I actually just noticed a little video out icon located next to what I thought was just the headphones socket. Does anyone know whether this is only usable by games/umds that are specifically designed for it? Should I read my PSP manual?

Great videos! I'm working on some as well but I doubt they will be as impressive as yours :)

Should I read my PSP manual?

Yes, yes you should ;)

If you have a PSP slim, and a TV that supports 480p (progressive scan), and the proper connection cable (~$20 USD), you can play your PSP on the TV! Works very well, though, as Kandang says, it takes a bit of getting used to. And it probably looks best played on a smaller TV (on a large TV, the blown up PSP game will look like ass, or at least, like an Nintendo 64 game). Definitely worth checking out!

isn't there a way to seep the psp screen at the same time as the TVs??

Nope, it's one or the other-- you basically just use the PSP as a controller when using the line out function.

Tried playing with the tv output but it felt really weird, so i've refrained myself from it. I'm using it with other games but don't feel much of a big lag. Hope I can cope when wipeout hd comes out too.

try the tv again! the sound and picture quality will be much better even if filmed with a cam as you are doing now
check out some of asas pure vdos on youtube.

there's alway the option of feeding it straight to a pc and then fixing it there but it's a big hustle I'm sure.

also since you are on top of almost every track in the rankings, you wouldn't mind
a bit of disadvantage against the rest, now would you? 8)

Second of all: Are you playing @333mhz because your Pulse runs much, much smoother than mine.:naughty

It's probably a visual effect caused by the shitty framerate of youtube vids (15 fps IIRC). In some parts, it looks even smoother (or, should I say faster?) than @333Mhz.

KANDANG
1st February 2008, 12:07 AM
to clarify, the white slim isn't on cfw. it's legit and the vids were brought to you with quite a bit of practice 8)

after capturing the vids and loading them on my laptop, 640x480 fullscreen seems slower than when i shrink them to size for uploading to youtube.

No one is doubting you KANDANG. At least not me. I was theorizing because it really does look "smoother" or "faster" or whatever than the real thing on some parts of some videos.

Really great skills, Kandang :twisted :D Your Platinum Rush video is the best argument for getting rid of Barrel Rolls that I have ever seen. Of course you should do them at every chance, and I will also when I`m good enough, but I don`t think Wipeout was ever meant to be like that. For me, we have to do those BRs, but it spoils the track. It`s similar to flying through walls and missing half the track on SE.

It think it was said elsewhere that BRs may have been put in as a feature for "noob" players. I don`t understand that argument because very few players will ever develop the skills to BR like that. It increases the divide, but it is very, very skillful, good job K! :)

A big thumbs up :+ for you KANDANG. Very impressive stuff once again. I enjoyed so much.

At the moment I am busy with The Amphiseum White, just like you I am doing the turbo from prevous lap to land into the corner with a BR boost to give you enough speed and height to do another BR and then swoosh into the long uphill right and using the boost just at the end of the lap onto the finish. But I can not come up with a lower lap time in speedlap the 23.85. What is your aproach here?

I think being able to pull off that dual BR is key to beating the top times. If you land perfectly on both accounts and are able to complete a PL, i'm sure you'll beat that time. I haven't tried TTing that map in awhile, djmaniac has a good time there on TT 23:19, i remember about a month + ago when i tried my hands on that map, i spent a long time trying to beat it and then just moved on and couldn't be bothered. WOW, these videos are brilliant i could learn from those, they have given me a view of the way the air brakes should be used...thnx. But it doesnt end there as i remember joining a few online games with your name in the list (why is it that the other online players ships are pointing towards the sky?) Im on nearly every weekend theifing someone elses wireless :P

erm... on the AV front Sony and the game shop GAME are really picking a fight as they only sell the HD lead, the noraml phono lead cant support game content. But on the GAME website they advertise a Component phono lead for just £2 more than the standard phono lead (oh and apparently there not allowed to go on there website in store :turd it smells) Is there a cable that isnt HD and supports games??

Hi, I wanted to open this thread just to be able to share with each other videos of WZ pilots TTing to get the best times.

If anyone wants to post their own videos please do so!

I'll start with a video I just recorded of me playing this week's TT challenge on Tech De Ra White - Rapier speed class.

The quality could be better but this is the most I got out of Google Video:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-269842054450719936&hl=en

Hope it helps, at least as a reference! :)

NeXaR_QroN
14th February 2008, 11:49 PM
The pointing-to-the-sky ships is a thing related to lag, I think. Usually, when on smooth conection they don't do that. For example, I rarely see that when playing ad-hoc with my friends, but when someone lags, it happens.

I could be wrong, of course.

I agree. It seemed to go away when I moved to 3.80 firmware, but was back tonight.

btw Kandang, TT videos would be perfect! 8)

Nice quality video DJM. Google video beats You Tube for quality, I think. I can get round the rest of that track as fast, although I have to admit I do miss the crucial last speed pad too often - needs practice. But I really can`t pull off that combo-BR on the jump, I just don`t get anything like the lift off required on landing for the second one, not even close.

I have a request for vids-- can somebody record a run (even a shitty run) on the new DLC tracks? Us North Americans can't get them yet but I'd really like to see them!

