Pure for 2048 : Altima VII challenge !

Altima VII seems to be the last track of WipEout 2048. I propose a special challenge on WipEout Pure, opened from now to the 21st February !

The track : Altima VII (Classic 2)
The 5 events : 1. Race Flash, 2. Race Phantom, 3. Time Trial Rapier 4. Time Trial Phantom
5. Speed Lap Phantom (in free mode)
The 5 ships : 1. Feisar, 2. Auricom, 3. AG-Systems, 4. Qirex, 5. Piranha.

The rule : you have to use a different ship on each event, like you prefer ! Note your best time for each event, with the used ship. 8 points for the best player, 6 for the second, 5.4.3.2.1.
and 2 more points by completed event. Sum of the 5 events will give us the upcoming target on PS Vita :D
(WipEout Pure PAL, NTSC or others allowed)

edit: ups, got it. psp pure has altima VII in classic pack 2

edit 2: this track is very different in pure than it was in the original game wipEout 2052.
not only the strange graphics, but is it possible that they changed the layout of the track?
it seems to me, that it's a complete alternative variant. am i wrong here?

This sounds like it'll be fun; hopefully 2048's physics will work well with Altima.

The layout is almost the same, but the track seems shorter and less wide. Or it's the ships, they are bigger and faster !

I was curious as to if you know if that track is altima 7? Or a different ( hopefully not easier) version of it. I like this track on WO pure, all except that last tunnel, they should have kept it skinny

Back to on topic, I really like this challenge, trying to decide which ship to choose for which challenge will really matter. I bet Leunbok has it all figured out :)

How do you guys post up your times?

The challenge is played here and on WipEout arEna, the ranking is the same for all players, no matter where they post their times.

I tried two of them and couldn't keep up with you guys(About .2-.5 secs slower than the slowest time posted so far in the first two challenges) so I would need some practice but I'm just asking. Some sites require evidence in the form of a video, but I don't know how to record on a PSP.

I have a component cable to play on my TV. I would need some kind of camera. Maybe I can just take a screen shot of the TV or something first? I'm finding the Ai to be to aggressive early on in Flash before I pass them. It really is hurting my time. I can only pull off a 2:41.94 so far with Piranha. You are 20 seconds ahead? wow lol

No screenshots or videos needed. If you want to make some, you're welcome, but it's just a fun challenge, no gift or money for the winner : no reason to cheat on this old game WipEout Pure is. It's why I trust in the posted times.

Anyway, I'm glad to see a new player in the challenge, I hope you find a close rival in some events.

Update for some players.

I was going to improve my Phantom Race, when I lapped the 8th ship in the middle of last lap. Two seconds after, he hit me with rockets :brickwall

Edit : Rapier Time Trial (0'00"01 behind leungbok !), Flash Race (tie with G-Superpilot !!!), Phantom Race improved

Thanks, I hope more events like this are posted :) . This one isn't going to well for me, I haven't picked up Pure in a while so I'm getting beat by all the times you guys are posting right now. Maybe next event or hopefully I get some more time to practice soon. I actually like WO pure over Pulse for some reason so it is nice to see an event for Pure.

So, sub 2'15"00 possible for you if you can avoid the diablolic sphere 5 consecutive times ! (Even in Rapier I often hurt it). Give me some results for the other events too.
