@ JF - I can't really do that boost too well in SL. My SL time is now only 0.03 seconds (no that's not a typo) better than my best TT lap. I really don't get along with SL and boost starts.

I know that you can do a double BR at the top of the hill instead of a boost, and you can BR off the little ledge too (although I think that takes you quite a way off the ideal line around the last corner). All that might count for some way to compensate for not boosting at the hill, and if you can then boost in more or less a straight line and get an extra BR over the start/finish line, then it might work out well. However, I just don't have the skill with the boost BR there to pull it off, so I'm not the best person to advise on it I'm afraid. I also think it would be very difficult to do that method 5 times with consistency, so wouldn't expect to see it done by many in a phantom TT, and definitely not by me.

hey, im no expert in TT but i think that if you do that last boost a bit earlyer on the track you also have a extra br. because you now get the boost when your already on the line. if you try this and you get faster it would be nice to put me in the credits :P

just joking hope this make you nr 1. damm yeldar got to many nr1 spots. :P

Thx for advice mate, but I know how to make a better time. This one is not a "record-making-run", it was flying for fun, and quite good time is just... by the way ;)

btw. every jump in zone mode can be exploited to gain time in the air (=no damage). just nose up (hold), this will slow down ur ship too. it's very helpful @ syncopia while u r on the hunt for 130+ ;)

If this video was made to prove that Soa-booney is able to set WR like his friend Yeldar do, it don't works at all to me !
I just see a close screen footage of speedlaps and timetrial on apparently a brand new account (or an account imported on another ps3), and at the end of the video with enough time for an army of ninjas to disappear we are seeing someone answering to the name "Booney", with people laughing around, like if it was a good joke they made.
Wasn't it easier to show both the screen and the player with the ds3 (set on player one) on hands with the camera travelling to the player and to the tv ? that would be a really more convincing proof, yes !!
So no, your video isn't a proof, but don't care, it's only my opinion, i can be wrong, there's maybe a new wipeout genious called Soa-booney, living close to Yeldar the best wipeout HD player who already played on his friend's account to set top 10 times (conor buckley as a known example).
I'm just highly sceptical !!!

'Video wasn't exactly convincing given the apparent point of it was to cancel doubt. I mean really, if you're going to do something, do it right ey? Grab a controller, show it's the #1 input, and then record yourself playing with you and that controller in frame getting times in the realm of your own records. Shouldn't need to "set anything up" when it's that simple. Yeah, it could be the real deal. People obviously want to believe that. Why not show it?

All I can say is that some people have really glossed over the fact that it's far more likely for someone to be playing a trick (what more do teenagers want than laughs, anyway?) than have found a video game savant. It's common sense that someone such as myself who has put a lot of time into the game (probably 150-200 hours before I got my first WR, and it took me like 2 years to get to that point) would have doubts that someone who is nailing numerous WR's within their first month is totally legit. How on earth could you not be suspicious to some extent?

Unless this kid plays the game for more than 20 hours a week, it is unrealistic given the situation. Something on this scale, for all intents and purposes, never just happens. Yeah, I would totally suspect myself to be setting WR's in a game I've just started playing within a month when it's been out for 3 years and has a hardcore crowd... :rolleyes:

SoA_Booney and I play each other most evenings, and have lengthy chat sessions whilst we're playing. Now if it's not Scott, the lad in the video, but it's yeldar having a joke at my expense, and many other people's expense, well that would make him a frigging headcase. A proper, certifiable nutter.

His first wipeout HD trophy was earned on 08.06.2011 ! Well it's still possible that he played HD before under another account, (not necessarily yeldar's ok ;)), but in that case he should precise stuff like that !

2GB or 15 minutes length, I think. However, YT will just convert the video to a highly lossy format, so I'd try to reduce the quality on your end just to save time. Using windows movie maker will be fine for converting to a lower format (it has a setting for YT vids, too)

Would someone be kind enough to record a speed lap on Sol 2 Reverse, Venom class?

The top time on PSN is 27.22. My time is 29.89. I can clean it up to 29 flat, but I came up with a shortcut tonight. It's possible to boost off the bridge, roll, and clip the underside of the wing allowing you to roll a second time before landing. (I don't know if anyone's done this to get a better time than 29. This is the same shortcut used on Sol 2 Forward, but I haven't seen a SL of Sol 2 Reverse).

I don't know if this is enough to get me a sub 28 time, or if there are ways to squeeze rolls out of that section without boosting. If that is the case, I could spend the boost at the beginning of the lap, after the immediate U-turn and S turn. Whatever the case may be, if someone with a sub-28 second time could record and upload a video, I would be so grateful.

That double BR up the first hill in Sebenco Climb is nuts! I'd love to see what you do with Chengou Project Reverse, Venom.

Also, I've been racing on TDR Reverse a lot and found after the large hill and right turn, you can tilt up and boost just after the side-by-side speed pads and earn enough airtime to barrel roll through that tunnel. This sends me straight into the wall, though :/. Is it faster to just boost up the small hill leading up to the big hill, or is there a more efficient location to boost?

• It must be done at the split section of Ubermall.
• All players must run through it, kind of like a roundabout.
• Once you charge the boost gauge to its minimum value (0.3) you must boost.
• You can shield yourself (for obvious reasons :D)
• And... well, the first to reach the target zone wins.

Certainly, the score for Elite Gold Medal in Detonator is very high. I wanted to get all the gold medals in the Fury Campaign elite two years ago, but didn't manage to get a gold in a Detonator on Corridon 12; tried again a few times last summer and still wasn't capable of doing it.

Hey Cipher Check out the "Help with Detenator needed" Thread, Dark_Phantom and Darkdrium777 has posted some useful info on how to beat detenator, as for zonebattle.... try to get every zonepads on every lap and only boost when your bar is full ;)

edit: there's a way to mute the music within the game (when the loading screen appears, quickly press the PS button to show the XMB, then immediately press the PS button again before the loading screen disappears), so u can record just the SFX + ur playing sounds. afterwards whilst editing u can add the music to finally create ur masterpiece.

not really, cause my 'technique' has 2 major advantages:

1. the music is turned off only for that particular event (temporarily)
2. AND it shuts down the equalizer too (very helpfully in zone modes)

I guess you could also load an mp3 of like 30 minutes of silence and make a playlist that just loops that.... just sayin'

So that's why it get's silent at times. I thought my console were just messing with me.

The best way:
- use camera to record screen
- use laptop/PC to record sound from PS3 using audacity and play music from winamp instead of muted music in wipeout (it won't be recorded by audacity becouse it'll record only input sounds, outgoing sounds by headphone jack will have nothing to your recording)... just advice I'm using to not race without music as it's dumb :cowboy

You can add music in post, from windows movie maker (or whatever you use) which offers more flexibility using my method though . . .
