Thought I would get in on the designing myself... Here goes: Atauni Velocity Research, an engine developer for the league that constantly tests and provides new engine technology for any team's use that is willing to pay. They could also be the developers of the progressive Zone and Platformer engines.

I will continue to post different variations of the logo and maybe some slogans in the near future.

Hey DDD13: I like this logo ALOT. Very nice work there. Only the black text is a bit small, I guess it will be hard to read if it's going to appear on a billboard.
When you or some other people like to do logos/sponsors/billboards or any other art that goes into advertising direction, try to also think about what other companies could appear in the future [not only directly related to racing]. Especially on city-based tracks like Kealakekua Bay or Cassandra, you would also find cellphone ad, fast food, hotels & traveling, ag-bikes or whatnot :D Ideas like those would be very much appreciated since they add a very nice detail to the game and make it much more colorful.
Also animated billboards can be done. We can't promise to use 'em all right away so maybe start off with a concept and if it receives "likes", continue from there. Animations should only last for 2-4 seconds though and should be rather small since they can consume lots of disc space easily.
-
Alright, thanks for the support. I'll work on some non-racing sponsors, things that are unique yet functional. I'll get back to ya when I have one done! :)
Cheers,
DDD113
Edit: What software would your recommend for animations? I'm not very advanced in the tech world, just working with what I've got, but I'd be glad to give animation a try!

use photoshop, create individual frames on different layers, then use the built in animation feature ;)

Thanks for the tip, Cipher. Turns out I'm back sooner than I expected, with my next sponsor idea, specially designed for advertisement at Kealakekua Bay.

Hawaii Air Transit Systems is an anti-gravity transportation company based on the islands. They mainly provide tours of the islands, and also transportation, including to and from the ARC-150 races in Kealakekua Bay.
Here is an excerpt from Howie Onaki, son of the company's founder Matevoa "Mav" Onaki, speaking at the revealing ceremony of all league tracks in 2183.
"My fellow AG fans, believe me, I know that this has been a profoundly exciting day for you and me alike. With the return of AG racing pioneered by the bold Leopold von Strauss, and the construction of 8 new circuits for the ARC-150 league, the stage is set for one of the most important eras of AG racing ever known. As you know, my home state of Hawaii has been graciously chosen by the committee to host its own track, Kealakekua Bay. With the construction of this grand circuit and the inception of the new league, I am overwhelmingly proud to announce that my father's company, Hawaii Air Transit Systems, will become an official sponsor of the Kealakekua Bay track, and of the league itself. We hope to promote great turnouts and fantastic racing as we embark on this rebirth journey, and we will stand by the league and the fans until the end."

Have an animated one in mind for a construction company, but having it quite busy lately, will see if i can get around to it in my autumn break

Good luck with the time, dude. I would love to see what you can come up with!

Peer pressure!!!! *runs away screaming*
Well, it looks nice in my head, but i have that a lot with digital painting as well.. and… let's just say.. my Wacom painting skills aren't the greatest >.<
But we'll see, can you upload gifs to the attachment system here?

Serion Logistics is an Asian transportation management company that would fit perfectly in geography to be a sponsor of tracks such as Hubian and Alphard, as well as the city circuits. They are a major global player in shipping and general transportation, and provide supplies to thousands of businesses across the world, including some transportation of supplies to ARC-150 racetracks when the need arises. Overall, they are fairly respected and trustworthy, but with high quality comes high price, and the only unpopularity they find comes from small businesses.
PS - All of the backgrounds on these logos could be changed to different colors or designs, I just present them in white so you can see the logo well and change it if you like. Also, to others than the dev team, if you like one of my logos, but there is something you would like to change/animate, feel free to do so!

DDD: I like your sponsors, but I have a feeling I'd love them even more if they had a bit more of a futuristic edge to them, similar to TDR's work. I think in this case it's mainly the fonts that make all the difference - see if you can find some more 'futuristic' approaches to them :)
As for animation, I use fireworks to create logos, and then I split the files up and animate them with After Effects. Example: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=440389869388210

Hey DDD113, I have an idea, what about a anime and manga toy company in Japan that sponsors some for the AG racing teams on Slipsteam GX? It might be a good idea or not, just give it a try. Here some videos what is a itasha car is.

No way that anime stuff is just bogus. It could have a sort of Japanese ad thing going on but not directly linked to anything anime. For instance, there are so many sponsors for the FX350 with those sorts of Japanese ad colour schemes with really bright and contrasting hues e.g. Joy Noodles. I'm still in the process of making a few sponsors, it's just that I don't have time to finish them. I also work in Flash which is a bit more tedious that AfterEffects. It's so annoying having so many ideas but not being able to do anything about it.
EDIT: HOOOLLY CRAP! Dreadofmondays that was really, really good. I have something like that cooking up. :D
-
i tend to agree with dreadofmondays, need some futuristic fonts going, would add a lot to the logos
And no kronic.. anime is not a reference for wipeout stuff.... TDR is where it's at
Japan nightlife is however, stuff like this; http://photos.travellerspoint.com/91...u..o_night.jpg
At least that's what gets me inspired, since i don't know what those signs say, i just tend to use their shapes in some way ^^

