That would be very nice and all but what has led you to believe this?
Can't say, but if approved it will be announced around Feb/2010 for a Q4 release.
Then actually released in Q3 2011.
I can't remember the last time a game was released in the same year it was announced, if ever.
There's been lots on the PS3 released within 12 months of announcement - like Uncharted 2 and Resistance 2 for starters.
WOHD was 14 months wasn't it? July 2007 (E3) to Sep 2008?
colony wars hd
rollcage hd
g-police hd
^ pick one. much more likely than new wipeout anytime soon. i also (personally) think wipeout needs a lot of work in various areas before it makes a return.
Are these all sequels and HD remakes you're mentioning? It would make sense for them to have shorter and more predictable development cycles.
Then, perhaps that's also a sign that this new Wipeout game would be more HD remakes of previous tracks.
After some "research" I think its safe to conclude that WIPEOUT HD on Blu-Ray will be one heck of a rare game...
It wasn´t released on USA and in Europe its available in very small amounts.
In Portugal (Porto) I searched a great number of major video game retailers (12 total) and found only 3 copies. The moment i saw i grabed mine and went nuts... lol
I contacted friends in other countries and asked them to do this "crazy marathon" and the results were this:
-In Madrid, a friend found 5 copies
-In Paris, 6 were found
For others cities I dont have data but it would be a fun thing to do if someone wants and has the time to. :)
So, what do you think?
Well, there were around 5 copies in the GAME store where I got my copy, near where live, in London. :g
EDIT: the booklet smells so fresh... :D
Please can anyone try and tell me if there is german language on the european version of Wipeout HD BD? I don't want to buy the german version with this ugly USK printing over half of front cover.
Obviously taken from dubious source - now that we know SL got shafted rolyally by Sony... grrt
For those with both the Blu-ray disc and downloaded version:
Is there any difference in loading times/gameplay/online play between the dlc version and disc version? My brain tells me it would be faster with it downloaded, and of course that way the lens isn't getting worn out on the PS3...but I'm still curious. Anyone?
I expect it's slower to load than the downloaded version by what was asked in this post from a few weeks ago.

The saved data is different as well,so you can't use your progress from the downloaded version to access stuff from the disc, you'll have to play it through again.
I have both versions. The first time you start the disc version an installation process starts. It creates a 1.9 GB file on the harddrive that contains the gamedata. Therefore, loading times are the same for the disc version and the downloaded version. For the disc version, you have to insert the disc to start the game though. Savefiles and ghosts are not compatible. Your online rank remains the same but the badges are gone. That's about it.
Thanks, that's everything I wanted to know. :+
I always play the download version of HD Fury, but I also have the disc version. Today I tried the disc version, but ran into some strange trouble. My digital download shows version 2.20. HD Fury on the disc is 2.00, right? 2.10 was the sound bug fix and 2.20 was the stereoscopic 3D update. Now the strange thing is that when I launch the disc version I get a message that says that 2.10 is the latest version of the game and the patch gets downloaded. Ok, no 3D patch for me. That doesn't really matter since I don't have a 3D TV. The game starts and I select The Amphiseum and I get that darn sound bug! I quit the game and check my Gamedata-folder. The 2.10-patch is there, 11MB in size. I start the game again. No patch gets downloaded. I start a race on The Amphiseum again and the sound bug is still there... :frown: Does anyone know why this happens? Is this some kind of bug because I have the digital download? This is not a big issue, I just want both versions of the game to be patched to the latest version, that's all.
Digital and Full retail version are not really the same game (don't have the same ID). So the 2.10 patch for the digital version doesn't apply to the retail version.
It's the same for trophies and saves.
It seems that the retail version didn't get the last update (I learn that a few weeks ago when someone told me he could play the 3D version with the retail version).
