Does this really mean the end of Wipeout?
What do you think?

MrFisty of R8 is talking to us WipEout Zone members on fine-tuning the game. That early gameplay footage is just what they whipped up really quick to show to a publisher, and not gonna be even close to the final product.

Sorry about that.

I'm still disappointed they won't be able to work with the Wipeout license, too bad...

EDIT: ok so this doesn't have that much to do with Firesprite or Sony.
Sorry again for this thread, I'm gonna look this new game up in the thread you linked :)

I actually like the far future feel of wipeout, and it certainly looks very nice, but I like the ship design style from wipeout better.

In other words, I REALLY want wipeout back!!! :(

This is probably because it's still in development, but the turning is what I’m not a fan of, like it's on a superconductor magnet which probably is. I just don’t like the stiff/hoverless Anti-Gravity like if it’s F-Zero. Sodium 2 on Playstation home is a perfect example of what I would like for it to feel like with its turning and speed. As for the design of the craft, it’s actually interesting using a Fomula 1 chassis like it was installed for then in the beginning 2040’s (Following WipEout timeline), and the visual style at least looks 2048ish.

However, seeing that it’s made by the same creators of WipEout, I expected better from them in terms of physics. Again I know this game Is still in development, but the turning and speed is what’s turning me off right now unless it was on a certain speed class. Especially how long the tracks look, the speed should feel fast. (Have the camera shake instead of the blur effects) and make the craft twist when turning.

Overall the visual look and style still feels like WipEout 2048, which is great. But the physics wouldn't feel the same or better to me. If it were to feel like Sodium 2 then I would be satisfied.

I still expect Firesprite to get the WipEout license off of Sony’s hands someday and collaborate with R8 Games. I mean, what use does Sony have with it anyway?

MrFisty from R8 is using that thread to get our feedback. You could suggest the camera shake.

I did, thanks :+

Regarding the FF/Wipeout debate, I don't have anything against any new futuristic racing game, it's just that the Wipeout timeline/saga/mythology is more appealing to me. I don't want to drive a Ferrari from the year 2222, I want freaking Feisar :p
