d-pad or analog stick?

hello

just wondering if there has been found to be any improvements of people using a d-pad over the analog stick or vice versa. at the moment im using analog stick and tried dpad because i heard that it's better but just found that i couldn't manoeuvre enough with it, or am i just doing it wrong?

I always use the D-pad. I'ts been this way since first playing 2097, so I've stuck with it.
