Dubstep is nice if you ask me, a bit crazy but i'm tired of everything else i was listening in the past year.

My two latest finds :D

501 - Special Request (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTHc1HvfUR0)

Funtcase - Make Our Day (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gOK1fmXek4)

@phaeton: yeah, those are great tracks there, have you heard Funtcase - 50 caliber yet? dunno if its been released yet or not, but if you find it, great track.

There's nothing more I enjoy more than cruising around in Eliminator with The Transformers animated movie OST blaring out at full volume especially belting out the words to "Dare" and "Instruments of Destruction".

But the rest of the time I have a more generic soundtrack used for single and tournament races and a special one for Zone and Detonator. But there's not much point going into depths unless anyone's really curious, both playlists number over 200+ tracks each and I don't think anyone wants to hear my musical tastes so extensivly.

On a tangent, is anyone else that plays WipEout also involved in a band? I should be getting a MySpace page up for mine soon if any one wants to hear how poor my drumming is ^^

Pendulum does work extremely well in the custom soundtrack folder for Wipeout. I find the first album Hold Your Colour works the best, does well in the Motorstorm series, does even better for WOHD.

Apparently, Evolution Studios thought so too, because Slam is the main theme, in the XMB and the main menu. I actually had no idea about this until a friend pointed it out to me :D

Some of my Zone using friends may want to check out Trentemoller if they haven't already.
I haven't tried it yet (haven't bought a CD of them) but most of their tracks are pretty long and calm sounding.

You can search for some of their music on Grooveshark (http://listen.grooveshark.com/) (This website is considered a pirate site in Denmark. Do not use if you are from there.)

I almost only play online, And Then my tracklist includes some ruff DnB tracks from artists like ; cooh, spor, current value, and switch technique. Really good stuff to het you're adrenalin pumping. For the tt's and weps off races I have the album 'one of us' from kryptic minds in my playlist. You guys should look that up.... It's awesome stuff :)

Anything from Detroit will probably fit the bill (not sure it has been mentioned already), not sure if I have any title off my head but Amazon by Jeff Mills will probably pump you to death on the track. I also do have some house in the track selection but it's not always as fitting as pure raw mechanical techno.

I tripped pretty hard on some Derrick May tracks while playing, like Illusion or Daymares it is what it is. Q by Kenny Larkin (or pretty much anything out of his Azimuth album) is also quite ace.

A favorite of mine is to have mixes. The fact that they flow is really nice when you do lap after lap on SL. You could try to get your hands on the 2005 Essential mix by Laurent Garnier @ Space, Ibiza, it does fit the WO bill. Essential mixes is a pretty good direction anyhow, if the annoucer or sometimes crowd noises is not a problem for you.

So to sum it up, just a few recom.
Amazon / Jeff Mills
Q / Kenny Larkin
Illusion / Derrick May R-Tyme
Cargo Cult / Suburban Knight
On and On / Aril Brikha
Sambou / Laurent Garnier
Clear / Joris Voorn
Probably anything by Kevin Saunderson

I would also have some italo disco titles to put forward but it is too shameful...

Custom playlists are one of the big draws of WipEout HD for me, even with my music taste :paperbag

Here's a taste of a couple of playlists I use to play WipEout to:

Kraftwerk - Tour De France
New Order - Blue Monday
(...)
Jan Hammer - Crockett's Theme

My man :g
Although I think the Aerodynamik version done for WO was really nice and that Crockett's theme is not the best track out of the Miami Vice OST.

Hi all,

I know there's a few threads about music but I want to get two points across where I know they'll be read.

1.) If people want a tune similar to Sasha - Xpander for racing around to on HD, there is an old school progressive track called Voyager - Super C which starts slow but the beat kicks in at 3:15 and its awesome and ideal for those longer races. (Got a 256 cbr mp3 if anyone wants?)

Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60Xhescqu_c

2.) I noticed a few people complaining about not having Wipeout 64 sound track in their collection of tunes, this might be due to the game rip floating about the net being poor quality or what not, so check this thread I made in the WO64 section about the CD - N64 Anthems which contains all 6 tracks from the pc games wipeout 64 tunes.

I don't know if the tron album is already suggested but sadly it's only music which I see worth of playing instead of official soundtracks. Altough some of the tracks had to be eliminated :?. And I added one remix of derezzed and it's the best music you can have with wipeout.

Here it is.

I change my track selections based on whether or not I'm online, offline or in zone mode.

For Zone mode I always use slightly indie or chillout stuff. I don't need pounding music to make the tension higher thanks. Band of choice at the moment is Coldplay - Rush of Blood or Manic Street Preachers - This is my truth what is yours.

For any other online music it varies. Mostly Pendulum. Favored track is The Other Side (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zENtEumtyBI)

for zone i tend to go for log lasting trance (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/user/maclover6?feature=mhee#p/f/13/kPmmHWSZwEA )

however a nice beat can work out real nice too

for online matches, i find them to short, my song never hits that moment where it starts before the round is over and i don't know about coldplay with wipeout lolz

i like coldplay, but with wipeout????

Has this been brought up before? (This is a looong thread).

Binaural beats are being studied as a way to modulate brainwaves such that the brain is induced into different states. Current studies range from exploring applications such as meditation, treating children with autism/asperger syndrome, studying for exams, and so on.

I'm wondering how they could affect Wipeout play.

The general idea is described in the wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats), but if you google around, you'll find other sources of info too.

I think I'm going to start experimenting, as soon as I can find my old stereo headphones.

[Edit]
These things have been around for a while, actually, but if you want some sources to try out immediately, check out the following site that has a few binaural mixes: http://squareeater.com/

over my week or so playing i've been listening to alot of Vocaloid music, mainly by Tripshots. i'd call it either light dance music, or very soft techno, but works particually well for my campaign games.
(warning: it's in Japanese, so not a good choice if you're not into non-english vocals =p)

Tripshots/Hatsune Miku - Anger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyC2BIYIATQ)
and
Tripshots/Hatsune Miku - Nebula (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmsq1P47uvI)

The videos are cringeworthy but i couldn't find them on Amazon =< (had to grab the album from itunes Japan myself)

Edit:
Pardon the name but "Blood Stain Child" produce a trance/Metal hybrid that i've always been a fan of but started to love in online races and tornaments, but not for your standard speedlaps/TTs as it's a little... agressive.

Some suggestions for Zone... for me it's all about long minimal repetitive tracks for zone, so...

Four Tet & Burial - Moth - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdTbgx5ZXSk
Underworld - Rez - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6XOuiqW0WI
Innerzone Orchestra - Bug In The Bassbin - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mInY6_o6PCE
Paperclip People - Throw - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B2UAjOsaVI

And of course you can never go wrong with some classic banging acid...

Stakker Humanoid - Humanoid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy8_kdeS02E
LFO - LFO - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpZVPSCv79U
Hardfloor - Acperience 1- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SGH_ZwGcZ0

Rez is particularly good on Syncopia cause it sounds amazing when it applies that filter that it uses when your ship is in mid air.

I listen primarily to DnB or vocal trance like Pendulum, Deadmau5, TC, High Contrast, Subfocus, London Elektricity, Bassnectar, The Qemists, Benny Benassi, Ferry Corsten, Oakenfold, etc. while playing, although sometimes it feels silly loading up a six minute plus song for a two minute race.

Occasionally I'll mix it up and listen to Guilty Gear soundtracks, The Offspring, RHCP and the like. You can race to anything honestly so long as you enjoy what you're listening to.

