Yes, thats right, now One- on one link mode in xl can be played WITHOUT cpu assist! After 15 years of searching for a way to play properly, i finally discovered a gameshark pro that finds values, resulting in codes if you know what you ar looking for. There is No more ship slowdown to the person in front, no more playing with 13 other ships making the game come almost to a complete stop in graphic intensive areas, and no more input lag because of this. It seems to run incredibly smooth. Ill do more VS fast autopilot ships to really test it out, so both ships are onscreen at the same time. Xl has officially reclaimed its best overall crown for single and multiplayer gameplay.

Wow, you seem very excited about this !

Of note, would records performed under these "conditions" be compared to solo records ?

No records whatsoever, it just made multiplayer 100% playable, as opposed to being decent. regular ships caused slowdown on many tracks and played ok, while using the piranha ship against another piranha ship driven at the same speed for the first lap or two a poor experience, and not very fun. Now it plays better than wo1,3 and 64 multiplayer, and weapons are not messed up.

Thanks for always looking for this, i have never played a 1 on 1 link for XL (dont recall doing it at least), but from that description and all the cleaning you did to it, sounds PERFECT!
