couldn't resist a quick sesh :g

1.33.76 - 36 pads - 33BRs - Assagai

Method I used (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r8e9waI3tw)
(possibly) The method Saturn used (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDnD8-Pyx5g)

16th November 2009, 07:13 PM
yeldar that's insane! I only managed 1.38.80

16th November 2009, 08:15 PM
1.37.38 - 35 pads - some BRs - Fury Assegai

I used the old fashioned method for now because I suck at the other one. Might have another go tomorrow night.

I have photos too, so will post them if I end up in a good placing.

18th November 2009, 06:21 PM
1.37.43 32 speedpads yeldas method but not perfect lol, fury assegai

18th November 2009, 07:18 PM
Close one between you and Saturn, brainbeat

19th November 2009, 04:24 AM
I fail at Phantom... and Vineta K :(

can't do any BR's with high enough consistency... plus my boost location fails sometimes and gets too much hang time (doing it at the end, I haven't been able to do that double BR yet).

atm my time is 1.37.91, but if I can pull off a few more BR's that could easily be broken

19th November 2009, 06:40 PM
1.37.65 for me. Just can't get that double BR before the first tunnel so this is old school as well. It won't get much faster unless I change where I'm boosting. Yeldar is a bit quick here :+.

20th November 2009, 12:34 AM
I'll give it a go with the classic method and see what I come up with :)
Just for ref, is that boosting in the middle or at the end?

20th November 2009, 06:14 PM
I did it at the end.

After 2 attempts with HD Assegai I got 1.36.85 using the pirahpac method that yeldar used in his video. I found HD Assegai much better for this as it seems easier to get the air at the end of the lap to do the 2 BRs. Again, I have no idea how many BRs I did as I missed half of them, but it was still a fair bit faster.

Using the method where you boost at the end, it is actually possible to get two BRs if you keep the ship low enough, hit the pad, and bounce+BR after it. So that would be 5 with an old school method. Or boost in the middle and do the two at the end without the boost and it's still 5 I think. Didn't someone (leungbok?) do a video ages ago showing a BR right at the start of the lap without a boost?

21st November 2009, 04:48 PM
Yes you can grab a BR at the start of the lap, actually there are two places but I'm not sure you can do both in one lap. I'll have a look for Leung's vid in a mo.
Having said that I reckon it'd be a much harder BR to perfect than the BoostBRBR at the start.

Edit: Some BRs on Vineta courtesy of LeungBRbok (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zud_N-OsiW4)

21st November 2009, 06:07 PM
Hmm maybe I'll try using the HD Assegai and see what I get. Only a slight improvement on my Fury time - 1.38.18

23rd November 2009, 05:25 PM
Well I couldn't get the consistancy to improve my 1.40.47

23rd November 2009, 06:29 PM
A nice turnout for the first Time Trial week - thanks guys :)

Week 2's criteria are as follows: TIME TRIAL/SOL 2 (FORWARD)/RAPIER/HARIMAU

You guys know the rules so I won't bore you with them again ;)

24th November 2009, 12:51 AM
Ok 1.31.24 26speedpads 8 br fury harimau
p.s undercutting the fin is so fikin hard, dont try on last lap lol. I did under on first lap

24th November 2009, 01:00 AM
1.28.60 - 28 Pads - 7 BRs (grrr :P) - Harimau

WR according to the (non-updated) boards.

24th November 2009, 01:35 AM
1.29.44, 28 pds, 6/7 brs . i didnt cut under the wing, kept respawning.

I bettered my vk time too, didnt get around to posting 1.37 on the dot with lots of missed brs assegai hd . I hate that track :twisted

24th November 2009, 01:57 AM
Yeah the wing-cut thingy is dead hard and the wing-cut thingy with 2 BRs is impossible - I gave up on that a looooong time ago :lol

24th November 2009, 02:08 AM
lol so if im doing the same way theres 2 secs in better lines ha ive already scraped time of to get that lol, not in 2 speedpads anyway:)

24th November 2009, 06:36 AM
I got a 1.32.x can't remember exactly, but managed to boost on the shortcut every lap. However, it's really sending me high in the air, really need to keep the nose down (can you still make the jump if you do this?)

