Hi a fellow Wipeout fan here.

I only bought my psp because of wipeout and I have been playing it constantly but I recently tried something that I'm certain a couple of you guys would be interested in.

I heard that custom firmware meant running games on the psp at 333Mhz as opposed to the 222Mhz that most games including Pure ran at. Apparently the reason Sony did this is to increase the longevity of the battery as well as allow future games to tap into this potential once battery technology is good enough.

Anyway the point is that Pure looks even more sublime then it does normally and my guess is that it probably runs at >60fps at 333Mhz. Although the battery only lasts for about 2 hours but I only ever use my psp at home so I just keep it plugged in.

Thought you guys should know.

BTW: I've since found out you don't need to mess with the firmware to acheive this. A program called IRShell allows you to play your UMD games at 333Mhz.
