I have sort of a confession. I didn't get WipEout HD, or it's expansion pack Fury when it was released because I didn't have a PS3. :?

However I got the PS3 slim just after it was released and it's an awesome piece of hardware. :p Anyway the day I got my PS3 was the day I got both WipEout's and started playing them.

I completed WipEout HD, and Fury campaigns, and got the transcendence trophy, all of them in roughly a week. How about that? :rock

Transcendence: 10/09/09. Today basically. :)

Problem is that Wip3ou7 doesn't visit often enough to edit the first post, and if/when he comes back there will be like 50 people to add... If there was a way to insert a post from someone at the top it should be done, or insert something that anyone can edit. I doubt it's possible, I've never seen that on a forum.~~

It would be possible for me to start a new thread, and then merge this thread with it, but that would mean I would have to do the editing myself. it was good cos i got 4 gold and one platinum trophy in 3 nights which i thought was cool..:hyper:hyper

hardest one to get was elite campaign cos it was so long and i got stuck on
sol 2 rapiar for some reason..probally cos i couldnt pull off enough BR;s.took about an hour to win it.:-

favourite trophy was elite arcade cos it's actually useful and i felt it improved my gameplay and would play it again..:+

zone zeus was good too..my next challenge is zone 100 i guess..thing i like about the zone is you get to finish your song on it.which never happens i a race.:dizzy:dizzy

zico is pointelss to me as i never race those slow speeds.:turd:turd

Finally!

I got the Elite Arcade, Airbreaker, Zone Zeus, Beat Zico and all Fury trophys and several more the same day/night a couple of weeks ago. But the goddamned Bling Brigade was in the way for me to get Platinum. But today it happened. Wohoo! :D

I never thought I would get Platinum in this game (my first platinum btw) but when I really tried I realised it was possible. And even easier than I thought. :P But not easy!

Finally got Zone Zeus today on Syncopia and did the ritualistic crashing out (probably...) just a few milliseconds later. :D

Read up some tips on here about how other people achieved it and will have to say ProblemSolver's tip of only 3 attempts a day or so worked great. Was increasing my max Zone by about 5 Zones a day without too much hair tearing... and did a 15 Zone jump to 75 today. :P

I did glance at the zone indicator at 67, but reminded myself to focus on the track and not how much is left to go (also advice from here), and before I knew it I was at 75. I guess most people experience the opposite...? A slow down in time once you hit 70? :P

Had calm music playing and the ingame sounds off (the critical shield bleeping puts me off). So, even though I crashed out at 75, I didn't know how much health or what zone I was on (Wip3out HUD).

EDIT: Oh yea, it's my first Platinum. :D

Another trick to get rid of the critical shield bleeping is, if you have 5.1 surround, to simply unplug the center speaker.

You'll still be able to tell when you have low shields, due to the muffling of the music. Very nice.

Beat Zico by 2 hundreds. Did 4 barrel rolls, but I'll say I did the trophy on good sideshifting over speed pads as the run was otherwise a pretty poor performance.

I thought the last tournament for Elite Season Legend would be a real pain, but it was surprisingly "easy". Won with only 38 points. After Sebenco I though all was lost, but managed to get back in somehow.

Chenghou Project and Sol2 (both forward) were the trickiest by far. Went for Harimau or Icaras in most of my attempts, all courses.

For Zone Zevs I used 60% sensibility on the stick, and 10% on the air brakes, had pitch on as well for better execution of barell rolls on Syncopia (stopped barrel rolling at Zen). Sat 1 meter from a 50 inch sceen to immerse myself completely. Sound off.

I'm also at 98% and missing 1 'no skill' trophy :P. It's Gemini (play 20 split screen races). I played a split screen race once and was so turned off by the frame rate I never even mention the game has a split screen mode when anyone is over :turd. Maybe i'll get two of my friends to play 19 split screen races one day :rolleyes:

Yea, for gemini just hit the PS button and change your controller to '2'. Select player two's ship and ram yourself to death. Then just select '1' again and finish the race.

Hooray, finally can post here! What a way to ring in the new year!