24th November 2009, 10:32 AM
Managed to get 4 perfect laps but missed 2 of the stupid BRs off the tight right hander, I'm going over the wing at the moment as I keep respawning under it, has it been changed in a patch?

1.30.94 - 26 pads - 6 BRs (Double grr) - Fury

24th November 2009, 10:39 AM
No it hasn't been changed in patch, you can still do a double under the wing.

My best Icaras+ time is 1.29.00 with TarotCardKiller/Wellington method (boost at start/finish line). Gonna try Harimau tonight.

24th November 2009, 12:58 PM
No KGB it still works but you have to be insane to be able to pull it off.

Over the wing = win (for the time being) :g

24th November 2009, 04:28 PM
1.31.01 25 speedpads 8 brs

24th November 2009, 05:13 PM
Nice one mate very consistent safe method:P
Wheres the double?

24th November 2009, 05:19 PM
never got 1 in on that attempt think the ghost got 2 brs, goes under wing but cant remember

New time 1.30.62 28 speedpads 6 0r 7 brs, definitely missed 1

24th November 2009, 06:58 PM
You can double BR over the wing too. Use your boost a bit earlier, fly over the wing and you should land soon enough to do second BR.
Check brainbeat's video, he was close on 4th lap.

Not sure is it faster :)

24th November 2009, 07:13 PM
1.30.49 25 speedpads 8 brs

yeah i have managed to double br over wing but just playin safe for now i allways seem to mess up whenever im doing perfect start. u can also go lefthand lip to lefthand lip get 2 brs then turbo round the next turn and get an extra br in, i reckon its same time if line is learnt

24th November 2009, 09:38 PM
Ok, just got a 1.31.86 but there's still room for improvement as I missed a couple of speed pads and barrel rolls

24th November 2009, 11:22 PM
Managed to scrape about .5 off which is a lot really.

1.30.34 - 8 BRs I think - 25 pads - fury

25th November 2009, 03:01 AM
1.30.14, 27 sp's, 7 BR's

Had a pretty bad last lap, missed a BR and had some bad lines... I'll try to beat 1.30 later

26th November 2009, 12:27 PM
1.31.43 - 24pads - ?br

26th November 2009, 05:11 PM
1.29.95 9 or 10 brs 28 speedpads, about a million attempts

26th November 2009, 05:50 PM
1.29.08 - 28 pads, 10 BR's :D

1.28.30 - 29 pads, 10 BR's

I gave up double BR under the wing on last lap :)

26th November 2009, 06:53 PM
1.31.43 - 24pads - ?br

Nice work, I'm really gonna try and beat you this week - don't know if I actually can though ;)

27th November 2009, 02:05 AM
1.27.99 - 24 pads (i think...?) - 8BRs (none of the ridiculous doubletrouble BRs :D) - Harimau

will take a pic if i don't improve on this one: 1.27.5 well within reach...nightmare 3rd lap :bomb

I'm now going under the wing but not 'going' for the double

...will try to film my next run :)

28th November 2009, 12:55 AM
Can't believe this, my previous time was made after about 6 attempts, and since then I've had about 50 and all I've come up with so far is 1.30.04.

I can do the whole track better but my consistency has been atrocious, I keep on crashing out in a big way whenever I'm in front of my ghost...

28th November 2009, 10:06 AM
I've got consistency issues as well - I know that I can beat my time, but I either miss a BR or crash into a wall :(

30th November 2009, 06:18 PM
Nice times everyone, good to see world records broken as well as people improving their skills

A reminder: The criteria for this week are as follows: TIME TRIAL/SEBENCO CLIMB (FORWARD)/FLASH/FEISAR

In a few weeks, I will be letting you guys choose the criteria for the Christmas and New Year weeks. Think of it as a celebration or something along those lines :)

30th November 2009, 10:24 PM
1.49.27 - 34 pads - Some BRs - Feisar+

Needs improving: my first lap was my fastest lap :paperbag

2nd December 2009, 12:14 PM
1.56.77 from me, although it's global rank 25, it's still not good enough to match yeldar!

