Is anyone having as much trouble with this as i am.. the record is 40 seconds, and i cant get even close.. like 41:56 was my best.. the only way i got my best time 36:96 was by triggering the first bridge up, then turboing off of the top and into the mountain to the left.. miraclously i ended up in the tunnel and was fairly far ahead... but shouldnt you be able to beat the record without "cheating" ? and i was using pirhana at 100%, and their record is with feisar!!

are you referring to the second challenge @ madrashee? the gold time is sub-37s - i have done it maybe 20 - 30 times since Saturday and after the initial learn the track phase i just can't get to 37s. every time it's between 37.4ish and 38.0ish even on "pefect laps" and going for as many speed pads as possible - what's the trick?

what ship are you using?
And do you have damage simulation on or off?

im using pirhana at 100% with damage simulation off... and they used feisar at 100% and their record is at least 1.5 seconds faster than mine unless i "cheat"... im just wondering if they had to "cheat" to get their time also.. cause that just doesnt sound right.. or is there a secret path i dont know about?

are you using your airbrakes and getting all the speedup pads you possibly can?

Your problem might be that you're using a 100% Pirhana. Try a 96% Prihana, or something. Drop all your airbrake upgrades. Brakes slow you down, you know? 8 )
If you find that you need more powerful airbrakes for some turns, slowly upgrade them till you've got just barely enough.
That and some more practice might take off a couple seconds.

I just pulled a 39.56 on this track. 100% piranha, no shortcuts...I'll tell you what I did.
it was my second lap of the session, so I used my boost just before the start of the second lap. that way I pretty much used 2 boosts on my winning lap. when you come to the bridge, LEAVE IT DOWN. I found that moving it up adds maybe .5 seconds to your time. Use the second boost at any long straight you find.

I don't know about that. My best lap is 35:18, and I DID use the ramp shortcut. I couldn't get close to that time if I didn't.

I did it in 35.94 using the ramp. In race mode I can do it in 34.78 oddly enough.

because in race mode you can get more turbos. And leave the bridge down. It helps a lot.