Wipeout HD is the first Wipeout I've played. I picked it up early in 2009 and got just about every trophy except for Zone Zeus and Airbraker. I tried for close to two weeks but in the end frustration got the best of me and I moved on.

I just picked up the game again after a 6 month break to try the Fury xpac. My skills were shot, but over the last 4 days I managed to get my zone skills back up and picked up both trophies on Syncopia. Worst part? The adrenaline rush, pounding heartbeat, and shaky hands that kicked in as soon as I got to Mach 1. I choked several times at Zone 74 because I'd fall apart under pressure once I saw I was close.

Now to sit back and enjoy all the Fury content....

do zone battle races, no need to crash the other ship as it is done automatically. set it on the lowest zone possible on AP forward... then repeat.

As of 18:59 Central European Time today, January 31st 2010, I have achieved Wipeout HD Transcendence. It was with the completion of Zone Zeus on Syncopia that I did, after a game time of 86 hours 17 minutes and 16 seconds.

Long time coming, but well-earned!

My excitement is however muted with the news of the layoffs at Studio Liverpool. I salute you, Psygnosis. You were fantastic.

I reached Transcendence on 11-04-2010 16:37 somewhat later I did the last fury trophies to reach 100% completion.

I took me about 65 hours, that also included some online play.

Got my second Transcendance (with my US account: afatsuoM2). Got it last saturday. Don't know the time. Will look it up as soon as I'm home.

I went through the trophies pretty fast, but that meant low loyalty points. So WipEout Disciple took the longest.

Btw, it's funny to be at a low online ranking and beating higher ranked players. :beer I'm level 38 with my "normal" account, but only somewhere around level 14 with this account. Beating level 50+ players never felt this good.

Im Sooo glad to join you here my fellow elite wipers! Yes the Bear has transcended!!! Zz was the last trophy i achieved. What a rush reaching supersonic. Ive honestly Not experienced anything like it playing a game before! wohd is certainly my proudest Plat and id like to just say u guys are friggin awesome thanks for all the help, advice and support especially with the bling brigade trophy. What a bloody joke that was! When i started out on wipeout a few of my buddys laughed at me when i said i was taking it on sayin it was near impossible and i was waisting my time. Well screw them! losers lol, in your face!!! Id very much like to keep in contact with everyone ive met on here. I resolved that I was going to get it today, played pretty much non stop from 11 am to get the remaining trophies (with a break for dinner and a couple of beers lol) and transcended at 2:50 am 1/6/2010.

Doing elite campaign legend meltdown tournament when i flew over the line of ubermall to win and had 43 pts when I saw the next ship had 31 with only sol left to do I had the biggest smile ever haha.

Big respect to everyone who has this and everyone who's going for it too.

mine was even longer
when I first got the game (a couple of weeks after it came out) I was a complete fail at it (it's very different to the first four games and I'd never played the PSP ones) but as I got better I started to get a few of the harder trophies when I beat zico (after over a year of trying) I decided to have a proper shot at platinum
I got it about a month ago

wipeout is one of those (old-school) games that are hard to master but once you do there is nothing more satisfying!(maybe nothing ;)... )
personally i ve never tried wipeout during the psone or ps2 era (i was young and stupid^^).
but once i saw the psp version in 2005 i bought a psp just for wo pure!
it was hell at first but eventually i mastered it and became my fav psp game :)
i bought a ps3 last december and wipeout hd with it.
the handling was different than pure but my experience with tracks helped a lot.
it took me 3 months for platinum.
then i made another account and it took me only 10 days...

my previous experience with wipeout,my love for racing games( i'm a big gt fan),my love for space and electronic music certainly helped a lot!
so my point is that wipeout is hard but you need days of practice to become good, that's why we all like it i guess ;)

WipeoutHD was the first Wipeout game i owned, i was way over my head when i got it, but i was the same with the hard trophies, 3000+ laps it took me to get Zico, just couldnt get the BR onto the bridge, it was infuriating. But once that was outta the way, ECL was just practicing the tracks. Everything else i got over a year ago.

yeah zico is a really hard. (not as hard as elite campaign though imo)
i find that its better to try 50-100 laps and take a break rather than keep trying for 500 because you need to be cool and patient!
the first time i wanted to break the controller, took me 400 laps i think.
the second time was a breeze,only 30 laps...
practice and patience is the key.