2nd December 2009, 05:19 PM
1.52.74 33 speedpads, loads of brs

last 2 laps again were not the best. I had a good run before and was on a running to get around 1.51 but i only managed like 4 brs the whole lap because i was anxious, need to meditate to do this lol

3rd December 2009, 02:10 PM
1.56.60 here. I decided to get my lines a bit better before I started the BR fest. Missing loads but managed more than I started with. Just looked at the save data file to get the time and it says that it was done with Icaras?? Also is anyone having trouble with their ghost ships, sometimes it shoots off in front before the first corner and other times I beat it but don't beat the record time.

3rd December 2009, 02:23 PM
I did have a bad ghost myself but it was further ahead than it should be so kinda helped, i usaully turn ghost off if its glitched like did to you, also i noticed it happens more when you try to beat time you just beat so I always return to main menu and let fully save before retry,

3rd December 2009, 02:49 PM
Those ghost's issues happened months ago !:? when the good ghost remains in my save file, i automatically save it on my second account.

3rd December 2009, 04:00 PM
Well it corrects its self eventually but why does it swap from being too fast to too slow, and why is it saved as Icaras when it is showing the correct time for what I did in the Feisar? Strange.

3rd December 2009, 05:49 PM
Too many of my ghosts are screwed. I usually give up with TT when the ghost gets buggered up, rather than reaching my limit. I do what brainbeat does too, I wait for it to save fully and then return to the menu and go back in. Otherwise it seems to always start off wrong, although won't necessarily last. Sometimes they don't correct themselves, and sometimes it just saves a slow ghost for no reason whatsoever. It's very irritating. I didn't realise they could be saved to a second account though, thanks Leungbok.

4th December 2009, 06:58 PM
It won't set the world alight but I got my time wrong, 1.56.50. :P

5th December 2009, 02:02 AM
Tut-tut KGB.

That's all I could think of

6th December 2009, 11:27 PM
so i didnt try for 3 days due to work and not sleeping well, tried to record a session today and beat my score by a sec, its alot easier if u dont go for perfect run lol, only managed around 25-30 brs i reckon

1.51.88 32 speedpads
posted to youtube a vid, I even hit side for sec or two lol, how many did you manage yelda, i presume u didnt get 44 though, as i can see secs off mine still because i missed some brs

6th December 2009, 11:31 PM
That's insane brainbeat :eek

Great work! :clap

7th December 2009, 07:58 AM
I think I missed about 12BRs in mine. Fastest lap was first lap 27.2x (somewhere around that time) with 2 BRs missed.

7th December 2009, 09:43 AM
Great vid mate. You've a great flow to your racing mate, nice to watch. The first double :rock

7th December 2009, 01:08 PM
cheers would be awesome to see a perfect tt run though, i have done so many laps and still dont feel like i know every inch, its gotta be the most technical course in the game.
oh and thats one decent 1st lap u got yelda, if i get 27.x first lap then im on edge from 2nd lap lol

7th December 2009, 01:35 PM
yeah it's a super frustrating track at this speed. gotta concentrate on lines, BRs AND staying on the track.
I was on a great run just before my record time, got 27.3x then 2x 26.3x then i respawned on the last lap. awesome :P

7th December 2009, 06:17 PM
Quite a tricky one this week with all those barrel rolls to be had. Thanks to all who participated - it's good to see high ranking times going on the Wipeout leaderboards.

Next week I will be setting up some polls whereby you guys will be able to choose the criteria for the Christmas and New Year Challenges, so get your thinking caps on :)

The criteria for this week are as follows: SPEED LAP/CHENGHOU PROJECT (REVERSE)/VENOM/AURICOM

7th December 2009, 10:08 PM
First up. :)

1.42.33 - 28 sp - fury

Had a go with Icaras after and beat my time by 1 second first try

7th December 2009, 10:28 PM
1.38.20 - 31 pads - 5BRs - Auricom+

8th December 2009, 10:28 AM
1.40.45 now, if only i could manage these tricky BRs. No 8 in the tables as they stand.

8th December 2009, 01:29 PM
Nice work KGB :+
Just a Q, where you using your boosty?

