This head I hold - Electric Guest. Oddly I came across it from the ikea advertisement but even though the lyrics are quite sad, instrumentally the chords used in this song are really upbeat and epic :)

Since my grade school years spanned the '70s - '80s,
I mostly listened to stuff like Led Zep & RUSH, which really aren't good for gaming soundtrack.
Then the abomination known as Disco arrived & we all covered our ears & waited for it to die.
The '90s brought the evolution of New Wave into the multiple electronic sub-genres we now know as House, Dubstep, etc
Now in 2014 I find myself listening to D.J.s that mix it all up,
& recently have become obsessed with THIS guy

Very disco-like.....
(my how things can change with an open mind)
Yay Boards of Canada! c:

YES!!!!!!
I have White Cyclose, Nglonax, Iced Cooly, Roygbiv, 1969, Dayvan Cowboy, Beach at Redpoint, and Pete Standing Alone on a playlist right now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zhrh3oGTdE happens to be my all time favorite.
Damn, that's a really funky tune! I need to get Hi Scores now. :D
EDIT: DON'T listen to Autechre's Gantz Graf. I think it killed my brain.
Gaia - Empire Of Hearts <3 Amazing tune.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BqZQ1_ZVFs
Even better? It was written in 1988! This song was way before its time.
Good luck finding Hi Scores on CD. I don't even think you could find it on vinyl. I had the CD once, and I was able to get digital copies of the songs before... I LOST MY CD WALLET TO A THIEF. Since then I've recovered and got all the CD's except Tomorrow's Harvest, and the Hi Scores EP. If you are having a hard time finding any of the songs on the EP, let me know. I've got them. If you are new to BoC, I suggest giving Geogaddi a full listen. It is probably their best full album. Music has a right to Children is a close second.
As far as Autechre goes, I didn't like Gantz Graf. I'm a huge fan of Tri Repetae+, Incunabula, and Amber. Look for Second Scout for an easier listen by them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXBxaacw100
Oh god that is miles better, thanks. I just assumed Gantz Graf was just that odd one out.
I have most of BoC's stuff. I started off with Music Has the Right to Children, though, and I moved on from there, getting, in order, Twoism, In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country, Geogaddi, The Campfire Headphase, Trans Canada Highway, and Tomorrow's Harvest. I also found Hi Scores quite easily on iTunes.
Currently listening to: Autechre - Pen Expers. Sounds awesome.

@Light Buster: I have no idea what that was, but I think I need to get checked for seizures now.
Trippy as heck! Would make a great intermission video between races if Wipeout was a real life sport.
Some stuff from Ninja Tune (label of Coldcut):
I'm listening Amon Tobin since 2000 and i'm praising this genius since.
That's impossible to choose a track, too much great works. I could have posted pretty much all his work.
Here's few ones:
Amon Tobin - Hey blondie

Amon Tobin - Searchers

Amon Tobin - Slowly

Amon Tobin - The Nasty

I already did great while listening Country Joe and the Fish :)
Imagine breaking one of your records on "immigrant song" or "the temples of Syrinx". It should be nice :D