I got mine around a month and a couple of days after d/l but alot of hours played.

I'm sure anyone on this site is better than I am at wipeout as im pretty noob but if anyone having alot of trouble with those tough golds and platinum just a couple of tips from my personal experience playing.

Zeus - Make sure you're not playing on a laggy television. I play on an hdtv flatscreen and was having alot of trouble consistently getting past about zone 65 on anulpha pass, but when i hooked the ps3 up to my old portable tele with the SCART connector I got it on the first attempt.

Zico - Got really lucky with this one as the first time I managed to execute 4 basic BRs in a lap I got the trophy. (2 in the middle, 1 onto and 1 off the overpass). so didnt have to spend any time refining the lap, but felt the lap was pretty poor tbh, only hit 13 speed pads most deem to hit 14, so just pratice the rolls and you'll get it.

ECL - Def the toughest ime. especially on meltdown races. I think the AI is similar to 2097 which i played alot of in that the enemy ships are usualy in groups of 2 or 3 and the AI will let you catch one group at a time then move onto the next. So sometimes its best to focus on getting past the ships immediately in front of you and be aggressive with weapons rather than getting perfect laps all the time. (obviously its not quite that simple and you do need to be fast too). I found on the occasions I was really fast and got into first place on lap 2 or so the AI would just destroy me with rockets and missiles usually. Sometimes the AI just says ' No, you're not winning this one', it def takes some perseverance and a cool temper at times.

Well, I transcended tonight :D, Was hilarious reactions in the chat room with Yeldar, Ace, Andybob, Woopzilla etc. Going crazy lol, hell I even got a rap from Yeldar xD ("Transcendee, Jay Kay Pee" Trademark it Yeld!") Then I got a padawan esque speech from Ace, haha, crazy good stuff :D

I was thinking the same thing, but hit a snag.
The only way that it would work starting a new Transcendent thread is if it was made a sticky.
Reason being, if you left it floating and it dropped off the first HD page due to no new additions in a while, somebody might do a search for it instead of going page a few pages and looking for it,.
The search could come up with the old thread which they copy and paste the last list into yet another thread started by them, with their name added.
It could get very messy with multiple Transcendence threads appearing like a mutant Mitosis if you see what I mean.;) :lol

I transcended back in January (1/3/2010).

Last trophy I got was that pointless 2-player trophy (Gemini?). Thanks for a tip in this thread I finally got without having to resort to playing 20 laggy under 30fps races with a friend. Just do some multiplayer zone battle races instead! Genius!

Thanks to Lassary who stayed with me for a 12 tournement, the Bling crew, and all the guys on the forum who offered advice.
The most useful advice? It has to be side shift. All the time.
The most difficult part? It has to be elite campaign legend, there were some tough moments around speed freak (believe it or not) and of course Meltdown.
The most enjoyable part? Zone, the feeling of speed and flow, just beautiful. I can see why Problem Sover is hooked!
Really quite happy at the moment!

Please, if you want your name added to the list, DON'T copy and paste the list with your name just added to it, it takes up far too much space, irritates the moderators and the list get's well out of whack.
39 people over the space of a year were missing off the last list posted because of people doing this.

I guess some trophies are not really indicators of skill. I bet that there are some online who have not gotten the Transcendence trophy but are better than me when racing.
I think that trophies are just indicators that you've managed to do something in the game.

Agreed (although I suspect Jasmin is far from rubbish). I am aiming to get Transcendence one day, I'm on about 75% at the moment. I think trophies are an indicator of how dedicated somebody is to exploring all the different aspects of the game, and being rewarded in some way for doing so. Like you say, some people will be awesome racers but couldn't care less about "The Amphi-scenic route".

I'm currently going back through both campaign modes on Elite, but slowly, just the odd race here and there. Still prefer online and zone though so I spend much more time on those.