P.S. I'll try to make a vid tonight if people would like that...actually I'll make one regardless, I have a little obsession with making vids :P

8th December 2009, 01:59 PM
always appreciated as well Yeldar :P

maybe include a SL as well :paperbag

atm my best on TT is 1:41:08

8th December 2009, 04:29 PM
Yeah I always like watching the videos, can never do the things on them, but it might give me a .10 somewhere. :+

Yeldar I'm using the boost at the charisma free shortcut after the first mag mate. I've seen you use it on the home straight and then use the lip or nose up to just get across the gap to BR where most people boost to - does that make sense.

I would love to see how easy you make this BR into the tunnel look. I've still only managed it about three times. When it is coming off so badly then it's time to stop it :nod. Even though it's at Venom the nose up - SS - LRL - don't hit anything, is beyond me.

8th December 2009, 06:07 PM
lol. The lip BR-chain is pretty easy to start. After that at least 2BRs is possible but getting 3-4 is INSANELY hard. Can't say I spent much time on it but I'll try to find an easier way of pulling them off in the near future.
Yeah doing the mini-shortcut in venom is only faster if you can do a double BR, otherwise it's a bit slower. All will be revealed in the video :nod

8th December 2009, 06:39 PM
"The lip BR-chain is pretty easy to start". Cheeky sod :P. My thumb says different. :+

This is the lip on the right side of the tunnel isn't it? Just can't seem to get any height on it.

On a side note managed 1.39.xx - Icaras+, which is good for me. I seem to be enjoying the time trial more than the speed lap for this track, which is the opposite of last week.

8th December 2009, 07:27 PM
Same here, probs cos the start of the SL is THE biggest pain in the arse ever

9th December 2009, 10:18 AM
Looks like I could be on for another medal here, only through lack of competitors mind :P. Managed to scrape .03 off my time. 1.40.42 - 30 pads.

Was it worth posting? :rolleyes::D

12th December 2009, 11:35 AM
Only a 1.44.11 from me. I don't have the consistency on this track to get a better time.

14th December 2009, 12:47 PM
1.41.77 3brs 30 speedpads

i can manage 1 br off lip but never doubled up, and 1 br was allways behind my ghost still. hard challenge this week

14th December 2009, 01:33 PM
yeah 1 BR is slower that just going normall, you need at least 2 for it to be advantageous in any way :)

14th December 2009, 07:26 PM
Another tricky one this week, but thanks to all who contributed. For the next two weeks it's up to you guys what criteria gets chosen, as I'm letting you make the decision for the Christmas and New Year weeks.

EDIT: The previous threads I had set up were closed, so please state the criteria you'd like to use for both weeks in the thread that Lance set up here: http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7082

After reaching the image limit with the Speed Lap Hall of Fame list, I created a thread showing the results from every week as a reference: http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7081

The criteria for this week are as follows: TIME TRIAL/UBERMALL (FORWARD)/RAPIER/AG-SYSTEMS

15th December 2009, 04:08 PM
ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu ...

as much as I love Ubermall, it can be frustrating at times :P

Just beat my previous best time, but could do better: 1:34.28, AG-S Fury, 29 sp's

15th December 2009, 04:17 PM
Is it possible to get the shortcut BR right at the start amplificated? I can only do it after I've BR'd over the start line.

1.36.56 so far, 32 SP's

15th December 2009, 04:25 PM
not at the start, I think you need the previous lap's boost to give you the extra speed needed, as well as the speed pad on the right. Yeldar made a video a while back that shows the WR time, it was very helpful :P

here it is:

my boost style on the last lap though is more akin to how I outlined it in the speed lap thread though, I personally think it's faster than a simple boost-br; Yeldar is just fast in general :P

15th December 2009, 04:38 PM
Thanks amplificated, that helps - I know where I can improve now. Now it's just a question of maintaining the consistancy for 4 laps :)

15th December 2009, 08:01 PM
Same method as video but with the BR on the first corner on the first lap as well.

1.31.63 - 31 pads - Some BRs - AG-Systems+

16th December 2009, 12:07 PM
I've got a 1.35.xx at the moment which I did in 4 attempts. Had another go and failed big time. I was hoping to knock a couple of seconds off this.

