there was some corrections around air brakes needed. Iam using 160 g/ m2 card stock paper for this little AG crafts & water based glue .... the white one . :)

Amazing, simply amazing. Do you own WipEout Pulse, alien99? If so, are you good with the skin designer? I make Ace Combat skins sort of as a living, but I made a Pure Icaras skin one other time. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to use it yet because I don't have those darn DLC packs.

Thanks for your dedication alien99, your pure models are awesome. I've downloaded some ships, tried to build the AG, failed miserably but I won't fail with the beautiful Icaras when I'll have time to build it. Your website is fantastic, I really hope you'll get some rewards for your work at this sci-fi competition tomorrow. You deserve it, at least for this crazy pure ships collection. As Arnaud said, I'm just stunned.

I really need to get the appropriate materials to build these, my Icaras fails miserably in comparison to yours. :/ I know you already told me what you used, just gotta find the post again. Might help me get my mind off things, so cheers for the great papercraft :)

So today, I'm going all Blue Peter on myself, and gonna try make me an AG-S out of paper!

If it works out for me, I'll post pics here... If not, I'll edit this post and go offtopic to save me some embarrassment!

I haven't actually started yet... don't laugh! Ok - I'm still deciding which ship to make first... I'm stuck between the AG-S and the EG-X... Hmmm...

(excuses are never quite reasons for not doing something you said you would)

Bah, I tried - it's harder than it looks... maybe once I've got my patience hat on, I'll give it another shot!

Hey why has this project stalled?!!! :(

defor
11th May 2010, 04:41 PM
Probably due to the diverging directions and the general length of time this project's run for...

I've still been experimenting with papercraft wipeout and have been playing with a server script that interfaces with pepakura designer to automate the output of wipeout pulse user skins to papercraft.

I'm kind of a late-bloomer to this website. I found Alien99's papercraft websie, and have already built every model he has on there. Are there any plans to finish the collection? It looks like there's still a lot of models to make, and I love putting them together. Any news?

(Deleted some from original post, wasn't important to my Q)

Where can i get the big racetrack that they are standing on? Are they on your website? And also the signs in the background, would love to have them :P

@Windwalker; i think he is working on them but slowly, but i think they take a while to design them, and he is likely to have other projects to. My best guess is that he will post here when he is doen with a new AG-craft :)

I haven't tried making the paper craft models yet.
Since I have got into other mediums, namely Brass and Polymer Clay, both materials you can work with at home without any specialized equipment.
I think I should be able to directly transfer the dimensions of the paper craft models into polymer clay [actually I know you can directly transfer photo copies of anything onto Polymer clay/ like a photo etc, so all the detail can be kept], and you can get any effect you can think of with that stuff once you know how it handles.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polymer_clay
Just Google any Polymer Clay forum to get the heads up on how to make this material look like anything you want it to.
So a hard, durable set of models could be easily made using the same paper model templates.
Just bake in the oven at 275 for 30 minutes and glue together. :)

It's a very cheap medium to work with as well. :rock

Hey, I want to make sure you haven't forgotten about us. I looked at the dates for the Sulaco competition, and those days have past. Are you going back into making the WipEout Pure papercraft now? I'm just really impatient. Also, if AT ALL possible, can I request the WipEout Pulse EG-X papercraft with my HD skin as an alternative design?

I can get you more pictures than this if needed. Thanks SO MUCH in advance

I´m really sorry for all wipeout fans. Some time ago I´ve started my own series called ASTRO RACERS. it is wipeout based universe with my own design. I am totally free in idea - shape - final craft design and it is awsome. In this case i am not the game craft copymaker only.

Since the day of my first wipeout models, my building papercraft process also changed. From Now on it is more complicated to do a really good model, but the paper sheet is now in hi-res form.
I hope that all my new papermodels will make you happy, although they are not from wipeout universe.

Good work, Jan, I love that you've been inspired by the WipEout series, and those models look really great. Though I am obligated to ask, any chance on finishing the Pure models, as those were really fantastic to construct and well made, as of course all your models are. :)

By now, the project is dead on a glance, but I looked on the website and found a few of them finished. I was kindly surprised to find out (by looking at the model sheets) the author has made lots of models for ABC magazine, which I was subscribed to for quite a few years before I outgrew it.

It's nice to know I'm not the only Czech fan of Wipeout series, though I keep getting that feeling. I'm just saddened he did not make a Piranha, but I like Assegai and AG too :) I might even try asking him in our native tongue if he could possibly consider coming back to this project or coming over to Fury or SSGX models. Though I guess that by now, he has better (and more profitable) things to do.
