Help with Detonator

I'm not keen on Detonator or Zone Battle, but I love Eliminator. I'm trying to get gold (Elite) on every Fury campaign event, and I feel if it wasn't for Detonator I'd have no problem.

I struggle to get 200,000 points, even after 50 attempts. Both me and my step-dad (xTHORGODx) are rubbish at it, and most of the time we finish with 150,000-170,000 points.

Has anyone got any tips or advice for us?

Haha - I was just about to start a new thread called 'Detonator Duffer' - because I can(fairly) easily get elite golds in the races / time trials / speed laps - but I can't even get a bronze on novice when it comes to detonator! :(

So I'll just have a look on that thread (above) too, and hopefully find out what I'm doing so terribly wrong.
