Saturn - I know how you feel, as I was exactly the same during my first round in the Avalon Cup. I'm the same as you - I don't like Green Races either and it took me a while to get into it. But by then it was too late and I was beaten.

I'm a bundle of nerves when it comes to events like these and my racing skills suffer because of it. I need somebody to make me think that it isn't an event race when it actually is so I won't be nervous and mess it up!

Yeah - it's all psychological. I think it's just because I like the game and the forum so much that I put all the pressure on myself. Nice to know I'm in good company though.

    i understand your frustrations saturn..

sorry to hear about your match

i can handle being beaten at something by someone better.
But i cant handel it if I fail to perform to my best...thats frustrating..be it nerves or other factors..

the only consilation is it happens to everyone to a degree when you get to a high level.
im talking not just video games im talking about life and its challenges too.

Well done to Ace3cube , I thought SR might just take it.

Sometimes you can play and it's like you are a pig with a gun, as in numb as **** . Hands are cold and no feeling at all, add that to nerves and your a gonna. Never mind Sat, there's always next time and there's no shame in losing to Ace3cube as he's one of the best around, I'm sure it could of easily gone the other way on another day.

First, congrats to the winner, well done Ace, you rock

Sat, come on buddy, this doesn't looks like you! There absolutely no shame to lose against Ace! In a good day, Ace is nearly unbeatable (but when he starts screwing up, he does it for good )
You won the EWC, you're now in the top 10 of the cup. Everybody knows you're a great player!
You obviously put too much pressure on you and forgot Kanar's leitmotiv : "The most important thing is not to win but to take part!"
And don't even think again about cancelling your inscription for the WOHD cup! I will do it, to be part of "the stage of History" (Soul Edge inside ), even if I really have few chances to pass the first round!

Ok guys, just wanted to explain but not take over the thread. I've had a nice curry and feeling better. So back to the topic at hand now I think. Let's all look forward to kanar vs. Luxo. I'm just gonna enjoy being a spectator now and cheer on my boys.

kanar (HD Icaras) vs Luxoflux (HD Icaras)

    My courses:

Anulpha Reverse/ Phantom SR/ Weapons ON- Luxoflux
Amphi Reverse/ Phantom SR/ Weapons On - kanar
    Zone Battle/ Moa Fwd/ Target 55 - Luxoflux

    Luxo' courses:

Metropia Rev/ Phantom SR/ Weapons Off - Luxoflux
Moa Rev/ Phantom SR/ Weapons Off - Luxoflux
    Sol2 Rev/ Phantom SR/ Weapons Off - kanar

    Final race

Ubermall Fwd/ Rapier SR/ Weapons On - Luxoflux

    FINAL RESULT
    Luxoflux 5-2 kanar

and I'm a spectator too now lol. Grr Luxo hunted me down, well done mate, you really deserve it. I can blame myself too cos' I helped you well lol. On anulpha I wasn't here at all, stupid 3brs in a row first lap then missile in my ass ok bye bye duckie gah. 1-0 lux. On Amphi I was uber focused, 1-1. And wtf wth me seriously. I worked zb moa Fwd my ass, and what happens? mid-race my brain disconnect for a stupid shield button remapping (I was leading by far the zb grrr), and couldn't focus anymore til the end of the race. 2-1 luxo.

Then his races. Metropia Reverse, neck to neck, I can only regret a few stupid but minor mistakes, great win by luxo, 3-1. And GAH moa reverse. No coments, cracked down on this stupid turn, can't blame luxo for that, I was slower and my lines weren't perfect at all. 4-1, well deserved victory. then I got him on Sol2 rev, 4-2, but the match was done, and I completely let down on uber rapier, 5-2.

Grrrrr. Well done Luxoflux, you really deserve this victory. I need to deal wth pressure a bit more for the next cup, tbh I think I'm deserving a tight 4-3 defeat there, without the stressing stupid thing. Just need to practice a bit more for the final outcome eh eh.

uploading the vids right now, except round 7, tbh not necessary lol.

Unlucky kanar. Luxoflux would probably be the best there is if he played nearly as much as the rest of us so I feel for anyone drawn against him. Congrats to Luxo. You better win it for the Dutchmen now. No pressure.

Hehe, thanks for all the kind words guys I got really lucky indeed in Zonebattle cause I was losing by a mile. And im indeed sorry for the sindwinding on moa rev. The game decided that ittle be a good idea to turn us from ghosts to solid state right before that corner.

Thx SR for putting all that weight on my shoulders Thankfully im a pretty relaxed dude so I dont stress out that easily, perhaps that is what got my so far in the cup. Too bad you lost your match cause it wouldve been great to have 2 dutchmen in the semi-finals, but I wish you the best of luck in the next cup And Yeld, please come online anytime soon so we can have some Avalon style races

And last but not least big thanks again to Kanar for starting all these great events and I am sure there are still more events to come. And of course good luck to you also in the next cup.

    Later guys

eh eh mother****ing bas**** luxoflux, I love you. Was awesome to race you mate, high skilled stuff, yeah that's just a stupid videogame but god we lived a great moment there. Too bad my stress fked a bit my racing, yeah I noticed you're really good under pressure, probably your best quality. Arh that was all good anyway. Wipeout definitely rocks. Adrenalin amplified stuff. Don't thank me for setting this up btw, once again ME THANK YOU ALL FOR PARTICIPATING AND LIVING THESE MOMENTS. Yeah this is just 1vs1, online face to face, & on a stupid videogame. But god this is better than billion of other things in life, seriously ah ah.

Hellfire_WZ (Fury Goteki45) vs XBARNSTERX (HD Icaras)

    My courses:

    Metropia Reverse/ Phantom SR/ Weapons On - Hellfire_WZ
The Amphiseum/ Phantom SR/ Weapons On - XBARNSTERX
Sebenco Climb/ Phantom SR/ Weapons On - XBARNSTERX

    Barnster's courses:

    Ubermall Reverse/ Phantom SR/ Weapons On - Hellfire_WZ
Chenghou Project Reverse/ Phantom SR/ Weapons On - XBARNSTERX
Modesto Heights/ Phantom SR/ Weapons On - XBARNSTERX

    Final race

    Ubermall/ Rapier SR/ Weapons On - Hellfire_WZ

    FINAL RESULT
    Hellfire_WZ 3-4 XBARNSTERX

Well done mate, was a bloody tough tournament. Really regret picking Amphiseum though, it takes a race like that to realise it isn't one of my stronger tracks. Also bottled it big time on Modesto, led for 4 laps and screwed it on the last. Nerves definitely got the better of me there, well deserved victory for Barnster

Best of luck in the semis mate