Also-- I agree with the notion that time trials and speed laps make the best material for vids. Races and tournaments are fun to watch but not so interesting and helpful :)

DjManiac21
15th February 2008, 06:05 AM
I see that, I just thought that Kandang made this thread initially to share vids of the tracks, some pilots were asking for TT videos and I thought it would be a good idea to have a TT video thread to discuss, mainly, TT videos from everyone.

We'll keep them here then :)

KANDANG
15th February 2008, 06:53 AM
imho, it will be hard for others to look for djmaniac's TT vids if the video thread gets longer. Unless he updates his first vid post and then everyone can refer to it if they want to view the vids.

My idea is to stay like we are now with that thread and making a new sticky topic of only video links with associated names ( kandang, djmaniac, and others who want to post their own)
People will have to PM me and i ll add those new video links into that sticky thread.
And here we can discuss about the videos themselves.

All right so as I said on your Youtube video let me explain how you could get sound.

I. First, you need to download and install Audacity, it is free and very easy to use (Especially if you're only going to do sound recording ;))
[Audacity Download] (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)

(I don't know if linking to such software here is allowed, please remove the link only if it is not allowed)

II. So now that it is installed, you've got to hook up your PSP to your PC using a wire like this one (http://www.datapro.net/products/stereo-cable-3-5-mm-m-m.html). (Stereo male 3.5mm to Stereo male 3.5mm cable) Either plug it in your input on your soundcard (I believe most PCs nowadays are equipped with a headphone and microphone jack at the front, you can use the microphone jack, or if you have a sound card with installed drivers, like a Realtek soundcard which I have, just plug it in at the back and set it to "Line Entry" in the drivers for the correct input you plugged it in).

III. Next, you've got to set up your computer so that it can record the sound entering it. Now, depending on whether you used a microphone entry or set one of your sound card inputs to line entry, you will have to do only one of the steps below, but both start the same way.

Hit start->Run and type in "sndvol32" without the quotes. This will boot the volume controls for your PC. If you haven't done so already I recommend you go into Options->Preferences and check everything under both categories listed in the drop down menu (Or it might be done simply by clicking on "Playback" or "Recording" if you have a built in sound card instead.) Now, select the window that corresponds to "Recording" and click OK. this should switch you to the controls for the sound volume for every input available on your PC (Since you checked them all for easy access, because you will be returning there often). Now here is where it is different.
3a) If you have a sound card and used one input on it as "Line in", Mute all channels excluding "Stereo Mix" and "Line Volume". Additionally here is where you can set the general volume for recording on the left since if it is too high it might cause some distortion and destroy the sound (Find out through testing multiple recordings with Audacity).
3b) If you used your microphone in, Mute everything excluding "Stereo Mix" and obviously "Microphone In". Again you may have to set your general volume according to tests.

[REMEMBER: Once you are done with recording, revert to default parameters, or you might not be able to listen to music on your PC depending on what you have checked (muted).]

IV. Once everything is set up, start recording sound and video, play, stop, and mix sound and video together using programs like Windows Movie Maker. :)

Hopefully this will help you get sound ;)

Thanks Ben, it`s interesting to know that they keep your videos in original resolution, at least it is interesting for a geek like me. ;)

I wonder if they do the encoding "on the fly" when the video is streamed, rather than keeping a low resolution version for streaming, because I`m reasonably sure I`ve seen the same videos play back in different resolutions without changing settings.

This new high quality feature is nice, and I noticed some of mine would play at high res and some wouldn`t, now I know why :)

you lucky Stephen, me all the videos i uploaded (40 and so) were exactly what youtube recommended (320X240) so no ones of mine are in good resolution :(.
If there was a way to change my current uploaded videos by the ones i got in my HDD in high resolution without loosing the comments of them that could be nice from youtube ( not sure if i am speaking well here and if i am understandable )

Darkdrium777

rdmx
21st April 2008, 07:06 AM
Unfortunately, there is no present way to reupload a video in higher quality, probably due to the risk that someone uploads a completely different video or propaganda, etc in place of their old video. Youtube just doesn't have the manpower to check videos that want to be reuploaded :|

Hi Stin,

Thanks for the comment. All my records are upto date! Because of the single race time bug, I have no single race time records. I have only spent time in Time Trial. Maybe in the future I will begin a new profile in Pulse NA, but not now. Also HD is coming soon I hope.

kandang:nice racing. question:is your racer modified w/all 10's (speed, thrust, handling, shield)? would love to see videos on a stock assegai or feisar classic. it seems this would be more of a challenge imo. it is for me on phantom (hard). i haven't gone on-line for a better modified racer yet. i kinda don't want to for fear of finishing out the single race campaign. i love the challenge to date. also, i assume you have the expanded packs for pulse. worth getting?

twojazzman, welcome to wipeoutzone.
i'm not kandang but i know that he didn't modified any ship. what you see in the video, is standard and equal to every regular player. you should press up on your D-pad to see that your ship can go faster if you do that ;)

i think the framerate drop is from the youtube encoding.

1: Read the guidelines. talking of pirate technology isn't allowed.

2: It's out for PS2, Not PC.:)
