I don't know if you realize it but the last system update made you 3D ready.

Plus there is some new added trophy support.

See link for details.

There are two zone members who have just recently downloaded HD and have both found that they cannot connect online.
http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5384&page=6

They are getting "cannot download update" error message instead of "Cannot connect to server" error message.
They are both in the USA , so I think this might be a regional problem atm.

Not knowing how HD 3D is going to be rolled out, as is it going to be a separate game or [more likely] is it going to be a game patch/update that we all get, then it get's unlocked when we buy it from the store.

I'm guessing that the problem that these guys are having are related to both the system update and the yet to be released 3D HD roll out.

If anybody else starts suffering this , or knows of anybody that starts suffering it.
Can they post in this thread so we keep all the info together.

Wow, this might be a great time to try the Syncopia TT glitch (http://wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7271).

Why is it that every other aspect of PSN seems to work absolutely fine in every other god-damned game, except WOHD? Voice chat, text chat, online leaderboards...

regarding the 3D capability, does the new update also require a specific game update for WOHD itself?

Well I'm thinking it will need a update so everybody is on the same page.
I just hope it doesn't effect online racing.

Nobody knows for sure what is causing the "Unable to download update" error atm , it's just my speculation that these recent events my be at least part of the problem.
I'm thinking that the two that have the just recently downloaded HD and have the problem ,is because their copy of HD must have some search code for the 3D game update , which because it hasn't been released is giving them the "Unable to upload update" error message.
Sort of a catch 22 for them ATM.

I suppose this will be proven correct when the game update/patch is released and if they can finally connect online.

After i updated my system, my controllers won't work. no connection, sweet.

E: It solved by itself, dunno what it did but after half of an hour it seems to work.

I'm off up to the Sony centre now to try out the playable version of HD 3D.
My mate who works there will allow me access to their console.
I'll see what system software they have installed and what version HD it is, it might be on disc , I don't know.

Mine did sorta the same. When it was supposed to start the installation of the update, the screen just went blank and the controllers couldn't connect either. I had about 10 minutes to ponder how long ago I last made a backup.

I really, really must remember it next time I turn it on...

Just got back from Sony and found some stuff out.

The 3.30 system update is so the PS3 can play back 3D games only atm, the 3D Bluray software update wasn't part of it.

No info about HD 3D upgrade/patch unfortunately
The 3D playable demo was Racebox mode only, even when I went into the menu it wouldn't allow me to connect to the wipeout server to check on anything.
My mate said this particular PS3 was a special "de-bit"[?]one bought in from Japan,I did find out it had system 3.21 only on it.

The LX9000 3D TV I was playing on was also a pre production model bought in from Japan.
