Houdy mates!!

My first times on one of the least favourite tracks of Pure, which i honestly don't understand. Is it JABBERJAW who is talking a lot about the floatyness of 2097? This track Burgertown has a lot and i mean a lot of floatyness in itself.

Ok here i go:
TT: 0.29.93, 0.27.62, 0.27.14, 0.28.48=1.53.17

One more hour of practice brings me to these new times:
RR 0.28.86, 0.27.48, 0.27.20, 0.27.97=1.51.51
LR 0.26.73

The unofficial Triakis times:
RR: 1.50.71
LR: 0.26.50

19th December 2006, 09:31 PM
Burgertown rocks :rock For me, with the way it feels on fast classes, it really captures the spirit of the series. The art style might not be to everyone`s taste, but I think it`s really well designed, partly because it gets easier the faster you go. The speed pads are very well placed. I agree it feels quite floaty, but I think for good times we may need to keep the ship on the deck as much as possible, and in more places than you might think! ;)

I am being murdered at work until the New Year..... if I get the time I`ll have a go at this one, but I can`t afford to get Sweet-Weekly-Challenge-Addiction at the moment. ;)

19th December 2006, 09:35 PM
Hi everybody! I found some time today to have a go on this challenge. Although you couldn't call me a fan of the omega pack and Burgertown is my most hated track next to Paris Hair on Pure, I've had a few runs. So here are my times so far:

best race time - Zone
0.29.02 = 1.57.48

best lap time - Icaras

20th December 2006, 01:39 AM
I thought the zone and medievil craft were off-limits?

I might join you this time around but I'm in the middle of a Lumines game at the moment.

20th December 2006, 03:03 AM
Zone and Medievil are ok for these challenges. Triakis is the only off-limits ship for the official competition, though you can submit "unnoficial" times for it.

20th December 2006, 12:40 PM
I had to practise alot yesterday, as I have only had the Omega pack since Monday. Here is my first contribution to a TT challenge.

Team: Icaras

Best lap time: 0.28.12 (Icaras)

Update 1

Team: Icaras

20th December 2006, 05:36 PM
Borell very impressive times you have got there with only a few days of practise. You scare me for sure.:clap

20th December 2006, 06:28 PM
Here is my score atm after one hour session!

29.45, 28.79, 28.62, 28,20= 1.55.06 Klor aka 123Klan

Best Lap= 27.38

21st December 2006, 01:57 AM
I share stephen point's of view on Burgertown that's a track i like racing for all those tricky parts spotted everywhere and also for what matthijs underlined about floatiness.

btw thx again to sir spk for changing my turbo strategy: before his tip , i was launching it before the last mini jump to get a BR but now i am following right side of the jump and get the 2 boost pads.
Turbo is used on the right bend before entering the tunnel so that i can BR and land after the thin passage. If you do it right you can get all the other Bpads.

I haven't tested that new technique with triakis yet, noneetheless here's my Ag Systems score atm:

1.53.26 = 29.64 - 29.06 - 26.77 - 27.79
1.51.81 = 29.09 - 27.98 - 27.44 - 27.30
best lap1 = 28.01 :cold

Vohl Square Phantom ------------------------------- Week 13

2nd January 2007, 12:39 AM
Yay! Phantom! *gets practicising*

Any tips for this course?

2nd January 2007, 08:19 AM
Hi All.

Vohl Square is a massive BR track ;)

I see the possibility of five br a turn in this track...but...if we don't use Triakis remains only Tigron :D

Read You Soon

2nd January 2007, 10:47 AM
I counted six BRs!:dizzy
Have to pick the best places to BR, Tigron only capable of 3 BRs a lap!

2nd January 2007, 11:39 AM
the 1st one on the straight line right after the start
2nd on the 1st jump
3rd on the 2nd jump and get immediately a BR ( the 4th) after landing
5th on the 3rd jump ( before it i use turbo)
6th on the last mini jump and 7th on the last right bend there's a little bump on the right where you can get enough high to BR again.

Even triakis can't afford 7 BR for 5 laps but i am not saying all the BRs are useful here only 3 maxi 4 would be the best

2nd January 2007, 04:00 PM
Hi All.

ok! i start with Goteki.... ;)

with Goteki 2.21.29 (29.19-27.20-28.76-27.80-28.34)
with 123Klan 2.21.00 (29.31-27.47-28.79-28.11-27.32)
with Goteki 2.18.27 (28.58p-26.87p-27.92-27.49-27.41)
with Goteki 25.99
with Goteki 27.99

it's so far from Stephen 2.14 :o but it's early for the end of this TT

Read You Soon

ps i made 25.99 but i don't see any light only i use br,br.br.br,ecc ecc..... :D i see only smoke in my eyes....grr :( where is the shortcut? ok ok it's a secret? do you reveal the tip in the end of this challenge? thank......but Asa and Mad-Ice scare me!!! ;)

ps2 a stop in practise because of familiar duties for three day is a disaster for a tt challenge...now i run a little...I hope to improve a little ;)

ps3 last edit in italy is at 23.58 o'clock..... ;)

2nd January 2007, 07:08 PM

This evening, whilst my girlfriend's "Desperate Housewife" watching, I'll be back on wipeout racing

Yesterday Arnaud was away for almost half an hour so i took the opportuninty with Goteki45 on Vohl Square

my first times are:

RR: 2.15.13
LR: 0.26.38

So i showed Arnaud the light but couldn't beat his record. Here are my new times:

RR: 2.12.57 - 27.51, 26.59, 26.28, 26.18, 26.01
LR: 25.63

RR: 2.11.84 - 27.42, 25.71, 25.73, 25.97, 27.01
LR: 25.28

3rd January 2007, 01:35 PM
it's nearly 2am and my times are getting very inconsistent, but I love this track and I am going away tomorrow...

best I can manage on short notice is:
LR: 27.18 Goteki45
RR: 2:25.85 Goteki45

3rd January 2007, 02:15 PM
Here I am, mates!

first times on slow hands:

as soon as possible: historical pic of first italian W.I.P. encounter ... ;)

3rd January 2007, 06:47 PM
Time for update and big competition TT multiplayer on that challenge with mate Mad-Ice : we made several funny & tensy races together changing from ship , Mad-Ice showed me the light with the fast Gott' 1945 and now i am at that point :
2.11.67 = 27.87 - 25.47 - 26.41 - 25.84 - 26.08

Previously i get Ag sys and did
2.13.94 = 28.05 - 26.88 - 26.59 - 26.08 - 26.34

non-official triakis new laptime : 24.37

4th January 2007, 01:07 AM
It is early times yet but you'd be hard pressed to do a good time in this sort of weather in melbourne at the moment. What, 36 degrees celsius...:brickwall

Shortcut? where?

Nevertheless, I did a 2.21.18 in a Tigron.
BL: 26.05 in my fearless Goteki 45!

EDIT: Australian teenager tries again!
New TT time of 2:19.40 in the Tigron.

EDIT2: And Again!
New TT time of 2:19.24 in the Tigron.

4th January 2007, 07:33 AM
Hi All

I mean to ask where launch the boost and where to make the better BR....

because to know it he is substantial in order to survive in phantom on this track ;)

for now i launch the boost out of the second tunnel and make only a br on the first fracture/jump after the start....and i make 2.21.....sigh...where is the light/tip? :( :D

read you soon

4th January 2007, 03:27 PM
Hi Alterego, hi all!

Asa and i are using three BRs per lap with Goteki45. First one after the first corner on the first fracturejump. The second one in the tunnel after hitting the two BPs on the left and the third BR after taking the speedboost on the second fracturejump into the hard curve to the left. You can always try to do a fourth BR directly after the second BR i just describe before, if you are having enough energy. I hope you are understanding me and that you will beat your records and not mine!!!!! Joking, good luck!

