Awright so I finished these two mixes not too long ago and I though some of you who were into the Wipeout soundtracks might enjoy some of what ive come up with. They are not as "professional" as I would have wanted it to be (I only used Itunes and Windows Movie Maker to make them!), but I think it will give me an idea on how to set one up.

My first mix has got alot of classics on it, most you might have already heard. I have edited some of the tracks so you might not be hearing the whole song, but look out for a few clips from 2001: A Space Odyssey that I put in there along with a soundtrack cue.

yo man, i'd rather not call it 'mixtapes', rather compilations of tracks, cause a mixtape is something different, but i guess the lineup of the tracks is pretty fine, i downloaded the first part, i'll have listened to it.

plus, a word of advice -

get yourself a Virtual DJ, or atomixmp3 software. Mix all your stuff in it. If you have two soundcards you can set the monitor on the headphones output of one soundcard and the master output on the wave out of the other soundcard. Or if you have a card with a 5.1 output (like SB Live 5.1) you can use both master and monitor with just this soundcard (just switch it to 4.1 and plug the stereo to one jack and headphones to the other one, can't remember which ones they are now, but it's pretty simple to figure it out). Live mixing is so much fun man, you just have to try it out.

As far as wipeout inspired DJ Sets or mixtapes - i've recorded a lot of them, and i decided to finally record one set, which would be the essential one. Using Numark TT200 decks, reloop scratch and with little help of midi keyboard i'll record a set just now. Results later on. Peace!

this is starting to get interesting :) i listened to tons of music, i own tons of cds plus a box full of games with another bunch of great BGMs, so i definitly will look out for a easy-and-good-results mixing soft. any suggestions?

right after listening to the first half of mixtape one i wanted to say forget about dre ;-) i did know all: fatboy, prodigy, leftfield, fluke, orbital, photek, dust bros, tcm, bt and juno reactor ...so i could have made the playlist easily myself almost :P but thx nevertheless

well, no, not actually, but i tend to use 'Shem' or 'Shout Trunk', you can use whichever you want. I wish I came up with something more appropriate than Shout Trunk, it's cool tho.

Glad you liked the set :)
