the two", the A club, Arnaud and Al. My pilot heroes forever!

maybe I should start a fan club

Results are in for stinkleroy vs ID_ArsNova (just in time )

stinkleroy's Tracks - All phantom, weapons off, BR on

    Moa Therma Fwd - stinkleroy
    Chengou Project Fwd - stinkleroy
    Metropia Reverse - stinkleroy

ID_ArsNova's Tracks - All rapier, weapons on, BR's off

Amphiseum Fwd - stinkleroy (at this point it became clear who had won but we decided to keep racing anyway and have fun)
Tech De Ra Fwd - stinkleroy
    Vineta K Fwd - stinkleroy

We skipped Anulpha Pass, because it's Anulpha Pass

Thank you very much to ID_ArsNova who was a worthy competitor and a very nice lady too, I hope you keep playing and we meet again on the tracks soon

As for me, well 6 months away from WipEout really does feel like an eternity...my legs, hands, face and ears were shaking from nerves and I made a real mess of some races, but it's proved to me that practice makes perfect. So for the next round I'll put in some time and practice my moves (hopefully)

Thanks to everyone who has had a hand in organising this event, it's brought me, somewhat rustily (is that even a word?) back to the world of wipeout. I've missed it

ericd7m and I just finished our match:

    concrete_d:

    Sol 2 Reverse (Rapier/Weapons On): concrete_d
    Metropia Reverse (Rapier/Weapons On): concrete_d
Modesto Heights Forward (Rapier/Weapons On): ericd7m

    ericd7m:

Sebenco Climb Reverse (Phantom/Weapons On): ericd7m
    Metropia Forward (Phantom/Weapons Off): ericd7m
Moa Therma Forward (Phantom/Weapons Off): ericd7m

Anulpha Pass Forward (Rapier/Weapons On): concrete_d

    Result: ericd7m 4 - 3 concrete_d

I was completely outclassed in Phantom Thought I might have a chance to take it to the tiebreaker with my picks, but he made sure it didn't

Congrats to ericd7m, best of luck for your coming matches

    triboy 3 - 1 Connavar ; phantom weapon on
    Congrats to triboy.

First race on Vineta was super close and good, close win.
Then lost on Modesto (2x mines + 2x bombs) slightly upsetting, because piloting
seemed nice, could have been a close race, but well what can I do?
Then on TDR hmm missile hit me while i turbo, so off track, already more
    upsetting!
Then chenghou, had some luck and 3 seconds lead on 4th lap, just had to stay
on the track to win, but controller slipped a bit so i completely lost control and
fell off the bridge Then this was VERY annoying.

So then, even if I have good chances to come back with Sebenco and Sol2 R,
I thought I was already upset enough, and don't want to make it worse,
    so I resigned.

Also, why were the tables made random??? It makes no sense, we both agree,
normally this game should have taken place on a later round, like round 3
    or something.

They weren't randomized, there were seeds, and unfortunately triboy wasn't one of them...

    Too bad there mate

Yeah some matches 1st round were very tough, such as Others, also I could have met an easier opponent first round! :d Well I think it was hard enough to pull the seeded list together and all, it's just bad luck mate

Sad to see another Dutchman down though! 3 gone, I think 4? Still to come.. Keep it up guys!

I guess the system showed its limits.
No system is perfect, but next time, let's also add some weighting so it's more
balanced. (Talking about an automatic script of course!)

Yeah but how would you go about doing that? 25% players seeded is a fair amount imo, it's just that there's a lot of great pilots out there and you can't seed them all. There were some tough first round games like R3 said, but isn't that just part of it?

    Morfeo378 Vs Hacenetchik
    IDReaper Vs Plazarou
    Tar-Elendil Vs Kanar
    ONlocke Vs Novide

    Just to name a few.

By the way would it would be interesting to see the % of seeded players that have gone out first round...

  20. #1380

    Exclamation

It looks like I have won, Tug_14 didn't write me back. In the last message I asked him to play (again) and told him that if he won't write me back, that means he's passing. It's after midnight and he's no longer around, preffered playing GT5 all this time before, during and after christmas I'm guessing you need to ask him if that really happened so he can confirm lost round. Anyway, I'm glad cos his times are at the same top of the tables among Triboy, Klocki_Lego and the other great players, so I would imagine I haven't got any chances with him In that way I've got some time to practice as I was little bit lazy too

Well, Tug_14, you should regret your decision, I'm not as good as I thought.