Well, congrats to recent Transcenders :)
Even if a bit off topic, I thought this topic was great to share my happiness for completing the Fury Campaign in hard difficulty. :g
I started some times ago but I don't like eliminator or combat zone at all... so I quickly did all speed lap, single race... but had a lack of motivation for the other ones.
As I was in holidays until today, I finished it.
I admit that the Tech Da Ra detonator in the last grid is a hell of a challenge! When I finally managed to hear "Bronze medal awarded", then "Silver medal awarded"... and then exploded I said "noooooooooooooo" (this shouldn't be a surprise for people who where at the EWC this year :g ) ... and I heard "Gold medal awarded".

WTF??!!??
I suppose some bullets I fired before I had exploded gave me the remaining points I needed.

I now have all gold medals in both campaign, hard difficulty. I'm happy! :)

Well... I will still loose online against most of you... but it's not that I'm not good ... it's just you guys are not humans! :g

Good effort Geeza. I still need elite campaign legend, arcade perfect and beat Zico, just haven't got around to really trying for them. On the face of it WOHD isn't a massive game, but when you start properly going through "racebox" it's huge.

Funnily enough Wipeout HD was my first Platinum.

I found out later that it's a coveted Platinum that's for sure.
t does hold some kudos at other forums if you are found having it.
Like you are a serious gamer to have put the effort in to get it :clap

Many have heard the calling to get it, but less than 200 Zoners have reported achieving Transcendence. 8)

Thanks everyone! it was hard but when you dedicate a few hours to it, its yours! Zone Zeus was the passion killer... 40 zones was my best but i kept beating it by 1 or 2! so when i got the zeus trophy i got the passion back!
It is a hard platinum to get, its won an award...

I'm so happy I got this today, while racing with zoners...I would have liked to start and end my 50 Eliminations with racers I know...started with kanar and ending with matplayer1 today, and Constrictor4U just missed the honour...
107:52:22 yayay all done this Trophy hunting garbage!! I'm positive this will be the only Platinum I ever get.
Lately I've been resorting to rather cruel and completely unscrupulous conduct so I'm happy that I can go back to just trying to race faster and also, now I'll move on to learning these Fury tracks...
So, back to racing the proper way, LEt's bE friEnds! :)

That only a bit more then 4 days XD

For the platinum, i need to get 2 golds.
The racebox challange, i still need a few tracks elite phantom. And about 4 tracks in story mode and 3 tournaments on elite. then i can call myzelf a master... or atleast crazy, for doing this platinum.

I was reading in the site, about platina's and what the most hard one is, it is the most hard one, for racegames. and in the top 4 of overall hardest platina there is. so congratzzz to all you that got this one.

Uh oh, now the secret is out. Well, not quite, if I told you how to make such a time machine as I have, and you actually tried to use it, it would kill you. 8) Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on the actual gameplay...or there would be some very strange things happening. :twisted

Finished up the platinum over the weekend. Certainly one of the most satisfying I've completed. I've got just a couple of the Fury trophies left, but plan to finish those up soon too.

Yeahh, finally i got today, 11.02.2011, 18.01 p.m., my WipEout platinum. :g Zeus trophy was the hardest for me, i am sooo happy. I know, this will be my one and only platinum forever, because for me only WipEout rocks. :rock

Neither am I.
I kept putting Zone Zeus off for what must of been a year before doing it, but then that was only because of the circumstances I found myself in.
The only reason I got Zone Zeus is because my nieces boyfriend at the time though he was doing me a favor by using the then available zone glitch to get the trophy for me.
I was livid when I found out.
I vowed to smash the record that he had set under my name, and eventually did so after some very long and determined sessions over a week.
The game became untainted again, and I then knew that I had finally earned the Transcendence trophy.