19th December 2009, 12:56 AM
1.33.69 35 speedpads 19 brs i think:P

21st December 2009, 09:46 PM
Another great week has come to a close - again, thanks to all who participated :)

Last week, I set up a thread whereby I let you guys choose the criteria for the upcoming 2 weeks to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. The Christmas votes have been counted, and the result (by a large majority) was so:

Thanks again for the responses guys :)

You guys can also choose the criteria for next week, so carry on voting in this thread:

22nd December 2009, 07:06 PM
First up again 1.59.23 Fury - No BRs. I think I have seen three BRs on this track but was enjoying not doing them for a change, I'll try and get a few at some point. I haven't beaten my SL time yet, will post when I do. :xtree

23rd December 2009, 02:31 PM
My new scores atm are 2.01.97.

24th December 2009, 10:19 PM
1.57.78 - 44 Pads - 0 BRs - Icaras HD

Will try with BRs later :)

24th December 2009, 11:02 PM
Trying to do that boost to get enough air to BR is going to suck epically 5 laps in a row. Will wait and see if I try to do it :P

25th December 2009, 12:08 AM
Well if you don't feel like doing BRs, here's some sexy video action for you courtesy of Wotan AKA wtfwhere'dhegohe'stoofast?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkGDq-aHSXY

25th December 2009, 07:20 AM
indeed, very sexy lines...

26th December 2009, 12:47 PM
1.59.54 - 0 BR's - 42 SP - FURY

I beat my previous record by 2 sec :D

28th December 2009, 06:23 PM
This week has come to a close - it's great to see everyone finding some time to participate, what with Avalon and all - so a big thanks for doing so :)

You guys also voted for the criteria to be used this week to celebrate the New Year. There were lots of tracks with a single vote, but one that just clinched it with two. So here's this weeks criteria, as chosen by you:

28th December 2009, 11:22 PM
1.45.45 - 63 Pads - 21BRs

Missed 3 BRs on last lap -_-

29th December 2009, 12:26 AM
1.48.17 49 speedpads, should be able to improve if i can get the double br on last turn

29th December 2009, 07:36 AM
Double BR on the last turn? Interesting....will look into that...

If anyone is interested there's a vid of my previous PB on my youtube page :)

29th December 2009, 04:55 PM
theres 2 ways of getting br, one by just touching the righthandside u can then pitch up sometimes enough or u can land on rail pitch up and ss right, but the latter has to be a perfect line, from left to right on the bump before to get the angle

4th January 2010, 08:33 PM
For AmphiR TT Rapier Piranha:

1.52.11 - 38 Pads - 12BRs

4th January 2010, 08:46 PM
Where are you doing the 3rd BR in a lap Yelder?
At the first right or at the right before the mag strip?

Forgot to post my time DOH!
AmphR TT Rapier-Pirahna
1.58.77 [I think] can't remember if I bettered it

4th January 2010, 10:49 PM
1. Just before mag-strip
2 (didn't do this one cos it's to hard to do 4x). Chaining a second BR after the first BR before the mag.
3. ShortcutboostBR
4. Big drop at the end

Those are all the BRs I can do, no doubt there are more out there *cue BR mentalists*

5th January 2010, 03:08 AM
1:54.71, fury piranha

felt basic, but solid. could fix up a bunch of things but it generally went ok

7th January 2010, 05:32 PM
1.54.82 - 12 BRs - 34 pads - Fury

I'm pleased with this as I was about 5 seconds behind Yeldar when i started so I improved a lot. Lost count how many times I was on for a good time only to come a cropper in the last shortcut. The pressure's too much and I crack :P

7th January 2010, 06:30 PM
1.53.78 36 speedpads 14 brs

my ghost glitched it was so hard to beat a 1.55 time but as soon as i beat it i managed to them improve on it, i just want to cry when i hit that wall instead of blue window on last lap, but i dont i just cuss . i cry inside lol

8th January 2010, 11:56 PM
A little quicker, 1.54.48 - 33 pads Fury - BRs ?