4th January 2007, 07:06 PM
Hi All.

Thank you mad ice for the tips i'm trying to apply them as soon as I have time to try again.

And now in order it makes you to laugh.... :D

Here the photos of the first encounter of italian contests wireless between the nik and alterego.

this photo catch the trio in contest from sx to dx: Denis, son of Alterego, the Nik and the old and large Alterego..... ;)

Alter has gained the session of contests and has adjudicated the nik's white psp….for joke.....ah ah ah !!!!

6th January 2007, 02:39 PM
Thanks for your smile, mates :D

Alterego is a great boy, he drives fast everytime he run, not like me.

Just on Chengou I announced: "sorry Rom, but this is my favourite track, eh eh... :banzai "
Ready.......GO! and me.....started like a... turtle! = 6 secs over alterego's time.

The same one week ago with a friend of mine (he know wipeout on PS2 and he's really fast there), that I want to bring on the top of wiping pure: he's already on venom, but we meet and race together. Every time I win with 15-20 secs.
On chengou I adviced him: this is my track guy! Well...the only one race he beat me!!!

Sorry Lance but you are not allowed to race XL anymore :robot : you are totally in contradiction with your fav game : this is a Double S size for the pic & your vital stat.:g

i play XL & i wear XL size clothes ( ermm even :burger XXL :burger )

I don't forget the TT report but been busy after MAd-Ice quit home on sunday , preparing my interview i got today in Paris early in the morning which was the 2nd step for getting a new job , finally after going back to Le havre , they asked me to have a final rendez-vous to really be sure they wanted me so i took the train again and get that last appointment ( 7 hours spent into trains / tubes / buses today) : the result of this is positive , i am starting on wednesday morning for 4 months at Anthony's office : héhéh i will work with my famous Mate Anthony aka Sleh aka DAG !

So here's the quick report from TT challenge , i will add comments later eventually.

Vohl SquarePhantom---------------------- Sunday Report

MAd Ice & me had a 2nd longer TT session before he went back to Holland.
This was the 1st time for me i haven't be able to beat my official score by a triakis !! i tied the racetime that's only i had ( haven't upgrade it into here but MadIce can confirm they ve been done into the last week :nod )

Paris Hair Rapier -------------------------- WEEK 14

8th January 2007, 10:40 PM
On heavyweight ships, pilot size doesn't matter. A Qirex will never notice a difference of a hundred pounds. Or even 200 pounds!

il-NIK, there were more than 70 people in the original pic; none of them got enough pixels to keep a zoom-in from breaking up the pic.

8th January 2007, 11:42 PM
But this does explain why Arnaud`s AGS was bottoming out so much on kai last week - must have been the super-size portion at Burgerland ;)

Congratulations on your new job, Arnaud :+ Hope that goes well. I think you used to work with Antho before in your early 2097 days.

Awesome Vohl Squares from everyone, too.

we will make personalize the cabins of these light ships...... and in the new version of wipeout also it will appear beyond to livreries also dimensions.... S - M - L - XL and only for our team ......XXL :+ :g

Good luck for the new job and as we say in Italy “in bocca al lupo” ;)

New year, new ship. Like all of you (except insertcoin) I choose Goteki (bleah, it's really ugly) for the challenge, so we can race on the same ship with real confrontation.

men...at work!

9th January 2007, 04:57 PM
Thx guys :)

yes, Stephen , i ve worked with Anthony during 5 years , we were in the same insurance Companie : that should be a good moment during those next 4 months .

Talking about the last challenge , i found a real new way of improving laptime

the 1st one on the straight line right after the start
2nd on the 1st jump
3rd on the 2nd jump and get immediately a BR ( the 4th) after landing
5th on the 3rd jump ( before it i use turbo)
6th on the last mini jump and 7th on the last right bend there's a little bump on the right where you can get enough high to BR again

That 6th BR is very hard to get cause you can BR and don't have the boost, so i found a new way of getting : very differently :
Actually before that last jump you got a left bend , right?
and before it you got the choice to hit the left or right boostpad : choose the right one
the tip is to cut this bend a little to be able to land on the small platform ( left part of the jump ) : 1st benefit is : no bottoming out before the jump & also when landind after jumping from the platform. I discovered that having a good speed before that 'cut' may get you enough high to allow a BR on the platform ( the boost you get starts on the platform not in the air after the jump : this is the big difference): so you get the boost & the line to the finish is way too easy now.

héhéh Not yet Paris Hair lover here !!
Rita Linsley will be sad ;)

But nonetheless, I'll give it a go... later...

:+ to Paris Hair from me, crazy and amazing art design, perhaps the best of the Omegas for this. I love the idea of the stars on the track surface, and the audio is great, especially the mocking laughter. In terms of track design it`s brilliant too - if it was a city centre track it would be the the track Citta Nuova should have been, if that wasn`t such a disaster. Paris Hair has really interesting corners - particularly the gutsy tight one before the jump that requires you to time it as close as you dare, and the first two long left handers that are quite deceptive, in that you have to hit the apex very deep, and are very similar to the long left at the bottom of the hill on Modesto.

anyway enough about that, I brought out the Burgertown ship for my run on this challenge and my times are:

Turboweevil: 1.58.23/28.58

I'm agree with you. Paris is an undervalued track.Just one week ago I hate this track like many others, but forced to race it by the challenge, I'd learn to love it. There are several tails of track that are hard to race. First the central boostpad after the startline combined with the left bend and the consequential boost before the little hill. This is one of the key-moment. I race this tail of track in several various ways: I think there isn't the right way.
curved strictly on the right or large on the left with the "S" curve like in Città Nuova. I know that the more difficult part of this track is after jumpline

A question to AZAY:

How do you race your record TT with Triakis on Paris? Any BR? How? Where?

Hi Master :cowboy

13th January 2007, 12:30 PM
Hi everyone :)

Nicola i am racing Paris with 2BR the 1st one near the start, top of the hill, and 2nd at the jump , using turbo right after the split ( going on the right side ). I am not particularly convinced by my technique on Paris as a matter of fact i saw you did an impressive triakis laptime : congrats mate : did you do something different?

Sorry not being present here for giving my score but here's my duty atm :

30.04 - 29.73 - 29.35 - 29.48 = 1.58.60

Bloody hell i must admit you kick my arse for only 1 hundredth :mr-t , that's not nice :naughty , you will pay for this in MArch at Dam's convention :banzai

Yes, Arnaud, I pay attention to do not the BR on the first little hill, I think this isn't a good BR for the laptime, then I give the turbo on the last rectilinear tail of the track before last grat hill.
You always run great TT!!! Yes, I "kicked your arse" but with great difficult.
I love BL.
See you at Dam's convention ;)

15th January 2007, 06:40 PM
Good racing on Paris Hair, guys! :clap I did not come close to the fight, but I'm happy for the progress I had during my second session.

I know there have been discussions concerning processor speeds, but I did not find an answer (quick enough) to the following: What restriction, if any, is there on processor speed?