I really hope you aren't offended, but if I'm going to be honest I think I prefer TypeProton's sponsors. They just look more like sponsors designs you would see in real life. I believe a major part of this comes down to font choice. It seems like you're going for a futuristic feel but in some of them it just comes off as hard to read or tacky (the opposite of what a sponsor would want).
This isn't to say I don't like any of them though. For the most part they are decent and there are a couple I really like (this one for example http://puu.sh/4Xf3Y.png, nicely done)! The ones I have the biggest problems with are http://puu.sh/4Xf5p.png and http://puu.sh/4Xf6j.png. Besides the font, color scheme is also a problem at times and either make the text not stand out enough or in the worst case, blend in. To put it more concretely, for Labranth I kind of like this color scheme showcased here: http://s6.photobucket.com/user/pchal...ranth.jpg.html
Also I'm a little worried that you took Rising Up which TypeProton made but none of the others. Does that mean his other sponsors like Levicore and Terrafirma won't make it into the game? =( And I'm not sure the gradient effect is an improvement over the original that TypeProton uploaded before. But that part isn't a big deal.
I also really hope to see rdmx's sponsor from a few pages back as well as Sausehuhn's sponsors.
It's impressive what you all have come up with =)
And again, I wouldn't have posted if not for the fact that I really admire the work you all are doing and want to see this succeed to the greatest extent possible.
-
TypeProton did RS, Typeproton also did a number of others like Levicore and Terrafirma. They are great and they will be in, but I didn't include them here because they weren't 'mine' so to speak (RS strictly isn't mine either, but I did vectors of it and wanted to include it as an example).
RDMX's and Sausehuhn's sponsors are going to be in as well, once we've got them down to the standard sizes :)
Thanks for the feedback on those two; good considerations, I'll see if I can make them better. (Although I like Labranth in it's current form). As for the other sponsors, hopefully I can get better with time and experience.
Thanks for the support :)
-
I umderstand what you saying, but there is a Super GT team called Goodsmile Racing have been doing it around in 2008 as a sponsor before becoming Goodsmile Racing in 2010 and the company was formed in 2001. They been using Hatsune Miku for the team mascot when Goodsmile Racing team was formed. Here the Goodsmile Racing team website for the Super GT team that I was getting my ideas from. If you don't like the idea what I'm coming from, just PM me on my WZ page or message me on my PSN. Thanks

I think the secret behind TDR is to keep it minimalistic, in my art classes we were told never to use more than 3 colors for logos as they become a total mess, same goes for fonts, but the constraint is 2 there (preferably 1), a good trick to see if your logo works is to have a billboard sized one and then scale it down til an stamp logo and see if it still reads nicely ;)
@kronic wipeout isn't your everyday/ real life racing game :p

I know Cipher I'm just thinking outside the box to the Slipstream GX team, but it didn't work well as I expected. Thanks for your input.
-
FYI we've had anime in our ships since like a year ago: https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...94501830_n.jpg
-
Hey Xpand that a good ship with some anime & manga flavor, do some moe anime like Hyperdimension Neptunia, Haruhi Suzumiya, and Lucky Star skins on some of the teams on Slipstream GX. I think my plain to going well as planned.
-
I think the idea is to be original Kronic...
-
What plan? This ship has been like that since last year. I'm confused...
-
Take a look of Super GT in Japan they have teams that use anime and manga characters on their racing teams, but the best anime & manga racing team is Goodsmile Racing that is the division of Goodsmile Company that was formed in 2001 and Goodsmile Racing was formed in 2010 to race in Super GT in Japan that use Hatsune Miku as a mascot. Its not a plan, its just come up in my head to create a anime & manga toy company to sponsor some of the AG racing teams in Slipstream GX, I think I'm crazy doing this but I think it might work or not. Its your project Xpand not mine. I'm just an outsider that might give you folks an really good idea to think about. Here the Goodsmile Racing english website below.
http://www.goodsmileracing.com/en/
-
But we can't just slap anime characters onto ships, just like that. Doing that has a lot, and I mean a LOT of copyright issues that could get us in a heap of trouble. Plus it doesn't even make sense to put 21st century anime characters in something that happens 170 years from now.
-
Yeah true, but I got that idea late at night around the early hours in the morning I understand that a futuristic racing game plus anime and manga characters might be not the best thing after all. But one day if that might happen 170 years in the future. You and I may never know if that would happen.
-
Here's a sponsor I made up. It's a military/weapons manufacturer based one called Armada. Got the main idea/colour scheme from Triakis.
http://www.filz.us/files/1869619a/339/Armada.png
Bare in mind, I did this within 20 mins so please don't criticize it's over simplicity :P
-
I'll work on some futuristic fonts if that is the style you guys are going for. I obviously know the game is set in the future, but I guess I just have a different, less blocky view of it. Like I said though, if that is your style, I shall conform. I think that is really the only divide we are facing as far as style, between me, Kronic, and the dev team, is the view of the future. In my opinion variety is the spice of life, so we should harness it.
-
Though not part of the SSGX team, but I wonder if I can scetch concepts of each pilot for each ship/team, and maybe show them on my channel or here somehow. I notice outline concepts of pilots for each craft during ship selection in the October 2013 demo, and I thought maybe I can draw them out also in detail. If any, I just need their names, appearances/features, age, nationality, and race, then I may scetch a couple of them.
-
Hey DDD113 go right ahead, make a Japanese anime & manga toy company in Slipstream GX to sponsor some of the AG racing teams, I know I'm not part of the Slipstream GX team, but sometimes you need to think outside the box.