10th January 2010, 06:29 PM
1.56.37, 34SP's, ?BR and a few mistakes

11th January 2010, 12:20 PM
Final scores on the doors for this week are 1.53.83 - 36sp - Fury

I think this has been my favorite so far. The thumb's taken a battering this week though, couldn't even pull off the easy one at the end by the time I was finished. Need to recuperate. :)

11th January 2010, 06:24 PM
Another week has come to a close. I can really see the skill of the competitors :)

This week's criteria are as follows: TIME TRIAL/TECH DE RA (FORWARD)/FLASH/ASSEGAI

11th January 2010, 08:00 PM
1.56.92 35 speedpads missed a few brs

11th January 2010, 08:34 PM
1.54.58 - 35 Pads - Missed 4 normal (non ridiculous) BRs so lots of room for improvement :)

15th January 2010, 11:44 AM
I got 1.57.59 Fury. I'll try and beat it before Monday.

15th January 2010, 03:35 PM
1.55.07 16 brs 2nd on leaderboard woo.
can't see me improving now, that was perfect run,

15th January 2010, 06:48 PM
How the bloody hell did you get 16BRs? It's impossible to get every one on every lap, common knowledge :nod

15th January 2010, 06:58 PM
I know lol, it felt tight too but if you missed 4 then theres still 1 or 2 corners im not taking right

15th January 2010, 07:59 PM
Yeah I reckon high 1.52.xx is probably close to the limit for this track...lots of room for improvement :nod

16th January 2010, 10:00 AM
1.58.82 - 36pads - fury

18th January 2010, 10:12 AM
I just couldn't seem to get the consistency right this week, so my best time was only 2.02.18

18th January 2010, 07:46 PM
Quite a tricky one this week, at least for me it was ;)

Thanks to all who participated, your names will live on forever in the Hall of Fame thread.

Speaking of tricky, I know that the forward version of this track caused a few problems, so I felt it time to up the ante and try out the reverse version, albeit on a lower speed class this time. So, I present this weeks challenge:

20th January 2010, 11:15 PM
Anyone doing this? I do have a time but can't remember it. Come on don't let me get the platinum.

20th January 2010, 11:30 PM
Go KGB go! Get em while they're not looking! :g

KGB's right, we need to stop him getting his grubby mits on the plat, who knows what he'd do with it ;)

20th January 2010, 11:42 PM
I'm still waiting on the post to deliver my other trophies, I guess DP has been busy. Cleared a space in the toilet and everything. :P

21st January 2010, 08:01 AM
I'll post your previous weeks trophies as soon as possible KGB ;)

I'll give this one a go tonight, might be able to bag the Silver or Bronze trophy

21st January 2010, 03:49 PM
may as well post my time even though I aren't at all happy with it. rq'd and couldn't be bothered.

1:29.41, fury eg-x

21st January 2010, 09:11 PM
Mine isn't much better :) 1.29.19 Fury

22nd January 2010, 12:46 AM
1.28.54 some brs 60 speedpads

Im struggling to change my line to do the double br at bottom of hill i keep forgetting to ss and head for 3xspeedpads. managed to do 1 br but i think you defo need 2 brs to beat a smooth line

22nd January 2010, 02:55 AM
Seriously, too many sp's

22nd January 2010, 12:50 PM
hehe yeah i think this track has the most speedpads per lap. I managed 63 on the attempt before and noticed whoever is 2nd has 69

22nd January 2010, 08:18 PM
This track at phantom is awesome with all the speed pads and narrow sections and lovely flow and mmmmmm....dreamy.

Sorry what? Oh yeah, wrong thread :P

25th January 2010, 10:37 AM
Only managed a 1.34.xx

I hate this track on reverse :(

25th January 2010, 11:16 AM
Saturn can you give him an infraction for saying that?

*teehee* :lol

25th January 2010, 11:55 AM
Cheeky yeldar ;)

25th January 2010, 03:46 PM
I agree with you DP, but I hate it both ways, I wish they kept the scale the same as Pure, the ship is too big in my view.

Haven't tried for any times for a few days so no improvement. :|

25th January 2010, 06:31 PM
A frustrating challenge this week, but thanks to all who participated.

