It seems that when you make a photo when in 3dmode the ps3 makes a stereo picture (MPO) but names it jpeg so you only see the left frame.
You have to rename the file from jpeg to mpo then use a windows pc app called Stereophoto maker (freeware and 1st link in google search)
open wipeout photo file and then resave as mpo file, For some reason the sony ps3 app playmemories that plays mpo files wont play wipeout pics till you do this. unless they have been made in 2d and then at least can be read
You can also export as stereo jpegs,
My collection i made today http://hotfile.com/dl/78055468/8900183/3dstereowipeout.zip.html

I have a collection here of mpo which is full resolution and loads directly in 3d on playmemories for ps3

What, the game saves 3D screenshots using Photomode?!

Yep I was wondering why it had a different filename
Has mpo.jpg at end. It seems it makes a mpo file but renamed to jpeg. Has to be worked on a pc though to turn back to a mpo file.
I'm thinking when they make ps3 read mpo files natively (if they do) then they could patch wipeout to export mpo instead.

Also it seems these .mpo files are recognized automatically if you have an NVIDIA graphics card on your computer (At least they are for me) and possibly when you have a ATI card too. When I double click on them it says I don't have 3D Vision enabled (I don't have the monitor for it, nor the glasses) but I assume that if you do it will display the images in 3D automatically...

For me I have downloaded the viewer you recommended and I think it can work to display them using the red/blue thing, but I can't find my cheap glasses for that so I can't test either.

Hello again ive done some more 3d pics and have put them on imageshack.

ive also reuploaded original stereo jpegs here http://img209.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=20532222.jpg

Its a shame some of the extra photo effects are disabled in 3d mode, so not much abstract 3d art can be made.

I finally managed to get one of these 3D pics to work earlier, so I'll be checking out this thread more often now. 8)

Using the Stereo Photo maker I've taken some of Brainbeat's photos and put them into red/blue anaglyph for those of you that have the glasses. The pictures are roughly 500kb each, so beware!

This is a good find and I might make some of my own. I'll have a look at the MPO files on the 3DTV tomorrow, thanks Brainbeat! (And Studio Liverpool!)

What glasses are you on about Amorbis?

Amorbis

The standard red and blue paper glasses that you get with magazines, films etc.

Like this: http://www.1freeaday.com/pda1/images/1/0/0/0/7/3/1/1//inset.jpg

So they'd work with the pictures you have? On a normal monitor? Sorry if I sound simple, the only 3D image I've ever seen is magic eye :lol

Yes, they should work on every monitor if you use those glasses. Nothing special needed, apart from the glasses of course.

In that case I'll buy some tomorrow, nice one.

You can get them for quite cheap on eBay, on the UK site they can be as little as 1, or slightly more for two pairs. I'm sure they'll be easy to find in other places too.

There's some here: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?rt=nc&LH_BIN=1&LH_PrefLoc=1&_nkw=3d%20glasses&_fln=1&_sc=1&_sop=15&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283

Here's another one of Brainbeat's photos converted to anaglyph red/blue 3D:

Maybe you don't have to save up? You could just wait until prices drop and the technology is matured a bit, maybe. I suppose both options mean waiting though. Sorry to hear about your bad experience - it would be nice to buy things and have them just work for a change.:(

Strange thing is i upgraded firmware yesterday and it fixed my hdmi and 3d but the xtalk on the 3d is unbearable now,
Fi nding a box for its hard work, might just ask amazon for replacement wen they have back in stock, as i can use new tv box then to return faulty one,