I have Transcended as of last night! 'Bling Brigade' was the only trophy holding me back from getting Platinum any earlier. Other than that I thought the challenges for the trophies were really good, and pretty unique compared to most games. :D

Yes! Just beat Zico this evening. I was determined to do it tonight after so many failed attempts. I did about 60 laps earlier tonight, getting down to 30.91. Had a break for a couple of hours, then tried again and got 30.80 on lap 2 :g. Mad thing is it didn't feel like that good a lap either. Anyway I'm so glad to have it out of the way, and very proud to have such a difficult Platinum.

finally got it last night :D feels so good to have that huge weight off my shoulders lol

and man, zico wasn't even that hard =/ well, once you know the barrel rolls it really is pretty simple... find out how to gain on your ghost, and pwn that mofo repeatedly..

just dont ask me to do it again :D

but zone zeus... dear god that took forever... i was shaking on zone 74 so hard... once i heard the trophy click, i still had a ton of health but i jus through the damn controller on the table, flipped off my tv n walked away fist pumping..

a game hasn't made me feel so proud since i was a kid =x

Got home this evening and beat Zone Zeus on 2nd try :hyper

Took a few hours total. Beat Zico I did ages ago, so can't really tell how difficult it would be now, but Arcade Perfect was a pain in the ass to do properly.

But worth it since I can now race all tracks properly online :rock

I tried the airbrake only trophy a while back, got to zone 35...
And Beat Zico is proving a real bitch too, not to mention I haven't even attempted the Racebox Elite Phantom trophy etc etc...

Never say never. Once you've done most of them and only have a handful left it will nag at you until you just HAVE to do them. More importantly as you play other aspects of the game, your overall level will improve significantly, and the trophies will become easier.

I think the Airbraker trophy is Zone 50. As with Zone Zeus, head straight to Syncopia. After a bit of practice it's a fairly easy trophy to get, not much harder than doing it normally to be honest.

Beat Zico was the one that I struggled with, but now that I've done it once I've found it easy to beat. Got down to 30.44 yesterday and will aim to get a sub-30 time soon. Need to nail a couple of the more advanced BRs first though.

Use side shifts instead of steering to shave vital seconds off your beat zico time.
It's actually possible [very hard to do, but it has been proven] to beat zico just by using side shifts and not doing any barrel rolls.

That is either reflective of how little/short a concentration span today's video game players have, or how wussy they are in regards to actually "Learning" a game.

It seems "instant trophy gratification" is the point.

I'm sort of getting into that "Trophy Hit" myself, but only because that's pretty much all the satisfaction your labial to get out of today's games.

Where's the "in-game" Challenge?
The one that you beat, then it opened up a whole newer/harder/faster level?
You don't get that any-more.
I remember beating the "Piranha Challenge" for the first time in WO 2097.
YAH!, It opened up new tracks and a whole new speed class!

Give me that sort of satisfaction in a game now days.....please!

I feel that Trophies somewhat support modern game structure regarding in game content. Older game generations frequently required the player to beat a certain mode/level/whatever to unlock new in game content. These days, most (if not all) of what the game has to offer is available from the get go, such as all the characters and vehicles (Tekken 6, Forza).

Unlocking in-game content is usually more satisfying than getting a trophy, but when developers make good trophy challenges it can be just as rewarding. WOHD trophies set such excellent challenges, which is why Transcendence is so freaking satisfying :D

I want to platinum Demon's Souls, but the trophies I'm left with require farming for upgrade stones, which isn't appealing at all. It's a good example of bad trophy challenges, because the game (and Dark Souls) is all about how rewarding it is to overcome each hard level and boss. Seriously that game needed a "beat the game without dying" trophy, instead of 10 upgrade stone bronze trophies.

Depends on how people see trophies I guess; some get them purely for trophy count and boasting rights, others aim for a trophy for the genuine challenge it sets.

I've seen that in many sites,but,as far as i know,Impossible is a word for something that isn't possible,but seems I'm wrong or the internet is like SMB 3's 4th world : Everything larger

I don't know how accurate those figures are.
Is it reflecting the data collected from trophy card holders only?
I think after 3 years and several freebee give-aways of the game there would be more than 81,000 people that have it.

When you see things like the Double Kill trophy listed as very hard [you can get that in one eliminator match] you can't take the difficulty ratings seriously.