I'm back! And with new futuristic fonts. Some of you should know what this was inspired by. ;)
Attachment 8007
I know it shares the same colors as Serion Logistics, but personally I like it better, maybe it could serve as a replacement with a forum connection!
-
That looks a lot better. But I'd say use more basic/bright colors like light blue, yellow, orange, blue, black etc. If there's one thing I've seen in WOPure, it's that there's a very limited colour palette on the sponsors and the combinations work very well with each other. But I guess I'm just blending my personal preferences a little as well lol.
EDIT: I'd also use lighter/darker colors, so nothing too generic like #FF0000. Instead I'd use, say, #CC0000 for darker and #FF4D4D for lighter. It gives that futuristic feel.
-

I only have orange and black/gray, that's pretty limited. I just don't think of Al Vaseki as bright and cheery, its like Labranth, some sponsors are just dark. Anyway, I have another one ready to go. The logo is bright on this one, but the text is still darker. I wasn't quite sure what color to go with for the text, but I finally chose one. If you think another color would work better, please let me know, as I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it yet. Here it is:

Clairoptik, French glasses and visors constructor.
Although wonderful technologicals advancees concerning eyesight, humans still have a candy eye for glasses. Be they for correcting purpose or just for fashion, humanity always had a pair in its pocket since centuries. One of the greatest companies in the world is the French Clairoptik.
Founded in 2123 in Lyon by Norety brothers, it constantly grew to become European leader in glasses industry. Still in the hands of the Norety family, the group (still based in Lyon) extended its activty to protection visors and helmets design (for public divisions). Proof of their success, some of the best AG athletes are wearing their products.

Ishikawa anime toy company
Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan
Year established: 2180
Ishikawa anime toy company was formed in 2180 by Akiko Ishikawa owner of Ishikawa Racing Developments, she wanted to create a anime toy company when the other anime toy company Mt. Fuji went bankrupt in 2179. This cause a major uproar by die hard AG racing fans in Japan thinking that she was nuts to create a anime toy company and leaving the racing team that her grandfather created in the early 22nd century behind. This didn't stop Akiko to make anime toys that where popular in Japanese anime, this cause major anime companies to walk into her office begging her to create toys for their popular anime TV series in the world. When the ARC-150 amateur league was announce in 2182, Akiko jumped on the AG racing ban wagon thinking that her anime toy company could sponsor a team or two to allow the company to grow outside the walls of Japanese TV anime. It worked and teams like Solaris, Amphithere Engineering, and Helios AG Tech are now Ishikawa anime toy sponsors of the ARC-150. This made Akiko very happy that a small anime-manga toy company would sponsor the first AGRC after 12 years of the fall of AG Racing in 2170. This cause her company stocks to boost and fans of Japanese anime very happy that a company like Ishikawa anime toys would be first to do so. For Akiko her dream was coming true at last. As for Ishikawa Racing Developments itself it was sold to a private company in Japan by herself for large amount of money in a private auction in Tokyo.
Sorry I don't have a logo for the company.

Next, the mysterious AG development company based in Finland, Prometheus AG Research and Development. They work in all fields involving AG technology, kind of like a cooler, more respected version of G-Tech Systems (but obviously not a team :)) They conduct their own private research in the far reaches of Finland, and work under contract as well, although little else is known about this mysterious company.

I'd change that last part to R&D, instead of the full thing, abbreviations are key things you remember from an ad :)
Too much text is annoying, although it isn't that much, it feels like much, still, in the end, this is all just up to you guys though, just providing feedback where i can ;)
(funny how the file name has it abbreviated :P)
hmm, thinking about it though… anti gravity solutions sounds much better than R&D :p

-
I might, I like it better that way if you just right it like Prometheus Research & Development, but it makes the lines in black appear more balanced in the logo with the full word. Either way, I'll be looking at and making adjustments to all of my logos, so I'll evaluate it, thanks for the input. :)
Edit: The reason it is R&D (and it would mostly be referred to as Prometheus Research & Development, without the AG part) is because that is the main focus of the company, R&D in their secluded buildings in the far reaches of Finland. Even if they make a breakthrough, they might not be willing to share it, and that wouldn't solve much! :P
Edit (again): You know, I think I will just change it to Prometheus Research & Development tomorrow, sounds and fits the best in my opinion; fewer words.