I may add links to specific tracks later for the more obscure stuff.

when I play wipeout I normally have the last CD I bought burnt onto my PS3 so it can get listened to alot right now I have the new Foo Fighters album(Wasting light) as one of my playlists and Guns and Roses Apitite for destruction which I got a loan of from my driving instructor( having a lessons really funny, Im like reversing round a corner trying to be so careful and theres some crazy rock anthem blasting out full pelt, its so hard to not sink my foot into the ground :P)
I dont always have rock music on at wipeout I just deleted my Pendulum album of it to save some space but when you do I think it makes it feel really like Fzero. It kinda fits it in a sort of differnt character from electronic music.

The Frozen Synapse soundtrack is currently on loop for my WipEout sessions, and damn it's a good soundtrack.

if you like the built-in music, you'll prolly enjoy this.
it's on sale on Steam (yes, the game thing steam) for £2 for today, but it's normally £4.

Nice 80s collection, @boycey83!

For Zone mode I've found Armin van Buuren's "A State Of Trance" works well, particularly A State Of Trance - "397" (03-26-2009). People have realized Zone mode offers a very different look and feel from the standard racing, thus, the music has to be fitted for it.

Skrillex - Scary monsters and nice Sprites - Juggernaut Remix
Skrillex - Cinema (Gary Go, Benny Bennasi)
Eminem - Won't Back Down
DJGHOSTS3V3N - Derezzed (Extended Remix, PM me for it, maybe ill post a link later)
DJGHOSTS3V3N - Meterlifitious (PM me for it, same thing as above)
Daft Punk - Fragile (Extended Remix)
Daft Punk - Derezzed (Dubstep Remix)

All of these songs have made me played better. Especially in Zone Battle 0.o

I try to stick to Liquid Drum and Bass, especially Nu:Tune, Logistics and Grafix. I try to avoid vocals, as they usually distract me when I'm trying to focus all my attention on the track. Generally it's clean and smooth when I'm in Zone or Time Trial, and Gritty or Heavy when I'm in a Single Race or Eliminator event. But mostly I like my music clean and smooth, I'm just that kind of guy.

-Nu:Tone feat. Logistics - Bleeper
-Nu:Tone - Balaclava/Balaclava In My System(feat. Natalie Williams)
-Logistics - Transporter
-Grafix - Unfaithful
-Grafix - Let Go
-Modu - Nema
-Modu - Can't Get Enough
-B-Complex - Beautiful Lies

For Zone mode, I've been listening to Madmen and Poet's "Scandinavian Sunday" album. It's got a nice chill jazzy groove to it.

I also play some of the tunes from Wipeout Pure or Pulse, I've got both soundtracks. :)

I used to race on stuff like black sun empire, cooh, gein and current value.

Now I have the 2 albums of cryptic minds in my playlist for a while...deep dark dubstep that really gets me in the right vibe especially in weps off races.

I mainly listen Trance and Dance songs; they give me all the focus I need, especially when playing Zone.

These are three tracks I have in my playlist if you want to hear them. :)

Slayer, Lamb of God, Six Feet Under, Pantera, Snot, to name a few.
If the music ain't hard and fast then I'm not hard and fast.
My Private race sound tracks are up to 80 songs now.

Greetings fellow racers! I have collected some musictracks i think fits perfectly into Wipeout HD. I have "timeremixed" all of them to make them fit when i race. Usually i try and make them fit for rapier, 4 laps. The music is mostly Dub/DnB/Electro by artists like Nero, Dirtyphonics, Sub Focus, Dj Fresh, Chase and Status. I would like to share them with you and was therefore wondering of any site i can upload them to. I also wish to add that i have done it pretty roughly but i am pretty happy with the results. (Excuse my bad english)

Yesterday i played with some good old dutch hardcore tunes. It was an experience, especially zone mode.

Sons of Aliens - In love with You (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIs40BVdu3c)
Sons of Aliens - Invasion of the Intruders (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkCKyFRbU0A)
Da Joker - Willow (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg5LGtACpPY)

EDIT: I'm now playing with Goa in WipEout.
This is a new dimension for the game. I'm with Goa Head vol.1 and i'm enjoying a lot, this could be the ost perfectly, it fits amazingly good.
