Kevlar

I really have no idea what ive done wrong

-The files are in MP3 format
-Ive follwed the instructions to a T-'...acess the root directory of your Memory Stick/create a directory there called MUSIC. Inside that directory, create another directory called WIPEOUT...'
-Ive got no corrupt files

Can anyone help?

I had a problem like that before. All I can think of is to check the bitrate and make sure the mp3 sample rate is 44Khz in stereo. I solved my problem by updating my FW, but I'm not sure if that will help here.

You can also take a look at this (http://wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4342)

thanks

EDIT: About the bitrate, is what is the bitrate 'boundry'?-all of these tracks bitrate are 320kbps
Also, its not that they arent playing, they just dont show up at all

How do you check the 'Khz'?

PSP XMB: MUSIC-->WIPEOUT-->select track--> Triangle--> Information --> scroll down

Kevlar
27th April 2008, 04:29 PM
Thanks, looks like my tracks are 'just' over 44khz(44.100) :(
You'd think they'd put it in the manual in the first place though

That's what most people mean by 44Khz, that's the standard rate, it should work.

Kevlar

Still wont show up on playlist in-game :/(but I can play them on the psp main menu though)

Got any DRM on them?

Kevlar
27th April 2008, 06:51 PM
DRM?(sorry im useless when it comes to these terms)

omega329
27th April 2008, 07:02 PM
Digital rights management, usually on songs when you download them through iTunes and other music stores
If you got the songs off a CD using Windows Media Player, there should be a setting when you first do it asking if you want them to have DRM, drm is the recomended setting but I set it to off so I know I can send them to other people.

Kevlar

I dont think they have DRM on them
EDIT: I got them from here http://gh.ffshrine.org/ (The actual songs are a soundtrack from a game, but the actual bgm was'nt released seperately so)

This is really bugging me now, I want to know what isn't working...
2 Questions
1. Which tracks are they? I'd like to see if I can get them to work.
2. Do any other tracks work?

Kevlar
27th April 2008, 09:46 PM
1.The tracks im using are here(more specifically 'starship phoenix under attack', 'koros command center', 'accessing the big gun', 'journey to the launch center'(yeah, im wierd/sad, but these would make great tracks to race to)-just scroll down) http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/1662 -All of them ripped from the game

2. As far as I know its the same thing with every track

omega329

Working fine on mine
err... the tracks appear on the bottom of the music list?

You're not weird/sad, Rachet and clank is awesome! I've got all the games apart from ToD and Size Matters on PS2 (got it on psp though) hell, I even completed 3 + Gladiator/deadlocked 100%, all skill points, all weapons fully upgraded, everything.

ooh... getting flashbacks from that music...

Maybe it's a problem with my copy of the game..my psp has turned off when going on online multiplayer on some occasions(which is strange, because I bought the game on February 25th). Maybe they work in-game but dont show up? my music list has consistently been 16, and ive checked several times.

Did'nt expect to see an R&C fan here, :) (wish I had a PS3 to play ToD >.<)

Yeah, it's pretty surprising what you'll find on these forums.
2 final questions, what firmware are you using? and, what type of memory stick are you using?

Kevlar
28th April 2008, 06:32 PM
I started playing on the 32MB memory stick I got with my Psp,and recently copied to a 2GB as I running out of space. Er... a bit more specific?(firmware)

PSP software version, 3.60, 3.90, 3.93 ect... There were some troubles with pure multiplayer on the earlier 3.x ones. I'm just wondering if this might have anything to do with it.

Kevlar
28th April 2008, 06:44 PM
Its version 3.95, which im sure is the latest

ok, well... ermm... ah... I'm sorry, I'm completely out of ideas, I wish I could help you.
As a last chance thingy, what is the exact name you named the folder?

Kevlar
28th April 2008, 06:52 PM
I named the folder 'WIPEOUT'<--exactly(and the folder before that 'MUSIC', of course)

Have you formatted the stick before you started to use it?

*If you haven't, make sure you copy everything onto a computer!×*

omega329
28th April 2008, 07:24 PM
I was thinking that, but surley he wouldn't be able to play the game?
That explains why he had to add the MUSIC folder!
well done md!

Kevlar
28th April 2008, 08:06 PM
I feel a bit stupid now:dizzy
Wont my files become corrupt? :<(have'nt tried before)

omega329
28th April 2008, 08:11 PM
Formatting will wipe your memory stick,so copy all your files from the memory stick to your computer first, then format your memory stick, then copy the files back to the memory stick, clicking "yes to all" on that popup that moans about folders allready being there. This should work

mdhay
28th April 2008, 08:13 PM
Which is why you should copy/move everything onto a computer.

Damn, you beat me.

omega329
28th April 2008, 08:27 PM
Seroiusly, If you do forget to copy your memory stick, I'll probably do this in real life:
:brickwall
I'll even youtube it...
and make a gif animation

with blood.

Kevlar
28th April 2008, 08:31 PM
Well, I copied 'PSP' to my comp, formatted, then moved everything back...and its not there :|(well, ive got another savefile on my other memory stick :/)

I could punch a kitten right now