Happy climbing! :D

15th January 2007, 07:35 PM
I believe we have an unofficial gentleman`s agreement that it`s ok to compete for times at 266mhz, because this is a speed provided in an official Sony firmware upgrade (firmware 3.0 and higher), but 333mhz times should not be entered. This is entirely unofficial though. None of us in this challenge were racing on higher than 266. :)

btw congrats to the Mad-man for a really clean TT. :rock

15th January 2007, 08:31 PM
i agree with Lunar, no 333 allowed

Ag Sys
2.18.34 = 28.13 - 27.84 - 28.47 - 27.16 - 26.74

2.16.48 = 28.27 - 26.88 - 27.10 - 27.42 - 26.81

2.16.06 = 27.53 - 27.07 - 26.87 - 27.40 - 27.19
2.15.98 = 27.98 - 27.11 - 26.86 - 26.75 - 27.28

27.43 - 26.82 - 26.26 - ... 28.07 ....30.07

2.15.03 = 27.49 - 26.74 - 27.03 - 26.42 - 27.15

15th January 2007, 08:33 PM
Hi All.

i start with bl on icaras:28.00....:naughty no good.... :-

i use the boost in the tunnel then br in the air and it is the only br i make...i see the simple possibility of four br in this track but i don't think they are very useful.... :?

read you soon

15th January 2007, 08:40 PM
Here's a tip in case of ... i get the turbo weapon after the long descending straight line, more exactly when the track starts goes up on that right bend : get a BR into the air and you can land near the mini jump after the chicanes.
You should also multi-tap on nose down, this is a good thing to avoid the extreme floatiness of that track.

16th January 2007, 09:19 AM
Nose-down, 333, what are these?

Ok, I know what's a nose-down while racing, but I've not the ability to do it. :frown:

But, 333? :?

Are there someone cracking PSP? :cold :frown:  :bomb

I think it`s more useful than ever to have a ship with good acceleration on this track, for picking up out of all those slow corners. But I think Goteki is just too floaty, meaning it gets too much height, and too unstable to be totally effective on Sebenco Climb, unless you can use it to get the BR at the top of the big downhill. But maybe the other ships can do this too. G45 is probably the second fastest ship on a lot of tracks, but I think the more stable AGS and Assegai ships could be a better choice than G45 here, but I could be wrong. And then Goteki has a lot of BRs in the tank.... hmmm. I`m not going to race with the Weevil - he only comes out for Omega tracks. ;)

16th January 2007, 11:40 AM
Thanks for the answers. :+ I stayed on 222 earlier to be sure... 266 here I come! :robot

16th January 2007, 11:49 AM
AAAARGHHHHH :brickwall

...it's much time I don't upgrade my psp, I'm still at 2.80 or similar, it's from 266 that we have more speed...or what?

Is there someone can teach me?

16th January 2007, 12:30 PM
Don`t expect amazing things when you upgrade to 3.0X. The only tracks I`m fairly sure are faster on 3.0X are Sagarmatha and Manor Top, which always had a bad framerate and were stuttery. On these I beat my old vector and venom ghosts easily, without playing particularly well. My ship was just faster on 3.01/266. I got a 20.8 phantom lap of Sagarmatha, with a wall hit and a couple of missed speed pads!

But I haven`t seen any difference on other tracks, though I haven`t played my usual amount since upgrading. On most tracks, easily the majority of them, I`m sure there is really no measurable difference in TT. But you might as well upgrade and see what you think. :)

16th January 2007, 12:31 PM
I have experienced some lagging from time to time in 222, especially in the phantom class. So, stepping up to 266 is nice.

I believe that the control response is better when using higher processor speeds, and this makes the racing easier (and faster times). Does the actual speed (of the ship?) increase as well?

il_NIK, nowadays there is a 2.80 -> 2.71 downgrader, and from there you can get to 1.50. No version above 2.80 can be downgraded yet. From 1.50 you can choose to run devhook or to flash any of the special/open edition firmwares. In both cases you can choose processor speeds yourself with the help of additional modules. In the more recent open edition firmwares this can also be achieved without additional modules.

16th January 2007, 12:40 PM
Though speed differences seem rare to me on 3.0x, I agree about the smoothness. Multiplayer especially seems much smoother when everyone is on 3.0x firmware. Since it came out, we have had many more smooth races on kai with more than 4 players.

16th January 2007, 12:45 PM
Thanks Lunar and thanks Borrell.

This evening I will upgrade my psp. Downgrade, no thanks, but thank you for your more info Borell

16th January 2007, 09:10 PM
i second what said Stephen and tested it with my 2 psp : one with 3.02 FW = 28.9 sec on Citta TT , 2nd with DH at 333 = a low 27... :sonar
my former record at 222 ( FW 2.0) = 29.4
I don't test it on each track, only with Citta i think this test shows an evidence : 333 is faster & smoother but this is not an official FW from Sony so for this challenge and idem for the WZ tables no 333 allowed.

grrrrr got 1 spare hour now and will :mr-t yer arse :banzai
( 5 free run laps later AG sys's honor saved :D )
needed 41 more to get a very close laptime from my triakis

19th January 2007, 08:04 PM
Man, this is difficult! At first I was very frustrated with slow races. With practice I got faster, and got some better lap times as I got used to the track. The next problem, and still a big problem, is consistency in lap times.

Today I changed strategy a little, and managed to lower my race time immediately. Alas, the deviation among the lap times is still way too high...

Here we go:

AG Sys: 2.23.03 ( 0.29.36 0.26.89 0.29.65 0.28.25 0.28.88 )

Update, with less deviation:

AG Sys: 2.20.78 ( 0.28.20 0.28.29 0.28.03 0.28.57 0.27.69 )

Did not come further than this:

AG Sys: 2.20.58 ( 0.28.58 0.27.91 0.27.93 0.27.78 0.28.38 )

20th January 2007, 05:20 PM
Hi Borell,

Yes this is a very difficult track indeed. However your times are getting more consistent, keep up the good work!!

PS: Are you interested in the Euro convention? Please let us know in the Euro convention thread.

20th January 2007, 05:38 PM
OMFG this track is a b*stard at Phantom! My tips for this track would be: keep the nose down at all times, and never hit the speed pad on the right in the tunnel. If I hit this the ship becomes unstable and I`m doomed to disaster at some point in the next five seconds. I really should hate this track for the same reasons as Citta Nuova, but it`s just so mad, and turboing at the narrow straight after the tunnel just can`t get boring. Anyone who thinks Pure has no "floatiness" should enter this challenge. :bat

I need about 5 different ways to take each corner, because you never know exactly how you`re going to end up, and have to decide in about .001 of a second which method to use for the next bit. I was really surprised at AGS lack of performance on here, and that Goteki is good despite being super-floaty, which I thought would cause problems. Well, it does, and it`s very easy to lose a great run because she suddenly decides to roll on her back or head for Sol2......

anyway times:

Goteki 45 2.16.40/26.46

AGS 2.15.50 (27.55/27.50/26.81/26.78/26.86)

best lap: 26.44

Sebenco Climb Phantom ------------------------ Monday Report

6 fellow challengers raced on that sweet track, seb climb, where floatiness is damn real. The top 4 pilots used different ships : a symbol of each ship have their ' chance ' if we exclude the Big T , of course. I am pretty sure we didn't get the top of that track in term of racetime : easy sub 2.10.00 with big T and 2.10.00 for non triakis for 5 perfect lap and the good way where to get turbo... well ... we will see in future with TT Challenge Season 2 ' the return ' but we are only at episode 16 from 28 original :sonar

Here's the result matesparty :

1* Asayyeah : 2.15.03 Assegai
2* Lunar : 2.15.50 Ag SyS
3* Mad-Ice : 2.15.83 Goteki 45 -- 2.14.31 Triakis

Hi All.

....mmmh...Anulpha....Rapier....pure velocity,less agility ;) ....mmmh

I love 123klan on this track....and i start with this ship,after a few run i made this:
With 123Klan 1.42.41 (26.17p-25.50p-24.99p-25.75)
With Piranha 1.42.61 (26.44p-25.23p-25.09-25.85)
With Icaras 1.41.00 (26.26p-24.85p-24.98-24.91p) :D

i think that piranha is another good choice for this track....and Icaras!!! :D

with Piranha 24.64
with 123klan 24.99
with Icaras 24.64

with Icaras 25.77

Sensei Asa and the other masters (Mad and Lunar) from you I waited for to see things from the other universe….eh eh eh :D ;)

@Asa ...but after 'feed me' very well! I have preferred to go up on Icaras…ih ih ih

22nd January 2007, 02:41 PM
Not so nice huh Asa and Lunar to beat a sick man who had to go to bed early to get a good night sleep!!!:naughty And on top of that two minutes before and even four minutes after the deadline :cold

LOL: No serious guys real nice times congratulations to you!!!:clap It was really close racing beating eachothers times constantly :o And now on to the next, i can see Alterego is anxious to see our times, btw you have already got some good times there!! Are you going ontop the small bridge and then taking three speedpads and immediatly jump off the get the barrel roll?

Ok good luck everyone!!!

Here's Icaras;
RR: 1.41.41 - 26.13, 25.02, 25.25, 25.01
LR: 0.24.68
RR: 1.39.75 - 25.73, 24.63, 24.85, 24.54
LR: 0.24.23

Unofficial Triakis;
RR: 1.39.66 - 25.86, 24.71, 24.57, 24.52
LR: 0.24.30

It is so cool to see other ships being better on some tracks than the dominating Big Triakis ship. The first time i felt this, was; when i was not able to beat my race record with Triakis on Vohl Square, this track is just screaming for Goteki45!!!!

22nd January 2007, 02:56 PM
Hi Mad-Ice, hi all.

Tnx for the Tip Mad-Master.... :D

I have seen the possibility to only take three of the four BP and to exit from the shortcut in order to make br and then launch the boost just before the startline.

however I have made the time with 123klan covering all the shortcut and making br on the end….I must still take the correct time for the anticipated br after three bp. ehm ehm ;)

22nd January 2007, 05:33 PM
see my post above : i ve updated the last TT result :)

Sorry Matt' to steal you the pole on extrem limit lol i abuse of you being sick but i must confess that i took control of Stin's pc to successfully re install DWL after that shitty XP bug : spent lots of time on it and only get 1 pity hour to finish that challenge :p

Back-on-track : Congrats Rom this is truly great 1st time entered :clap

Here's my current result with

Ag SyS :
26.79 (P) - 25.35 (P) - 26.16 - 25.55 (P) = 1.43.85
27.63 - 25.26 - 25.14 (P) - 25.55 (P) = 1.43.58
26.30 (P) - 25.11 - 25.31 - 24.94 (P) = 1.41.66

I am using turbo at the end of the first left bend after the start, i try to get the 3 BP in diagonal then 'normal' line till the upper section where i am taking all the 4 BP and get a BR ( 50% of time) at the end of the jump .

3 perfect laps done for me and still not beaten you : Rom , your scores rock mate :guitar
1.42.00 possible with AG ?
yeah very possible :o ( 50% BR succeeded)
good luck with this lap héhéhé
Which lap ???

25.69 - 24.85 - 25.43 - 24.87 = 1.40.84
Sweet 1st lap huh? :sonar
No BR at lap 3 :(

Out of challenge :
Big T
25.85 - 24.43 - 24.85 - 24.55 = 1.39.68

Into the challenge

25.96 - 24.75 - 24.35 - 24.33 = 1.39.39

22nd January 2007, 06:41 PM
Thanks for last week`s challenge - it was scary and :rock. Racing against you chaps is a privilege.:beer Having said that, I have been desperately trying to win a challenge with El`s ship, so that I could write "Kiss my Assegai" in the reason for editing field. And now Asa has only gone and done it, so we`ll have to kiss his Assegoodbye instead, dammit. ;)

I had officially given up on Saturday night, but decided to have the fatal "one last go" on Sunday evening. It didn`t take long for AG to do the business, so I opened the wine and was just on the second glass when Asa reported in with his awesome Assegai time. Congrats to you, Arnaud, but Mad-Ice pushed us to do it. In Goteki that was an awesome time. Far be it from me to quote myself, the Assayator could be watching with his mod-hat on, but if somebody would like to quote post #317 I think my predictions were correct. ;)

About Anulpha, I don`t think dropping off the high route early is a great move in TT, as you lose the speed pad benefits, which is fast if you get them all, and the landing is much harder when you drop off early, costing you more speed, than going off the end. We have recently learned the dangers of too much air and hard landings in TT. So I believe it`s best to take all of the BPs on the top route, and you can get the BR off the end anyway, and it can be done all of the time with practice.

Here`s my tip, (this is only for Alter Ego and must not read by Asa or Mad-Ice, turn away your eyes lads): if you go to the right side of the track just before you drop off the end of the shortcut you have much more chance of making the BR work. Pitching up doesn`t really help much I think, you have to be going fast from the BPs and go to the right, with the BR just before you go off the end. It seemed to work for me anyway.

Ok Asa and Mad you may look again now, nothing to see here 8)

22nd January 2007, 07:30 PM
Like for your post N°317 i am watching carefully what you are saying Stephen, you said possibly Assegai , i get my chance on it, you said go on the right side on upper section to BR easily, i did it this time at 100% and i stole 123 Klan from the pole :p

22nd January 2007, 07:47 PM

Wow...what some laps I see!

So... I'm so sad that my grand father tells me: Nik, I give you my ship for your laps. It was a glorious and large ship, and a little of paint, some patches on the right place and a good drive can cause to you a good position.

Ok man, I told him. and Auricom came with me.

Now, first laps:

BL: 25.01 (with Lunar's jumpin' BR)
BL: 24.89 (without the lunars's one)
BL: 24.79 (with)

Piranha: BL 24.76

my new lap time
:robot :blarg :robot

23rd January 2007, 12:27 PM
So it's Anulpha Pass Rapier this week - one of my most loved tracks that is! :nod

I think I'll be able to get me a few hours to spare on that challenge this week. So here I am, starting off with Piranha:

0.24.96 (P) = 1.42.49

Best lap time - also done with Piranha, but in Free Play: 0.24.73

I'm still scraping along the walls a little too often. Not even one perfect lap in my racetime. Gotta put some work into that, but I'm pretty happy with my bl. :g

Thanks Asa :). I've updated my best race time with Piranha. I also had a few runs in my Icaras:

0.25.21 (P)
0.25.55 (P)
0.24.92 = 1.42.39

Best lap time - done in Free Play: 0.24.89

23rd January 2007, 05:05 PM
I must say every week the TT challenge is becoming tougher between us : that's great.
I'll get a new ship today let's see how Assegai may do the job ;)

Btw Rob, your scores are good you can make a post for them ?

@Tom : for a 1st lap entered , what a lap mate :clap

24th January 2007, 05:56 PM
Ok, here is my scores atm,

I've heard about people claiming :' it's not Sinucit : it's Sinu-**** '
I strongly disagree with that.

Ive been working a lot with Del stepho a year ago on that wonderful track, can't believe the raindrops are so nice to watch ( in a way , you won't have too much time to count the raindrops onto your pspscreen, especially in phantom :D )

Here's Ag SyS warmup :

33.98 - 32.32 - 33.42 - 32.86 - 32.89 = 2.45.47

i am using turbos on the jump at the end , i BR into the air, sideshift left hardly to get the boost pad while the track spilts in 2 ( i go on left side), on the next left bend , i sideshift leftand if it's well done i can hit the left double BP with maintening a high speed, sideshift right for the next right bend , straight line in the middle of the track, no SShift on right bend, try to get your ship over 700 while turning as soft as you can, then the split ( i go on right side) i am trying to get the more inside as i can into the long right curve, hit the BP in the middle don't forget it, then sideshift right ( difficult) to get the BP on the left ( this is important to be over 800 immediately after the BP) before entering the right quite-long spiral : start it from the outside and side shift right when you are at the 'rope' ( hope it's the good word) : you should be able to go out from the spiral nearly at 580/ 600 ( speed before the double BP) after the semi-long straight line, try to maintain the speed as much as you can in this long & tricky left curve before the finishing chicanes : the key is = come into it from the outside and then sideshift violently on left , the 2nd left SShift will be used to hit one of the 2 BP in parallel then if your line is not too bad, i advice you to get your turbo into the chicane as soon as possible , BR into the air and the lap is finished

Piranha : 31.87
Goteki 45 : 31.58

Hi Asa, hi all.

Thanks for the suggestions on the management of the turn, I will sure use them in the next sessions of tests....:hyper :sonar

Sinucit is a track on which I have turned little in general terms, moreover is within the game Pure also much long one.

The TT in phantom is literally massacring ...... but not for this 'jet the sponge'….therefore i'm sure that, step by step, I will lower my times with much training...... :hyper :sonar 8)

Hi all! New week, new challenge... I agree with Alterego, that Phantom TT is sweaty and this is one of the tracks I yet have to figure out. :)

Had a session yesterday, but lap times were very unstable (and still is, to some extent). Had my best races with the Cardracer. Today I could lower yesterdays time by two seconds, and almost two more upon switching to the AG-Sys.

Cardracer: 2.54.98 ( 0.35.54 0.35.64 0.34.63 0.34.48 0.34.69 )

AG-Sys: ( 0.35.35 0.34.79 0.33.89 0.35.66 0.33.38 )

Damn that fourth lap! As you can see, none of them are clean runs.

Asayyeah & il_NIK, amazing times!! Alterego, your turn... :p

I thought that maybe I would understand this track eventually, and maybe I could offer some competition to some of you. Sorry, but this has so far not happened. Screw this track. :turd

AG-Sys: 2.51.70 ( 0.35.70 0.34.08 0.33.90 0.33.40 0.34.62 ) BL 0.33.22 B1L 0.34.89

See you on the next challenge. Vector?!

So, I finally had my first session today! MMmmm, tricky track, indeed, it is!!! :bat I had a one hour session with Icaras. This track looks not so difficult at first sight, but to maintain your speed optimal and making consistant laptimes, that is the trick here. :nod

I've never been that good on Sinucit and I still have a lot to learn to be able to keep up with you TT-legends on phantom class. So here's my times with Goteki:

Time to practice another track thoroughly! :coffee

Usually, I have not pushed the limit on a track until I first play it within this challenge. On most of the tracks I have only gotten the gold medal in TT and moved along.

Today I entered Blue Ridge in the Icaras. I Changed to AG-Sys after a couple of races and stayed with it for a long time. When I had difficulties beating my recent records, I turned to Medievil. It did not fit me at that point. After some more races with AG-Sys, I tried Cardracer. No immediate success, but it grew on me. Finally I got better times again and felt quite happy after a good days work. :D

Cardracer: 2.18.88 ( 0.35.55 0.34.54 0.34.00 0.34.79 )

Maybe there is a better boost strategy making a big impact on speed. Right now I barrel roll at the drop, go through the sharp bend, hit the turbo pad and then use my boost. I imagine the boost is prolonged by the next turbo pad, instead of the turbo pad slowing me down when I hit it.

Where do you guys boost?

Great lap time, il_NIK!

5th February 2007, 09:15 PM
I am boosting at the same location after hit the 1st BP next to right bend.

The starting & finishing chicanes are the most important parts of the track.
1st one when you start , try to get through them without sideshifting & airbraking especially on flash it's easier
For the finishing ones : be as close as possible from the 'inside ' of each bend of the chicane , start with right sideshift on the single BP getting out of from that 1st right bend then sideshift left to cut the left bend immediately after it right S shift and you get one of the 2 BP in parallel

Ag SyS
34.68 - 32.88 - 33.02 - 33.50 = 2.14.08

33.84 - 32.50 - 33.07 - 32.77 = 2.12.18

Blue Ridge flash ---------------------------------- Monday Report

Belated report sorry i was at hospital today and wasn't in mood of writing down the report yesterday midnight :frown:

6 fellow wipers raced on that tricky Blue Ridge Flash Challenge, i must reckon i spent more time on phantom class trying to beat a recent massive laptime from Del Stepho :+ . However flash is perfect to understand in a better way this track.
Here's the result for this week :

2* Asayyeah : 2.12.18 Assegai
3* Il NiK : 2.12.72 Icaras

SAGARMATHA rapier ---------------------------------------------------- WEEK 19

12th February 2007, 07:46 PM
I had a peek in the records table. 1.37.46! :o It will be interesting to see the times during this week. My first session resulted in:

Icaras: 1.40.59 ( 0.26.13 0.24.64 0.25.74 0.24.08 )

Icaras: 1.39.94 ( 0.25.74 0.25.46 0.24.56 0.24.18 )

With the "il_NIK" boost I get faster laps in average, and thus make faster race times. I did not succeed in lowering my best lap time though. On a really good run--see the second lap time--I should be able to get down to 1.38.5. But... the really good runs are rare. Maybe I'm not that stubborn. ;)

Icaras: 1.39.05 ( 0.25.46 0.25.14 0.24.17 0.24.28 )

Hi mates,

where do you use turbo in Sagarmatha? I use it after the 5th bend (the right bend before the straight-s line).

I think that this one is the most important curve of the track, where you can lose a grat amount of cents if you don't race it at its maximum velocity

16th February 2007, 12:22 PM
Interesting... I haven't really tried much. So far I used the boost after the last boost pads and therefore most of the boost has been during the beginning of the next lap, in effect until I reach the first boost pad.

I will try your strategy, il_NIK, and see if I gain anything. :D

16th February 2007, 12:24 PM
Hi Nik, hi all.

I use turbo in the same place and i think same as you about this hell bend ;)

but i think that sagarmatha is a strange track, therefore simple and at the same time difficult to make at the maximum of the speed ..... :?

read you soon

16th February 2007, 04:14 PM
Ok, Borell

and try Piranha too, it seems very fast here! :D

16th February 2007, 05:07 PM
Hi everyone, i don't have score for official competition but working with triakis on phantom and briefly in rapier.

Formely my turbo strategy was based on getting it into the straight line ( half of the track) right after hitting one of the 2 boost pad in diagonal after the right airpin.
But i left this way out and changed for a new location : after the jump i am landing on the right side of the boost pad and try to be as close as i can from the 'inside' of the long left curve , and turbo nearly at the end of it ( i deliberately miss the last double BP) , it's even better than going outside from the curve and hit the double last BP , i tested it several time in phantom

I also missed voluntary a BP , the one which is on the right side after going out from the 1st tunnel : i sideshift left immediately at the end of it to hit the BP on the left with better high speed ( than getting the right and after the left one ) and then sideshift right on the airpin

On phantom i lowered racetime to 1.45 and lap to 20.06 with that technique.
Rapier i get 22.90 after several attempts on free lap then 1.37.31 after 2nd try ( all scores with triakis)
Tomorrow i will enter the official non-triakis sagar

25.24 - 23.31 - 23.51 - 23.87 = 1.35.93

1.37.29 / 22.78

17th February 2007, 12:00 AM
Interesting... I was boosting off of the last corner at lunchtime today, then switched to the technique Il_Nik suggested and that helped me better my race time, but only helped me shave 0.06 seconds off of my fastest laptime.

If I hit the BP in the chicane before the jump and hit the BP's after it and at the lip of the jump, I actually try to avoid the single BP near the landing point because that seemed to be taking the edge off of my BR boost. If you land on the left of that BP you can carve the turn nicely to the apex, drifting out to the edge to get the double BP.

I suppose your times are much better than mine, but it doesn't seem logical to avoid the double BP out of that corner when it's there for the taking!

But hey, what do I know?! :dizzy

17th February 2007, 07:01 AM
I'm thinking like you, Robb.
I'm not so sure that fail two BP is the better way to do the time, as well if you take the best line in the last bend.
I voluntary miss the right BP of the fourth curve, but it's the only one, and I turn that bend really close the left, so I run some meters minus.
I'm agree with Asa on the jump: I take it from the left side, so I can close as well as possible the right bend, but catching the double BP.

17th February 2007, 12:24 PM
After that quick kai session last night & 1 hour of 2097 with dag later i saw your bloody 22.87 Nicola :clap and started thinking hmmm and If NiKo was knowing the truth... so i changed the turbo location like you explained in a session of free laps, i did 22.64 , i tried to beat that ghost by my former technique and no success at all. Congrats mate you were right :+
I was also intrigued to see if that new one will be working on phantom as well... on a real flying perfect lap i 'only' made 20.34 : on phantom i am convinced by turbo best location is at the end of the track while finishing turning right.
I won't be surprised too much cause on few other tracks, turbo must be get on different part of the track due to class speed

17th February 2007, 01:10 PM
Damn... :mr-t :cold

You're the best well-driver, we know. :clap

On phantom class I managed a 20,32 with my own technique, and it wasn't a good lap.
I think that with a perfect lap I'll be able to underscore your time (I hope... )

Great challenge this week, though - really enjoyed revisiting Sagarmartha - even if it was in VR style. ;)

18th February 2007, 09:51 PM
Yes it was Rob , thx for competing :+
I will do the report tomorrow after job

Here's the choice of this new week : Exostra Rapier :banzai

19th February 2007, 11:31 AM
I love this track :banzai

19th February 2007, 02:30 PM

I know it's too late for the Sagarmatha times, but here are mines :)

1.36.45 / 0.22.79

Exostra Rapier ? Hmm... I have to train :D

19th February 2007, 02:44 PM
WOOF! :o

Those are electric times, Thibob... what is it with you French guys? ;)

Absolutely blinding speed from all of you. 8)

19th February 2007, 03:27 PM
WipeOut Pure was made for French guys.. :D

Training, that's the solution :) I have to train now, i haven't benn playing WipeOut for 3 or 4 months lol

19th February 2007, 04:54 PM
Hi Thibob,

WELCOME here! :+

Here is just one rule to play into the challenge: If you want to race for victory you don't have to choose Triakis (I don't know why, but it's so)

Ah, the other rule is about timing: we all have a week to run the challenge (but not so strictly, I think that your great scores can be admit here)

Uh, the third rule is also about timing of your records. You have to play its in the same week of the challenge, not from your personal record-list

Then, good race mate :banzai

19th February 2007, 05:20 PM

Thanks for those details :)

In effect, why can't we use Triakis ? It's the same as an other, no ?

So... I have to make the same time with an other team lol :D

Good race ;)

SAGARMATHArapier ---------------------------------- Monday Report

A warm wellcome to our new member Thibob :+ : Enjoy being here fellow citizen, the place definitely you need to be if you love Wipeout and compete into the WipeoutZone tables.
In that topic , we've started a weekly TT challenge based on a gentlemen agreement just the same with the existing WZ tables : no modded psp running at 333, we trust eachothers and we need to describe our lines & where we get the turbo, free laps are also allowed for the best laptime.
We decided not using Triakis , cause we all know that ship is the supership of the game so every weeks everyone will take it and we don't want that, we like the diversity :D .
We are few competing with it and entering our scores into the WZ tables of Pure but we call that: ' the non-official TT challenge' : no price but a big fun with the fattie ship

(...) i will finish that report after dinner BRB

1* Asayyeah : 1.37.29 Icaras --- 1.35.93 triakis
2* Il NiK : 1.37.34 Piranha
3* Alterego : 1.38.21 Piranha
4* Borell : 1.38.75 Icaras
5* Stin : 1.39.51 Icaras

Ok, let's go with "fattie ship" lol :D

19th February 2007, 07:20 PM
Hi All.

...did your dinner be so heavy? i made a little step ahead with my piranha at Sagarmatha with the time of 1.38.01 :D

...but it's the same....my double result as usual ....ah ah ah double third.... ;)

now it's time for Exostra in Rapier.....mmmmh..... :?

A great welcome to Thibob! ;)
Good Velocity to all the wipers!

Read You soon!

I start with Feisar and switch to Icaras... ;)

From the start i pass on all the bp before the first tunnel.
in the start of the first tunnel the ship fly a little and i make br.
pass on all the bp before and after the second tunnel and run as close as possible (for me ;) ) to the S-bend.
after the last bp before the start i boost.....that's all :D

with Feisar 21.92
with Icaras 21.13
with Icaras 22.85
with Icaras 1.28.62 (23.22p-21.86-21.80p-21.74p)

20th February 2007, 08:03 AM
Warm-up, guys :banzai

I missed the last one.. bloody 22.08 :(

Out of challenge - Triakis BL : 20.69

Lol Il_NiK, you're not supporting Italia ? :D

20th February 2007, 05:55 PM
Here is my scores the now,

23.34, 21.30, 22.65, 22.28= 1.29.57

21st February 2007, 01:01 PM
Hi Thibob

yes, I had supported Italia so much the last year, do you remember 9th July?

21st February 2007, 02:03 PM
Hmm.... I only remember the year 1998 ! :D

9th July ? Materazzi.. grr :banzai

21st February 2007, 04:20 PM
Colored posts héhé, why not :) at least it will be easy for me to check the best scores from everyone to do the sunday report :)

Great scores from IlNik & Thibob , since you are becoming the fastest, Thibob, you should describe us what's your lines on exostra rapier and where you exactly get your turbo ( btw amazing triakis laptime i must reckon, congrats :+ )

I ve lowered my previous one at 20.73 & 18.48 for phantom that's all i got atm
-- (...) --
22.94 - 21.41 - 20.58 - 21.57 = 1.26.50

I can tell you guys i've found a new way getting the turbo cause that 3rd lap was totally an accident !! i started that lap like usual, getting the turbo after the last BP of lap2 , no BR crossing the line then, uniquely a BR into the 1st tunnel but missed the left BP going out that tunnel, so i immedialtely engaged the turbo there and did a perfect spine section into next tunnel at great speed and was SO surprised to see flashing on screen :' new lap record '
like Thibob said , sub 20.50 is possible , i definitely agree

héhé NiKola , ** shake hands ** for sharing with you laptime:+
-- (...) --
Ermm i talked too fast i took you the non official lead for 1 pixel hundreth :P
20.57 :paperbag
-- (...) --
20.45 :D

21st February 2007, 04:45 PM
Hi Asayyeah,

I do exactly the same as alterego :

From the start i pass on all the bp before the first tunnel.
in the start of the first tunnel the ship fly a little and i make br.
pass on all the bp before and after the second tunnel and run as close as possible (for me ;)) to the S-bend.
after the last bp before the start i boost.....that's all :D

I use the turbo at the beginning just after the BP before the first tunnel and make a br.

I would add that you will loose time if you boost too late at the end...

Notice that I could have done better for the BL, I missed the beginning of the lap !
It would be possible to go under the 0.20.50, with a long training session :D

If someone want my ghost, just ask ! ;)

21st February 2007, 06:26 PM
You don't get my ghost until I'm dead, dammit. :)

21st February 2007, 08:34 PM
yes, I had supported Italia so much the last year, do you remember 9th July?:(

You nearly make me cry:( My memory stops after Zizou's pretty spot-kick...I agree Thibob, 1998 and 2002 were so much better...

I don't wanna read about football anymore!:(

22nd February 2007, 09:34 AM
Hi mates,

when I presented myself, I told you that I love cycling, that I practiced on high level, montain biking, painting, reading, WOMEN and so on (wipeout too :D )

I told you too "I don't like football".
It's real.
I'm not be interested about football, a sport where supporters catch the others one every time.

My reply to Thibob would be only a real quip (remember lol?)

I'm surprise about your serious reply. But I'm here to beg pardon for something if I didn't write it so clear

Seriously, those facts (9 july), was a shame for football and all sports.

Both Materazzi's dirty offence, and the Zizou's killer butt.

Now we have to believe and hope in a better future sport, but above all, here, in a (mine) WIPEOUT'S LEADERSHIP :D

22nd February 2007, 02:25 PM
Wow nice time with Triakis iL_Nik !

22nd February 2007, 05:25 PM
If someone want my ghost, just ask ! ;)

You don't get my ghost until I'm dead, dammit. :)
Little add-on to Thibob : mate Lance is 63 years old ( correct me if i am wrong :paperbag ) , his soul will float overhere for the eternity :)

Back on topic , got news on racetime & lap ( triakis ) see my edited post :cold

22nd February 2007, 07:05 PM
I have another way to bang my turbo:

starting in the middle of startline (with a turbo boost kicking my ass), I fly over the double pad (sometimes taking its goodness) thanking a lot for the BR, and directing my nose to the right side catching the right pad after a new BR, then I race as smooth as possible until the last bend, taking the bp and finally turbo.

Asa, your way is really inusual, I will try it, but I think that your time is a son of your hands

22nd February 2007, 07:17 PM
i did BR right after the starting-line on phantom everytime but on rapier i feel it very hard to execute, now after those smooth fresh pastas ( farfalle ) , my batteries are full of power i will test that 'unwanted strategy' on a free laps session.

23rd February 2007, 09:14 AM
Hi All.

I'm very sad and tired....aaaargh! my 2gb memory stick is crashed last evening and i hope to find an old bck in my pc hd, but......my HD is crashed NOW!!!! :(

I think about where it's the best use of turbo...mmmh....

Karbon-ish flash ------------------------------ Monday Report

Been late , huh? lol Sorry guys i had a so strange week here in Le Havre, anyway i promised to take part of this one , and i felt :frown: ; to tell the truth i worked on Karbonish all classes with the Fattie :paperbag like Rom said.
I've also learnt a different way for getting the turbo on the low classes ( usually on phantom & rapier , i get it at the top of the hill after the left BP , BR in the air, landing on the flip flaps , re-BR , then straight line, etc... )
For flash i get it differently : on the top of the hill, i sideshift left to hit the BP on the descent , and when the flip flaps start , there's a little bump on the left , that's where i throw the turbo , i BR quickly and land at the beginning of the fractured straight line : mega speed guaranted :+
23.20 / 23.45 / 22.22 / 22.01 = 1.30.88 here's my non official score with 21.77 for the lap

let's stop talking about me , here's the official result for this week where 4 fellow pilots raced on that Karbon-neon track :D

1* Stin : 1.34.98 Icaras
2* Alterego : 1.35.01 Klor

3* Borell : 23.32 Feisar
4* q DMC12 : 27.68 feisar

Congratulations to everyone, i am still impressed how close you are with the racetime :+ Stin & Alterego sharing the Karbon crown : Bravo sirs

On Karbonis.....First on BL! for the first Time, but thank to the absent friends ;) Nik,Asa,Mad before the others.... :D

now it's time for the monkey's 123klan.....in rapier!
For now i want use 123klan...the ship from the track ;)

a BL and a B1L with Klor aka 123klanship...

My strategy is:
start near left to first bp,second bp,third bp. on the small hill in the open track I try to make the first BR. smooth as possible pass over the subsequent BP.
After the tight part of the track i pass over the right bp and boost. in the tunnel i make br and pass over the last bp out of the tunnel.
that's all :)

Alterego, I followed your advices and it works well !

At the moment I only got a BL with the Goteki45, but i'll train tonight ;) : 25.35

Nice to meet you wipers

Hi Dr4G

Nice to see you, welcome on board!! Nice times too! :banzai I am still busy restoring or better said replaying a lot of lost data, because my profile on my memorystick was corupted. Hope to see you soon in TT and the tables.

11th March 2007, 03:14 AM
Wellcome a board Dr4G : always good to hear from you here. I remember you from the jeuxvideo french forum ( unfortunately no time for me to post overthere but i know Del & Kit Yun are still active)

Ouch yeah the TT challenge ! i must enter it , ok gimme a moment i will ;)

I am using for the lap ( free runs) the turbo BR on the Monkey hill
I did 24.73
But i am using the kamikaze turbo BR in the opened section for the racetime
26.35 - 25.43 - 25.12 - 25.49 = 1.42.39
Just before the mini bump i get the turbo and cut the right open section a bit , BR and land before the enter of the left turn.

Done with flying AGS :p

Icaras free lap kamikaze runs : 23.89

11th March 2007, 08:19 AM
Hi All.

Asa sensei 'uber alles' !!! :D

maybe this evening i've a little time for a little start on the challenge and i will use your turbo 'kamikaze' strategy ;)

Sorry for my message using Alterego's account. I hope you'll enjoy yourself a lot during your meeting. But then I want my husband back and really concentrated on his real life. Have a good sunday! L

12th March 2007, 08:37 AM
Hi All.

I test the Asa's Kamikaze's Strategy and it's work well...with Zone i've lowered my time of one second....then yesterday evening I was too much tired in order to try again with Icaras......moreover I have seen the new BL of ASA! Great! ;) :D

Read You soon

@Asa:also I have noticed that using a mixed strategy it can perhaps be made still better. :)

ok! i go!
First lap it's more simple get time under 27 sec if we make asa's kamikaze strategy.
the second and third lap if we make the standard strategy, with br on the hill and the br in monkey's tunnel, we can reach time near 25.00 sec
start the fourth lap with the speedy combination of boost > br in monkey's tunnel > sideshift > bp (possibly the left) it's more similar to a real turbo on the start. the last turn make Kamikaze strategy....i think it's possible reach under 25.00.
i've run on this strategy, but my low skills bring me to real disaster in a open part on fourth turn sigh sigh ......first lap 26.46 second 25.20 third 25.05 fourth......in the water.....aaaargh!!!!

12th March 2007, 05:57 PM
Rom your WZ account has been hacked by your wife !! :clap btw god bless her to restrict your wipeout time for playing because your skill is improving too fast and you're becoming a real threat for convention :cold ;)
123 Klan - rapier ---------------------------- Monday Report

Here we are ! 123 Klan session ended with 6 fellow TT warriors :D
I hope you had fun on it, that's my fav from Omega tracks, it comes from those past kai sessions i did with mate Lunar on that brilliant track finding different ways to get BR ( off topic , i remember being lmao when matey spk & me respawned 3 times on a row at the place : we took off on the low wall after the open area exactly at the same moment : ribs sored again :D .
Enough talking here's 123 Klan Hall of fame for this week :

1* Asayyeah : 1.42.39 Icaras
2* Alterego : 1.43.43 Icaras
3* Borell : 1.44.91 Icaras
4* Rapier Racer : 1.48.83 Assegai

5* Borell : 25.49 Icaras
6* Rapier Racer : 26.78 Assegai

Great fight we had on the laptime :) thx to everyone for competing. :+
Again turbo location is now really important , a good strategy and you win nearly 1 sec per lap : only one solution : testing turbo everywhere and comparing scores : ok this is what practising is aimed for

With Amsterdam convention being very close now, i rather prefer to extend this new sweet TT challenge to monday 26th March

So R wii gooo

LEt's hope you will enjoy this new challenge starting now and finishing Monday 26th of March 6pm GMT

Anyway, well done all ! :clap let's start with Iridia now :p

13th March 2007, 07:07 PM
Hi Dr4g, and welcome to the forum!! I know, I know... quite late, but still... ;)

It is part of the tt challenge to update the post containing ones first result(s), not to spread them all over making poor Arnaud confused and tired when it is time for the weekly summary. :dizzy

Well, I had to rely on a "one session" time again last week. We should have 25 hour days instead! :)

(Remember to end each paragraph with a smiley.) :p

13th March 2007, 07:16 PM
lol Stefen :)
and thx for clarifying things on the updated scores in only 1 post.

Yeah apologize Dr4G, i saw your 1st time and not the 2nd , but i fixed it into the result now :+
I can't count your good racetime for the TT challenge because it's out of time but you can update it into WZ Pure tables. ;)

Hope you will be joining for that next session : Iridia what a sweet fast track:hyper and we have an extra delay of 2 weeks for doing it :)

14th March 2007, 07:27 AM
Yep, it's all my fault for the racetime, not yours :nod

I'll do the next session, and this time i won't be too late for the results :D

14th March 2007, 07:53 AM
Ooh, Iridia!

I want to join for once :P
If only to improve my chicane handling skills.
Now I need to see how crap my times are...:paperbag

Are you punished by your wife, Romano ? You are not allowed to kick our asses, have you played too much ?

27th March 2007, 11:47 AM
HI guys,

like romano, I will take a long time not playing pure cause my first occupation in free time is my favourite sport: bycicle race.

My team mates call me loud :cowboy and want my legs by theirs.

So when I cannot ride on the road I have to train myself indoor (in the evening), and this activity take me a long time to be fit for the races in two months by now.

Be sure that in next autumn I will return on the track stronger than ever and with a kai connection to fight with all of you! :+

Everydays I will read about you by my workplace :D

29th March 2007, 04:42 PM
Ok, I decided to put my scores in but my scores did played while at 35000feet coming home from France ;)

Hi Rom & Stevie! Hi all!

I had a first free lap session with the Icaras today. It's tricky... and in the flash class one has to struggle a little against the floatiness, I think.

Icaras: BL 0.27.77

Tomorrow I might dare to try a Time Trial. :robot

Icaras: 1.53.66 ( 0.28.87 0.28.28 0.29.00 0.27.51 )
Icaras: 1.52.17 ( 0.28.86 0.28.08 0.27.71 0.27.52 ) BL 0.27.31 B1L 0.28.44

17th April 2007, 07:13 PM
Hi Rom and everyone else.

Romano, do you realise that you improved your race time for Icaras (and maybe one of the B1L times) over 23 hours after the challenge had ended? At midnight on Sunday it was still 1.52.24, right? This is an outrage!!! I will tell your wife! :pirate lol

On the other hand, I don't know when you actually got that time. It just seems that you entered it late. :D

Anyway... good time, Rom. I know that you are the faster of the two of us. I was hoping to get below 1.52.00, but never got another opportunity to give it a try before the end of the challenge.

"Let's be friends"
/threatened challenger ;)

18th April 2007, 12:02 AM
Hi Borell, hi all.

...lol....;) oops I have a problem I must secretly make the TT from the wife..... I do not have way to try the Time trial always, but only secretly ..... :D

?.but you have reason. my time in the terms of the challenge was what you have said ....... therefore the just time you are that one of 1.52.24.....excuse me....

I am trying to break 1.52 barrier but my wife breaks off me something else on my head, or takes the sight more low, where ago more evil. :pirate :frown: :cold :D

23rd April 2007, 05:32 PM
Done mate :+ , sorry Stefan :paperbag

23rd April 2007, 06:03 PM
Hi guys!

Arnaud, there are still some mistakes in the list. Romano's best race time was with Icaras (wich he improved further, but too late), and it was 1.52.24. Furthermore, Rom's best lap time, 0.27.22, with the Icaras was added before the end of the challenge, so he was ahead of me for best lap time.

23rd April 2007, 08:06 PM
Arghhh :robot

It's not a secret for ya all, i found in love with that track and be pretty sure under 1.50 is doable with Big T same for the lap ( under 21)
The key is to get at least 2 BR per laps ( for the 2 jumps) and turbo in between the 2 jumps.

AG Sys can afford 2 BR/lap so 10 possible without too many walls being collapsed and 11 if 5PL

here's my current score with it:

Best lap : 21.90 ( not a pl but 3 BRs)
Racetime : 1.56.94 = 24.23 - 23.22 - 22.87 - 23.33 - 23.29

best lap : 21.98
Racetime : 1.53.18 = 24.20 - 22.48 - 21.98 - 21.99 - 22.53

Out of challenge
Big T racetime : 1.51.05 = 23.35 - 21.54 - 21.42 - 22.38 ( start craking under pressure ) - 22.36 ( missing the last 3 boost pads grrr)

27th April 2007, 11:45 AM
Hi Asa, hi all.

The key is to get at least 2 BR per laps ( for the 2 jumps) and turbo in between the 2 jumps.

...Asa Sensei i'm full of doubts about the br strategy:cold :frown:

I see a very large amount of BR possibilities, four very clean...

1 after the start on the little hill after the third bend
2 on the first fracture
3 on the descend
4 before the end after the big bend on the left on the little hill.

i use the turbo in the end on the last big left bend to reach the correct velocity for jump on the little hill and make the last br.

in the end with goteki i make 2 or 3 br a lap, but.......i'm so slow!:frown:

Porto Kora is a bad hell for my little pilot abilities...grrr:mad:

I used your technique Romano previously , but i am definitely convinced when comparing the 2 scores i did separetly that there's 1 faster : I get the best speed when the turbo is throwing on a straight line.

28th April 2007, 10:26 AM
Ya, I'm totally agree with you, Asa.
Bye bye, mates

29th April 2007, 04:10 PM

I took AG sys but only on free-runs : 3rd lap = with many hits on walls no turbo before the line due to 2nd lap at 19.25 but get the turbo in a different way and did with this 19.02 :o so after few other laps i got this now : 18.64 and i am pretty sure we can go below this.
I am using turbo after the end of the long floaty straight section, when the right ( ;) Rom ) bend starts going down, I BR in the air then land on the jump and 2nd BR : Whoooshh:D

....mmmh interesting strategy, but i've some problem to find the LEFT bend in the end of the long floaty straight....... :D i see only a right bend.....mmmmh :D

My strategy are simple start, bp on the rx, on the double chicane i catch only one BP before the start of the straight.
I use turbo in the start of the straight, pass on the rx double bp and lx single bp.
on the right bend i make br and on the jump make a second br then pass over all the last bp (3) and i reach the end line....that's all ;)

now with Goteki i'm to 18.65.....good? :?

I am using turbo after the end of the long floaty straight section, when the right ( Rom ) bend starts going down, I BR in the air then land on the jump and 2nd BR

Did I get this right, you turbo OVER the right bend going down and onto the jump? Isn't that shortcutting??
I'll give this challenge a try tonight. With my beloved Piranha of course.

Turbo simply after the double pad at the end of track (no time to study as well as possible this track)