This weeks challenge is: TIME TRIAL/SOL 2 (REVERSE)/PHANTOM/QIREX

25th January 2010, 09:06 PM
1.43.02 25 speedpads 1 or 2 errors

25th January 2010, 10:06 PM
Saturn can you give him an infraction for saying that?

Was it referring to Modesto Reverse? If so, then no, it does kind of suck, just because you can't have the reverse without the forward version, which sucks.:-

25th January 2010, 10:17 PM
My ghost says it's Feisar but I say it's Qirex. 1.43.61- 13 BR - FURY.

I have a game time of 505 hours now, the same as 3 weeks!! :eek. Need To retire again.

1st February 2010, 11:52 AM
1.42.48 28 speedpads 14 brs

1st February 2010, 04:53 PM

15th February 2010, 11:34 PM
1.33.55 - 8BR - 39SP - FURY. I must be doing this wrong as most of the top times are hitting 7 or 8 more SP than me????

16th February 2010, 12:43 AM
Where are you boosting? I had a massive Metropia reverse session a few days ago and feel like I can offer some advice ;)

The fastest method seems to be boosting down the hill towards the end of the track. Boosting over the "cage" at the bottom of this hill can be faster depending on how you land.

Posting a video would have been so much better but I hope the following turns out understandable: :dizzy

The very first speed pad on the track doesn't seem to be beneficial as it's kind of off the racing line, I find almost no difference between using it or maintaining a tighter line on the left side of the track. SS and hit the apex of the first left hander, take the 3 speed pads of course, as you approach the right hand turn, SS into the air over the wall. Where and how you land after this SS is crucial to set up your line for the next left hander going into the mag strip. I'm thinking a common place people lose time is when they vere off to the right instead of staying tight along the left wall (another SS here helps maintain this line). Take 2 speed pads as you enter the mag and then the other 2 over the rise on the left side. I to like to maintain a straight racing line as I exit the mag after the previous 2 speed pads. This means taking the single speed pad instead of the 2 upon exiting the mag (once again I find almost difference in time here!). After the next two turns hit the speed pad and boost down the hill, try boosting over the cage and see if it's faster for you as opposed to just boosting down the hill (seems like you can gain a few milliseconds).

16th February 2010, 01:09 AM
That's exactly how I've been doing it! So I don't know how I've missed them.

16th February 2010, 06:53 AM
poor time, but wanna let ya know:

1.36.35 45 SPs 8 BRs Piranha Fury

1.33.72, fury ship

17th February 2010, 11:09 PM
1.32.94 - 8BR - 39SP - Fury. Missed the last SP :brickwall so It could of been a little bit faster. Still missing these extra pads.

18th February 2010, 07:46 AM
last attempt: 1.36.20 43 SPs 8 BRs

20th February 2010, 09:15 PM

23rd February 2010, 09:59 AM
improved today: 1.48.78 66 SPs 14 BRs Fury

26th February 2010, 12:06 AM
This TT is pain for me since i'm not consistent with the 4th and 5th (bridge) BRs.

1.45.85 - HD - 67SP... and probably around 19-21 BRs (out of a possible 25).

26th February 2010, 12:13 AM
That's why tt pwns all :g

last lap pressure ftw as well

1st March 2010, 01:08 PM
Well I did have a time but I'm too scared to play HD because of the whole PSN fiasco :paperbag

1st March 2010, 01:34 PM
I was about to have a go but now I'm running WOHD in Demo Mode :rock

1st March 2010, 03:34 PM
I got a 1.46.91 - HD. Think I was chasing Wellington's ghost as I downloaded it months ago. I did a better job of keeping up with it this time than the last time I tried.

1st March 2010, 06:13 PM
Please see the Speed Lap Challenge for this week's criteria.

2nd March 2010, 10:21 AM
1.49.51 - 27 pads - ?BR - FURY.

About 4 secs down on Radical Radley :beer. What the hell are you doing? :?

2nd March 2010, 11:59 AM
Blame the Icaras....it wasn't me, honest :P

(2BRs/lap and some pads, just for reference :) )

3rd March 2010, 05:55 PM
Just me, myself and I this week so far.

