Hey folks,

I'm in the process of writing an article about the neGcon and PS1 racing games for Rolling Start!! (http://www.rolling-start.com/forum/) (and maybe Racketboy (http://www.racketboy.com), if they'll have it) and I figured you guys might know a bit more about the controller's history, seeing how the Wipeout series is pretty much the poster game for the device. I'm especially curious if the neGcon's creation was ever credited to one specific person or group over at Namco, or if that information is just not known. And if you have any other interesting bits of neGcon trivia, I'd love to hear them.

I know about the black neGcon, I own one of those myself. ;)

The article's now up (http://www.rolling-start.com/articles/neGcon_by_Ghegs.html). There may not be any new information for you guys, but maybe you'll find it a decent read nonetheless.

Concise article! Sorry you didn't get any replies to your original post. I did see it, but there's nothing I could think of that wouldn't come up with the Search button, so...

Thanks, I did spend some time on it. I intend to update it with short blurbs for more neGcon-compatible games as I get them, I got several coming in the mail.

Do a search for the modded NegCon for wipeout HD at this forum.Author JabberJaw
Here's a YouTube video showing it.

A mate and myself modded one of these old dual stick controllers I had gathering dust for playing HD.

It was working ok, just needed a few fine tuning tweeks.
Unfortunately we had it sitting in his garage, his kids were playing around with a tennis ball, the ball bounced into the garage followed by a slightly overweight Labrador doing about 60kmph after it.
No controller would of survived that collision. :frown:
