Houdy mates!!

My first times on one of the least favourite tracks of Pure, which i honestly don't understand. Is it JABBERJAW who is talking a lot about the floatyness of 2097? This track Burgertown has a lot and i mean a lot of floatyness in itself.

Ok here i go:
Icaras
TT: 0.29.93, 0.27.62, 0.27.14, 0.28.48=1.53.17

One more hour of practice brings me to these new times:
RR 0.28.86, 0.27.48, 0.27.20, 0.27.97=1.51.51
LR 0.26.73

The unofficial Triakis times:
RR: 1.50.71
LR: 0.26.50

Burgertown rocks :rock For me, with the way it feels on fast classes, it really captures the spirit of the series. The art style might not be to everyone`s taste, but I think it`s really well designed, partly because it gets easier the faster you go. The speed pads are very well placed. I agree it feels quite floaty, but I think for good times we may need to keep the ship on the deck as much as possible, and in more places than you might think! ;)

I am being murdered at work until the New Year..... if I get the time I`ll have a go at this one, but I can`t afford to get Sweet-Weekly-Challenge-Addiction at the moment. ;)

Hi everybody! I found some time today to have a go on this challenge. Although you couldn't call me a fan of the omega pack and Burgertown is my most hated track next to Paris Hair on Pure, I've had a few runs. So here are my times so far:

best race time - Zone
0.30.29
0.28.72
0.29.45
0.29.02 = 1.57.48

best lap time - Icaras
0.28.42

I might join you this time around but I'm in the middle of a Lumines game at the moment.

Zone and Medievil are ok for these challenges. Triakis is the only off-limits ship for the official competition, though you can submit "unnoficial" times for it.

I share stephen point's of view on Burgertown that's a track i like racing for all those tricky parts spotted everywhere and also for what matthijs underlined about floatiness.

btw thx again to sir spk for changing my turbo strategy: before his tip , i was launching it before the last mini jump to get a BR but now i am following right side of the jump and get the 2 boost pads.
Turbo is used on the right bend before entering the tunnel so that i can BR and land after the thin passage. If you do it right you can get all the other Bpads.

I haven't tested that new technique with triakis yet, noneetheless here's my Ag Systems score atm:

1.53.26 = 29.64 - 29.06 - 26.77 - 27.79
1.51.81 = 29.09 - 27.98 - 27.44 - 27.30
best lap1 = 28.01 :cold

the 1st one on the straight line right after the start
2nd on the 1st jump
3rd on the 2nd jump and get immediately a BR ( the 4th) after landing
5th on the 3rd jump ( before it i use turbo)
6th on the last mini jump and 7th on the last right bend there's a little bump on the right where you can get enough high to BR again.

Even triakis can't afford 7 BR for 5 laps but i am not saying all the BRs are useful here only 3 maxi 4 would be the best

because to know it he is substantial in order to survive in phantom on this track ;)

for now i launch the boost out of the second tunnel and make only a br on the first fracture/jump after the start....and i make 2.21.....sigh...where is the light/tip? :( :D

Hi Alterego, hi all!

Asa and i are using three BRs per lap with Goteki45. First one after the first corner on the first fracturejump. The second one in the tunnel after hitting the two BPs on the left and the third BR after taking the speedboost on the second fracturejump into the hard curve to the left. You can always try to do a fourth BR directly after the second BR i just describe before, if you are having enough energy. I hope you are understanding me and that you will beat your records and not mine!!!!! Joking, good luck!

On heavyweight ships, pilot size doesn't matter. A Qirex will never notice a difference of a hundred pounds. Or even 200 pounds!

Thx guys :)

yes, Stephen , i ve worked with Anthony during 5 years , we were in the same insurance Companie : that should be a good moment during those next 4 months .

Talking about the last challenge , i found a real new way of improving laptime

the 1st one on the straight line right after the start
2nd on the 1st jump
3rd on the 2nd jump and get immediately a BR ( the 4th) after landing
5th on the 3rd jump ( before it i use turbo)
6th on the last mini jump and 7th on the last right bend there's a little bump on the right where you can get enough high to BR again

That 6th BR is very hard to get cause you can BR and don't have the boost, so i found a new way of getting : very differently :
Actually before that last jump you got a left bend , right?
and before it you got the choice to hit the left or right boostpad : choose the right one
the tip is to cut this bend a little to be able to land on the small platform ( left part of the jump ) : 1st benefit is : no bottoming out before the jump & also when landind after jumping from the platform. I discovered that having a good speed before that 'cut' may get you enough high to allow a BR on the platform ( the boost you get starts on the platform not in the air after the jump : this is the big difference): so you get the boost & the line to the finish is way too easy now.

héhéh Not yet Paris Hair lover here !!

:+ to Paris Hair from me, crazy and amazing art design, perhaps the best of the Omegas for this. I love the idea of the stars on the track surface, and the audio is great, especially the mocking laughter. In terms of track design it`s brilliant too - if it was a city centre track it would be the the track Citta Nuova should have been, if that wasn`t such a disaster. Paris Hair has really interesting corners - particularly the gutsy tight one before the jump that requires you to time it as close as you dare, and the first two long left handers that are quite deceptive, in that you have to hit the apex very deep, and are very similar to the long left at the bottom of the hill on Modesto.

anyway enough about that, I brought out the Burgertown ship for my run on this challenge and my times are:

I'm agree with you. Paris is an undervalued track.Just one week ago I hate this track like many others, but forced to race it by the challenge, I'd learn to love it. There are several tails of track that are hard to race. First the central boostpad after the startline combined with the left bend and the consequential boost before the little hill. This is one of the key-moment. I race this tail of track in several various ways: I think there isn't the right way.
curved strictly on the right or large on the left with the "S" curve like in Citt* Nuova. I know that the more difficult part of this track is after jumpline

Hi everyone :)

Nicola i am racing Paris with 2BR the 1st one near the start, top of the hill, and 2nd at the jump , using turbo right after the split ( going on the right side ). I am not particularly convinced by my technique on Paris as a matter of fact i saw you did an impressive triakis laptime : congrats mate : did you do something different?

Sorry not being present here for giving my score but here's my duty atm :

Yes, Arnaud, I pay attention to do not the BR on the first little hill, I think this isn't a good BR for the laptime, then I give the turbo on the last rectilinear tail of the track before last grat hill.

Happy climbing! :D

I believe we have an unofficial gentleman`s agreement that it`s ok to compete for times at 266mhz, because this is a speed provided in an official Sony firmware upgrade (firmware 3.0 and higher), but 333mhz times should not be entered. This is entirely unofficial though. None of us in this challenge were racing on higher than 266. :)

Here's a tip in case of ... i get the turbo weapon after the long descending straight line, more exactly when the track starts goes up on that right bend : get a BR into the air and you can land near the mini jump after the chicanes.
You should also multi-tap on nose down, this is a good thing to avoid the extreme floatiness of that track.

il_NIK

I think it`s more useful than ever to have a ship with good acceleration on this track, for picking up out of all those slow corners. But I think Goteki is just too floaty, meaning it gets too much height, and too unstable to be totally effective on Sebenco Climb, unless you can use it to get the BR at the top of the big downhill. But maybe the other ships can do this too. G45 is probably the second fastest ship on a lot of tracks, but I think the more stable AGS and Assegai ships could be a better choice than G45 here, but I could be wrong. And then Goteki has a lot of BRs in the tank.... hmmm. I`m not going to race with the Weevil - he only comes out for Omega tracks. ;)

...it's much time I don't upgrade my psp, I'm still at 2.80 or similar, it's from 266 that we have more speed...or what?

Is there someone can teach me?

lunar
16th January 2007, 12:30 PM
Don`t expect amazing things when you upgrade to 3.0X. The only tracks I`m fairly sure are faster on 3.0X are Sagarmatha and Manor Top, which always had a bad framerate and were stuttery. On these I beat my old vector and venom ghosts easily, without playing particularly well. My ship was just faster on 3.01/266. I got a 20.8 phantom lap of Sagarmatha, with a wall hit and a couple of missed speed pads!

But I haven`t seen any difference on other tracks, though I haven`t played my usual amount since upgrading. On most tracks, easily the majority of them, I`m sure there is really no measurable difference in TT. But you might as well upgrade and see what you think. :)

borell
16th January 2007, 12:31 PM
I have experienced some lagging from time to time in 222, especially in the phantom class. So, stepping up to 266 is nice.

I believe that the control response is better when using higher processor speeds, and this makes the racing easier (and faster times). Does the actual speed (of the ship?) increase as well?

il_NIK, nowadays there is a 2.80 -> 2.71 downgrader, and from there you can get to 1.50. No version above 2.80 can be downgraded yet. From 1.50 you can choose to run devhook or to flash any of the special/open edition firmwares. In both cases you can choose processor speeds yourself with the help of additional modules. In the more recent open edition firmwares this can also be achieved without additional modules.

lunar
16th January 2007, 12:40 PM
Though speed differences seem rare to me on 3.0x, I agree about the smoothness. Multiplayer especially seems much smoother when everyone is on 3.0x firmware. Since it came out, we have had many more smooth races on kai with more than 4 players.

i second what said Stephen and tested it with my 2 psp : one with 3.02 FW = 28.9 sec on Citta TT , 2nd with DH at 333 = a low 27... :sonar
my former record at 222 ( FW 2.0) = 29.4
I don't test it on each track, only with Citta i think this test shows an evidence : 333 is faster & smoother but this is not an official FW from Sony so for this challenge and idem for the WZ tables no 333 allowed.

Man, this is difficult! At first I was very frustrated with slow races. With practice I got faster, and got some better lap times as I got used to the track. The next problem, and still a big problem, is consistency in lap times.

Today I changed strategy a little, and managed to lower my race time immediately. Alas, the deviation among the lap times is still way too high...

Here we go:

AG Sys: 2.23.03 ( 0.29.36 0.26.89 0.29.65 0.28.25 0.28.88 )

Update, with less deviation:

AG Sys: 2.20.78 ( 0.28.20 0.28.29 0.28.03 0.28.57 0.27.69 )

Did not come further than this:

AG Sys: 2.20.58 ( 0.28.58 0.27.91 0.27.93 0.27.78 0.28.38 )

OMFG this track is a b*stard at Phantom! My tips for this track would be: keep the nose down at all times, and never hit the speed pad on the right in the tunnel. If I hit this the ship becomes unstable and I`m doomed to disaster at some point in the next five seconds. I really should hate this track for the same reasons as Citta Nuova, but it`s just so mad, and turboing at the narrow straight after the tunnel just can`t get boring. Anyone who thinks Pure has no "floatiness" should enter this challenge. :bat

I need about 5 different ways to take each corner, because you never know exactly how you`re going to end up, and have to decide in about .001 of a second which method to use for the next bit. I was really surprised at AGS lack of performance on here, and that Goteki is good despite being super-floaty, which I thought would cause problems. Well, it does, and it`s very easy to lose a great run because she suddenly decides to roll on her back or head for Sol2......

anyway times:

Goteki 45 2.16.40/26.46

update:

AGS 2.15.50 (27.55/27.50/26.81/26.78/26.86)

best lap: 26.44

Thanks for last week`s challenge - it was scary and :rock. Racing against you chaps is a privilege.:beer Having said that, I have been desperately trying to win a challenge with El`s ship, so that I could write "Kiss my Assegai" in the reason for editing field. And now Asa has only gone and done it, so we`ll have to kiss his Assegoodbye instead, dammit. ;)

I had officially given up on Saturday night, but decided to have the fatal "one last go" on Sunday evening. It didn`t take long for AG to do the business, so I opened the wine and was just on the second glass when Asa reported in with his awesome Assegai time. Congrats to you, Arnaud, but Mad-Ice pushed us to do it. In Goteki that was an awesome time. Far be it from me to quote myself, the Assayator could be watching with his mod-hat on, but if somebody would like to quote post #317 I think my predictions were correct. ;)

About Anulpha, I don`t think dropping off the high route early is a great move in TT, as you lose the speed pad benefits, which is fast if you get them all, and the landing is much harder when you drop off early, costing you more speed, than going off the end. We have recently learned the dangers of too much air and hard landings in TT. So I believe it`s best to take all of the BPs on the top route, and you can get the BR off the end anyway, and it can be done all of the time with practice.

Here`s my tip, (this is only for Alter Ego and must not read by Asa or Mad-Ice, turn away your eyes lads): if you go to the right side of the track just before you drop off the end of the shortcut you have much more chance of making the BR work. Pitching up doesn`t really help much I think, you have to be going fast from the BPs and go to the right, with the BR just before you go off the end. It seemed to work for me anyway.

Ok Asa and Mad you may look again now, nothing to see here 8)

So it's Anulpha Pass Rapier this week - one of my most loved tracks that is! :nod

I think I'll be able to get me a few hours to spare on that challenge this week. So here I am, starting off with Piranha:

0.26.85
0.25.33
0.25.35
0.24.96 (P) = 1.42.49

Best lap time - also done with Piranha, but in Free Play: 0.24.73

I'm still scraping along the walls a little too often. Not even one perfect lap in my racetime. Gotta put some work into that, but I'm pretty happy with my bl. :g

EDIT:
Thanks Asa :). I've updated my best race time with Piranha. I also had a few runs in my Icaras:

0.26.71
0.25.21 (P)
0.25.55 (P)
0.24.92 = 1.42.39

Best lap time - done in Free Play: 0.24.89

I've heard about people claiming :' it's not Sinucit : it's Sinu-**** '
I strongly disagree with that.

Ive been working a lot with Del stepho a year ago on that wonderful track, can't believe the raindrops are so nice to watch ( in a way , you won't have too much time to count the raindrops onto your pspscreen, especially in phantom :D )

Here's Ag SyS warmup :

33.98 - 32.32 - 33.42 - 32.86 - 32.89 = 2.45.47

i am using turbos on the jump at the end , i BR into the air, sideshift left hardly to get the boost pad while the track spilts in 2 ( i go on left side), on the next left bend , i sideshift leftand if it's well done i can hit the left double BP with maintening a high speed, sideshift right for the next right bend , straight line in the middle of the track, no SShift on right bend, try to get your ship over 700 while turning as soft as you can, then the split ( i go on right side) i am trying to get the more inside as i can into the long right curve, hit the BP in the middle don't forget it, then sideshift right ( difficult) to get the BP on the left ( this is important to be over 800 immediately after the BP) before entering the right quite-long spiral : start it from the outside and side shift right when you are at the 'rope' ( hope it's the good word) : you should be able to go out from the spiral nearly at 580/ 600 ( speed before the double BP) after the semi-long straight line, try to maintain the speed as much as you can in this long & tricky left curve before the finishing chicanes : the key is = come into it from the outside and then sideshift violently on left , the 2nd left SShift will be used to hit one of the 2 BP in parallel then if your line is not too bad, i advice you to get your turbo into the chicane as soon as possible , BR into the air and the lap is finished

adding scores...
Piranha : 31.87
Goteki 45 : 31.58
34.21 - 32.05 - 32.33 - 32.51 - 31.58 = 2.42.68

Non official : Big T
33.89 - 32.15 - 31.74 - 31.19 - 32.19 = 2.41.16
33.50 - 32.21 - 31.06 - 32.33 - 31.60 = 2.40.70
30.80 (free laps)
...
33.23 - 30.55 :o - 32.00 - 33.39 - 31.98 = 2.41.15 grrrr
It's not the first time that happend today , i beat my former 30.80 by doing 30.79 into a TT race where i felt miserably at the end of the 2 last laps
best L1 = 32.51
33.55 - 31.46 - 31.86 - 31.96 - 31.23 = 2.40.06

The TT in phantom is literally massacring ...... but not for this 'jet the sponge'….therefore i'm sure that, step by step, I will lower my times with much training...... :hyper :sonar 8)

Hi all! New week, new challenge... I agree with Alterego, that Phantom TT is sweaty and this is one of the tracks I yet have to figure out. :)

Had a session yesterday, but lap times were very unstable (and still is, to some extent). Had my best races with the Cardracer. Today I could lower yesterdays time by two seconds, and almost two more upon switching to the AG-Sys.

Cardracer: 2.54.98 ( 0.35.54 0.35.64 0.34.63 0.34.48 0.34.69 )

AG-Sys: 0.2.53.07 ( 0.35.35 0.34.79 0.33.89 0.35.66 0.33.38 )

Damn that fourth lap! As you can see, none of them are clean runs.

Asayyeah & il_NIK, amazing times!! Alterego, your turn... :p

-----
I thought that maybe I would understand this track eventually, and maybe I could offer some competition to some of you. Sorry, but this has so far not happened. Screw this track. :turd

AG-Sys: 2.51.70 ( 0.35.70 0.34.08 0.33.90 0.33.40 0.34.62 ) BL 0.33.22 B1L 0.34.89

Time to practice another track thoroughly! :coffee

Usually, I have not pushed the limit on a track until I first play it within this challenge. On most of the tracks I have only gotten the gold medal in TT and moved along.

Today I entered Blue Ridge in the Icaras. I Changed to AG-Sys after a couple of races and stayed with it for a long time. When I had difficulties beating my recent records, I turned to Medievil. It did not fit me at that point. After some more races with AG-Sys, I tried Cardracer. No immediate success, but it grew on me. Finally I got better times again and felt quite happy after a good days work. :D

Cardracer: 2.18.88 ( 0.35.55 0.34.54 0.34.00 0.34.79 )

Maybe there is a better boost strategy making a big impact on speed. Right now I barrel roll at the drop, go through the sharp bend, hit the turbo pad and then use my boost. I imagine the boost is prolonged by the next turbo pad, instead of the turbo pad slowing me down when I hit it.

Where do you guys boost?

Great lap time, il_NIK!

Asayyeah
5th February 2007, 09:15 PM
I am boosting at the same location after hit the 1st BP next to right bend.

The starting & finishing chicanes are the most important parts of the track.
1st one when you start , try to get through them without sideshifting & airbraking especially on flash it's easier
For the finishing ones : be as close as possible from the 'inside ' of each bend of the chicane , start with right sideshift on the single BP getting out of from that 1st right bend then sideshift left to cut the left bend immediately after it right S shift and you get one of the 2 BP in parallel

Ag SyS
34.68 - 32.88 - 33.02 - 33.50 = 2.14.08

I had a peek in the records table. 1.37.46! :o It will be interesting to see the times during this week. My first session resulted in:

Icaras: 1.40.59 ( 0.26.13 0.24.64 0.25.74 0.24.08 )

Icaras: 1.39.94 ( 0.25.74 0.25.46 0.24.56 0.24.18 )

With the "il_NIK" boost I get faster laps in average, and thus make faster race times. I did not succeed in lowering my best lap time though. On a really good run--see the second lap time--I should be able to get down to 1.38.5. But... the really good runs are rare. Maybe I'm not that stubborn. ;)

Icaras: 1.39.05 ( 0.25.46 0.25.14 0.24.17 0.24.28 )

Hi mates,

where do you use turbo in Sagarmatha? I use it after the 5th bend (the right bend before the straight-s line).

I think that this one is the most important curve of the track, where you can lose a grat amount of cents if you don't race it at its maximum velocity

borell
16th February 2007, 12:22 PM
Interesting... I haven't really tried much. So far I used the boost after the last boost pads and therefore most of the boost has been during the beginning of the next lap, in effect until I reach the first boost pad.

Hi Nik, hi all.

I use turbo in the same place and i think same as you about this hell bend ;)

but i think that sagarmatha is a strange track, therefore simple and at the same time difficult to make at the maximum of the speed ..... :?

Hi everyone, i don't have score for official competition but working with triakis on phantom and briefly in rapier.

Formely my turbo strategy was based on getting it into the straight line ( half of the track) right after hitting one of the 2 boost pad in diagonal after the right airpin.
But i left this way out and changed for a new location : after the jump i am landing on the right side of the boost pad and try to be as close as i can from the 'inside' of the long left curve , and turbo nearly at the end of it ( i deliberately miss the last double BP) , it's even better than going outside from the curve and hit the double last BP , i tested it several time in phantom

I also missed voluntary a BP , the one which is on the right side after going out from the 1st tunnel : i sideshift left immediately at the end of it to hit the BP on the left with better high speed ( than getting the right and after the left one ) and then sideshift right on the airpin

On phantom i lowered racetime to 1.45 and lap to 20.06 with that technique.
Rapier i get 22.90 after several attempts on free lap then 1.37.31 after 2nd try ( all scores with triakis)
Tomorrow i will enter the official non-triakis sagar

Triakis
25.24 - 23.31 - 23.51 - 23.87 = 1.35.93
22.64

Icaras

Interesting... I was boosting off of the last corner at lunchtime today, then switched to the technique Il_Nik suggested and that helped me better my race time, but only helped me shave 0.06 seconds off of my fastest laptime.

If I hit the BP in the chicane before the jump and hit the BP's after it and at the lip of the jump, I actually try to avoid the single BP near the landing point because that seemed to be taking the edge off of my BR boost. If you land on the left of that BP you can carve the turn nicely to the apex, drifting out to the edge to get the double BP.

I suppose your times are much better than mine, but it doesn't seem logical to avoid the double BP out of that corner when it's there for the taking!

But hey, what do I know?! :dizzy

il_NIK
17th February 2007, 07:01 AM
I'm thinking like you, Robb.
I'm not so sure that fail two BP is the better way to do the time, as well if you take the best line in the last bend.
I voluntary miss the right BP of the fourth curve, but it's the only one, and I turn that bend really close the left, so I run some meters minus.
I'm agree with Asa on the jump: I take it from the left side, so I can close as well as possible the right bend, but catching the double BP.

After that quick kai session last night & 1 hour of 2097 with dag later i saw your bloody 22.87 Nicola :clap and started thinking hmmm and If NiKo was knowing the truth... so i changed the turbo location like you explained in a session of free laps, i did 22.64 , i tried to beat that ghost by my former technique and no success at all. Congrats mate you were right :+
I was also intrigued to see if that new one will be working on phantom as well... on a real flying perfect lap i 'only' made 20.34 : on phantom i am convinced by turbo best location is at the end of the track while finishing turning right.
I won't be surprised too much cause on few other tracks, turbo must be get on different part of the track due to class speed

Hi Thibob,

WELCOME here! :+

Here is just one rule to play into the challenge: If you want to race for victory you don't have to choose Triakis (I don't know why, but it's so)

Ah, the other rule is about timing: we all have a week to run the challenge (but not so strictly, I think that your great scores can be admit here)

Uh, the third rule is also about timing of your records. You have to play its in the same week of the challenge, not from your personal record-list

Then, good race mate :banzai

SAGARMATHArapier ---------------------------------- Monday Report

A warm wellcome to our new member Thibob :+ : Enjoy being here fellow citizen, the place definitely you need to be if you love Wipeout and compete into the WipeoutZone tables.
In that topic , we've started a weekly TT challenge based on a gentlemen agreement just the same with the existing WZ tables : no modded psp running at 333, we trust eachothers and we need to describe our lines & where we get the turbo, free laps are also allowed for the best laptime.
We decided not using Triakis , cause we all know that ship is the supership of the game so every weeks everyone will take it and we don't want that, we like the diversity :D .
We are few competing with it and entering our scores into the WZ tables of Pure but we call that: ' the non-official TT challenge' : no price but a big fun with the fattie ship

Great scores from IlNik & Thibob , since you are becoming the fastest, Thibob, you should describe us what's your lines on exostra rapier and where you exactly get your turbo ( btw amazing triakis laptime i must reckon, congrats :+ )

I ve lowered my previous one at 20.73 & 18.48 for phantom that's all i got atm

22.94 - 21.41 - 20.58 - 21.57 = 1.26.50

I can tell you guys i've found a new way getting the turbo cause that 3rd lap was totally an accident !! i started that lap like usual, getting the turbo after the last BP of lap2 , no BR crossing the line then, uniquely a BR into the 1st tunnel but missed the left BP going out that tunnel, so i immedialtely engaged the turbo there and did a perfect spine section into next tunnel at great speed and was SO surprised to see flashing on screen :' new lap record '
like Thibob said , sub 20.50 is possible , i definitely agree

héhé NiKola , ** shake hands ** for sharing with you laptime:+

From the start i pass on all the bp before the first tunnel.
in the start of the first tunnel the ship fly a little and i make br.
pass on all the bp before and after the second tunnel and run as close as possible (for me ;)) to the S-bend.
after the last bp before the start i boost.....that's all :D

I use the turbo at the beginning just after the BP before the first tunnel and make a br.

I would add that you will loose time if you boost too late at the end...

Notice that I could have done better for the BL, I missed the beginning of the lap !
It would be possible to go under the 0.20.50, with a long training session :D

starting in the middle of startline (with a turbo boost kicking my ass), I fly over the double pad (sometimes taking its goodness) thanking a lot for the BR, and directing my nose to the right side catching the right pad after a new BR, then I race as smooth as possible until the last bend, taking the bp and finally turbo.

Karbon-ish flash ------------------------------ Monday Report

Been late , huh? lol Sorry guys i had a so strange week here in Le Havre, anyway i promised to take part of this one , and i felt :frown: ; to tell the truth i worked on Karbonish all classes with the Fattie :paperbag like Rom said.
I've also learnt a different way for getting the turbo on the low classes ( usually on phantom & rapier , i get it at the top of the hill after the left BP , BR in the air, landing on the flip flaps , re-BR , then straight line, etc... )
For flash i get it differently : on the top of the hill, i sideshift left to hit the BP on the descent , and when the flip flaps start , there's a little bump on the left , that's where i throw the turbo , i BR quickly and land at the beginning of the fractured straight line : mega speed guaranted :+

My strategy is:
start near left to first bp,second bp,third bp. on the small hill in the open track I try to make the first BR. smooth as possible pass over the subsequent BP.
After the tight part of the track i pass over the right bp and boost. in the tunnel i make br and pass over the last bp out of the tunnel.

Wellcome a board Dr4G : always good to hear from you here. I remember you from the jeuxvideo french forum ( unfortunately no time for me to post overthere but i know Del & Kit Yun are still active)

Ouch yeah the TT challenge ! i must enter it , ok gimme a moment i will ;)

I am using for the lap ( free runs) the turbo BR on the Monkey hill
I did 24.73
But i am using the kamikaze turbo BR in the opened section for the racetime
26.35 - 25.43 - 25.12 - 25.49 = 1.42.39
Just before the mini bump i get the turbo and cut the right open section a bit , BR and land before the enter of the left turn.

Done with flying AGS :p

Icaras free lap kamikaze runs : 23.89

Hi All.

I test the Asa's Kamikaze's Strategy and it's work well...with Zone i've lowered my time of one second....then yesterday evening I was too much tired in order to try again with Icaras......moreover I have seen the new BL of ASA! Great! ;) :D

@Asa:also I have noticed that using a mixed strategy it can perhaps be made still better. :)

ok! i go!
First lap it's more simple get time under 27 sec if we make asa's kamikaze strategy.
the second and third lap if we make the standard strategy, with br on the hill and the br in monkey's tunnel, we can reach time near 25.00 sec
start the fourth lap with the speedy combination of boost > br in monkey's tunnel > sideshift > bp (possibly the left) it's more similar to a real turbo on the start. the last turn make Kamikaze strategy....i think it's possible reach under 25.00.
i've run on this strategy, but my low skills bring me to real disaster in a open part on fourth turn sigh sigh ......first lap 26.46 second 25.20 third 25.05 fourth......in the water.....aaaargh!!!!

123 Klan - rapier ---------------------------- Monday Report

Here we are ! 123 Klan session ended with 6 fellow TT warriors :D
I hope you had fun on it, that's my fav from Omega tracks, it comes from those past kai sessions i did with mate Lunar on that brilliant track finding different ways to get BR ( off topic , i remember being lmao when matey spk & me respawned 3 times on a row at the place : we took off on the low wall after the open area exactly at the same moment : ribs sored again :D .
Enough talking here's 123 Klan Hall of fame for this week :

Racetime
1* Asayyeah : 1.42.39 Icaras
2* Alterego : 1.43.43 Icaras
3* Borell : 1.44.91 Icaras
4* Rapier Racer : 1.48.83 Assegai

Laptime
1* Asayyeah : 23.89 Icaras

4* Dr4g : 24.82 Goteki 45
5* Borell : 25.49 Icaras
6* Rapier Racer : 26.78 Assegai

Great fight we had on the laptime :) thx to everyone for competing. :+
Again turbo location is now really important , a good strategy and you win nearly 1 sec per lap : only one solution : testing turbo everywhere and comparing scores : ok this is what practising is aimed for

With Amsterdam convention being very close now, i rather prefer to extend this new sweet TT challenge to monday 26th March

So R wii gooo

HI guys,

like romano, I will take a long time not playing pure cause my first occupation in free time is my favourite sport: bycicle race.

My team mates call me loud :cowboy and want my legs by theirs.

So when I cannot ride on the road I have to train myself indoor (in the evening), and this activity take me a long time to be fit for the races in two months by now.

It's not a secret for ya all, i found in love with that track and be pretty sure under 1.50 is doable with Big T same for the lap ( under 21)
The key is to get at least 2 BR per laps ( for the 2 jumps) and turbo in between the 2 jumps.

AG Sys can afford 2 BR/lap so 10 possible without too many walls being collapsed and 11 if 5PL

here's my current score with it:

Best lap : 21.90 ( not a pl but 3 BRs)
Racetime : 1.56.94 = 24.23 - 23.22 - 22.87 - 23.33 - 23.29

Piranha
best lap : 21.98
Racetime : 1.53.18 = 24.20 - 22.48 - 21.98 - 21.99 - 22.53

Out of challenge
Big T racetime : 1.51.05 = 23.35 - 21.54 - 21.42 - 22.38 ( start craking under pressure ) - 22.36 ( missing the last 3 boost pads grrr)

Hi Asa, hi all.

omissis...

The key is to get at least 2 BR per laps ( for the 2 jumps) and turbo in between the 2 jumps.

omissis

...Asa Sensei i'm full of doubts about the br strategy:cold :frown:

I see a very large amount of BR possibilities, four very clean...

1 after the start on the little hill after the third bend
2 on the first fracture
3 on the descend
4 before the end after the big bend on the left on the little hill.

i use the turbo in the end on the last big left bend to reach the correct velocity for jump on the little hill and make the last br.

in the end with goteki i make 2 or 3 br a lap, but.......i'm so slow!:frown:

Porto Kora is a bad hell for my little pilot abilities...grrr:mad:

I took AG sys but only on free-runs : 3rd lap = with many hits on walls no turbo before the line due to 2nd lap at 19.25 but get the turbo in a different way and did with this 19.02 :o so after few other laps i got this now : 18.64 and i am pretty sure we can go below this.
I am using turbo after the end of the long floaty straight section, when the right ( ;) Rom ) bend starts going down, I BR in the air then land on the jump and 2nd BR : Whoooshh:D

Hi Asa, hi all.

....mmmh interesting strategy, but i've some problem to find the LEFT bend in the end of the long floaty straight....... :D i see only a right bend.....mmmmh :D

My strategy are simple start, bp on the rx, on the double chicane i catch only one BP before the start of the straight.
I use turbo in the start of the straight, pass on the rx double bp and lx single bp.
on the right bend i make br and on the jump make a second br then pass over all the last bp (3) and i reach the end line....that's all ;)

now with Goteki i'm to 18.65.....good? :?

Did I get this right, you turbo OVER the right bend going down and onto the jump? Isn't that shortcutting??
I'll give this challenge a try tonight. With my beloved Piranha of course.

Turbo simply after the double pad at the end of track (no time to study as well as possible this track)