1.48.12. Getting better just need to get the short cut sorted, sometimes I do it better that others.

3rd March 2010, 07:17 PM
I'll have a go at this later, don't think I'll get near KGB's time, but it's worth a shot :robot

4th March 2010, 02:37 PM

Updated :beer

8th March 2010, 06:09 PM
Please see the Speed Lap Challenge thread for this weeks criteria

9th March 2010, 12:21 PM
1.45.84 - 46 Pads - 17BRs - Tri+

10th March 2010, 08:31 AM
1.50.07 - 46pads - 8BR - FURY. It's just in the top ten but a massive 4.xx seconds behind the leader. Just another 9 BR to get then. Seen the vid Big G and can't do them. Is it a lot faster to Boost at the end of the lap, even then it will only be beneficial if you can get all the rest. I just can't get the height like usual to get some of these BRs.

10th March 2010, 11:13 AM
Yeah boosting at the end of the lap is much faster - I manage to beat my time by about 1.5 seconds. The other BRs aren't too bad except for the 2nd on in the hill/chicane section. Sideshift + nose up sorts that out nicely ;)

11th March 2010, 12:17 PM
1.50.52 I think it was, right behind KGB on the Global Leaderboards.

13th March 2010, 04:16 PM
1.48.92 - 46 Pads
Both TT and SL times were after pushing REALLY hard, yet still miles away from yeldars.

Never been that great at ubermallR myself :)

15th March 2010, 09:04 AM
Had one final go and got 1.49.60 - 50 pads - Fury. A bit better time than I started off with. Less than 4 seconds now ;).

15th March 2010, 03:54 PM
Here's my method

1.45.58 - 17BRs - Tri+ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqSbCtbnDCQ)

15th March 2010, 05:37 PM
1.51.14 48 speedpads fury beat my old time by 10 secs :)

2:15:35 / 45 SP / 10 BR / Fury

Edit: Updated, as I beat it pretty much instantly. :D

28th March 2010, 09:57 PM
And here is my "not bad after all" time ;)

2.14.43 42 Sp don't remember how many Br's G45 Fury

29th March 2010, 06:12 PM
My time was 2.17.xx in the end (will update it later)

EDIT: Please see the Speed Lap Challenge thread for this weeks challenge.

5th April 2010, 05:53 PM
Nobody this week? ;)

It's a dark day for the wipeout universe... :lol

5th April 2010, 09:12 PM
Argh, I wanted to give it a go but didn't find any time. It does feel a little depressing to be handed a Platinum or Gold when there isn't even enough participants for a Silver to be handed out. :lol

I'll surely enter a time this week. ;)

5th April 2010, 09:28 PM
Err! that's bad. Easter holidays last week and this so it's Ben10, Scooby Doo and (thank God) a bit of the Chuckle Brothers. Not much time at the moment looking after the kids. Back soon.

Damn! could of won that one :lol

6th April 2010, 01:02 AM

1.34.87 from me, 38SP's 4BR's. Can definitely improve, as I missed a speed pad and could clean up my lines a bit.

I didn't realise that a Time Trial could be so close!

15th April 2010, 04:59 PM

And i was pleased with my updated time of 1.33.93 (8brs).......... :(

finally a totally clean run - 1.33.36 :) 8brs 36pads Hari+

the plot thickens!!

16th April 2010, 09:34 PM

I always forget about TT. Too tired tonight, will have to attempt it tomorrow before the birthday sessions begins.... at about 8am!! :beer

4th June 2010, 10:38 PM
Haha same I forgot about it completely as well. I've been too busy trying to beat your SL, about 200 or so laps later and I can't improve lol. I'll put my TT in this post once I finish it later today.

4th June 2010, 10:51 PM
Gahhhhh I want in.

Poor little Time Trial's feeling rejected you know.

5th June 2010, 10:48 AM
Well... its been almost a month since I played WipEout HD (or ps3)... I made 2 online races and 2 attempts on the TT week challenge.
The result is...

44 Speed pads and pls don't ask about BRs lol

I'm feeling really unconfortable playing. It's like I never played this before ehehe I'll do the SL later ;)
