First off, I like star wars. episode one had horrendous parts as well as amazing parts(lightsaber battle). Definitely the worst of the 6, but still watchable for me(not very good dialog quite a bit. Episode 2 had much better dialog(except the love scenes which were poor). Overall, a much better movie, but not as good a fight scene as episode 1 as far as lightsaber duels are concerned. Episode 3's plot is great and it comes together nicely. I never found myself cringing at the dialog at all, and was really interested in what was going to happen next throughout the movie. the fighting was the best I have ever seen by far, yes even better than the matrix albeit different. No forced fake moves and very realistic moving. I give this movie an A. And yes I like it just as much as the old versions of star wars.

Wow... that's quite some praise for it.

To be honest, I've been that deflated by Episode one and two that I'm not even bothered if I see the third one or not. I hate the way that it's been diluted to the lowest common denominator for the kiddie audience, just so he can sell more merchandise.

And I don't buy Lucas' excuse that they were *always* meant to be for kids. Kids movies generally don't have peoples arms being chopped off, good guys executing bad guys in bars, or people being frozen solid.

I just got back from it about half an hour ago
the dialogue in some of the "romance" scenes was appalling, so bad I had to avert my eyes from the screen in shame for the terribleness of it
overall it is definitely the best of the new trilogy, but they still have at least one retarded monkey in front of a typewriter on the scripting team
the best comparison I have encountered is that it's about as believable/compelling as the dialogue in porn.
once again that's only the "romance" scenes

the cg shots and most of the cg characters (esp grievous) are a hell of a lot better than they were in the last film, I would like to have seen more use made of grievous

anakin was a lot less whiny which can only be seen as a good thing

watching clone wars fleshed it out a lot, I'm glad I had seen all of that cartoon :)

should you bother? yeah it's good entertainment, and the terrible dialogue in a few scenes is more than compensated for by the much higher calibre of the rest of it.
warning though, some scenes/shots make it not very kiddy friendly at all, which kinda throws other parts for a loop as they are obviously designed for much younger viewers
it's like he tried to hit two age targets, and instead of hitting somewhere in the middle, he hit them each with a weaker shot

Jar Jar: Yousa go to Gunga City!!!

Mace: English! Do you speak it,mother#%^&**?

Jar: Yousa go to Gun-...

Mace: I dare you to say yousa again! I double dare you,mother#$%^&*..

Jar Jar:....yousa scary...

*Mace rams lightsaber through Jar Jar's shoulder*

Oh yes,I completely agree that the dialogue was bit...disturbing on some parts. There were some parts which were funny and light (damn those separatist droids) yet there were darker battles which contrasts it. At the very least, this was the more satisfying out of the aberration that was AOTC.I enjoyed it,it wasn't excellent in some parts, the lightsaber battles were better than expected, better than the Duel of Fates.

"I...hateeee...you..." <<< Wow.I'd pay again and again just to hear that.

Jar Jar made we want to die. I watched Ep1 again in preparation for Ep3 and I had a real hard time getting through it. It's got a couple of decent moments but, in my opinion, that movie is atrocious. But the '"comedy" of Jar Jar was unbearable. The fart jokes etc. Awful. Ep 2 was better but the humour again was bad. They removed Jar Jar but destroyed C3PO with awful stupid puns. Not funny.

Ep3, well there was a surprise. I had no problem with the humour. Weird - they turned the battle droids into a silly version of Team Rocket and I actually enjoyed it. I laughed. C3PO was back to being himself which was lovely too.

I have to say, I really enjoyed Episode 3. Much more than I thought I would. It's a massive improvement. It's still not without issues but I really enjoyed it.

watched Epsidode III yesterday and was really surprised.
I'm sure the original english version is better (watched the english trailer and the voices are so much better than the german ones).
But so or so I really like it. All is very dark and I like to see the design of Ep IV etc. was coming back. There are also alot of parts I had not expected. Things that made the story more interesting.
I will go to cinema next week or the week after that to watch it again :D

one thing that annoyed me was the use of the word "youngling".. it's like they just stuck it in there to sound posh... gargh.. wound me up.
Also, is it my imagination or does Anakin always signify his dark side by looking through his eyebrows...
Overall a much better film than all the other prequels.. I guess the darkness of it all made it so.

One last thing.. I don't know if anyone can confirm this and it's not that significant a scene to be considered a spoiler. At the beginning of the movie, when the chancellor, obi and anakin are returning to the senate buildin (just before the padme tells anakin she's up the duff) the ship lands on a multi level platform... did anyone notice a Millenium Falcon on the platform directly below? Could be imagining things but I swear it looked like it!

Episode 3 was the better of the new trilogy by far. It was a shame to see they still couldn't work out the love scene but hey, I was all for the darkness of the film. I also wished he hadnt had tried to aim for two target audiences but oh well. Very good film and a nice way to see off the movies. I'll bet you in 20 quid someone makes the last three movies!!!

from a technical side, this movie truly is great. In ways of finding the connection to the old parts, it's very good. Story-wise it is good, if a little overcrowded, they really overdid some parts of the story. Dialogue-wise, man, I don't know what to say, I just hope George Lucas never does a movie without the big special effects... I'm surprised that good actors like Samuel L. Jackson even agree to speak these chunky, childish lines.

I give it a 5 out of ten, which makes it the best of the new episodes BY FAR.

did anyone else ever think that mace windu moves too damned slow?
with his saber he looks positively lethargic compared to the others... it was the same in ep2 in the arena

Yup Lion, you're right. Being an experienced martial artst I can tell you that Mace does move very slowly in both ep.2 and 3, which completely spoils the entire image of him being the more warrior-like Jedi master. I mean, Samuel J. is about as dextrous as a moose on rollerskates, so why pick him for the part?

What annoys me most is the clumsy fight he has with Sidious and then he WINS!? Then Sidious goes off and chops a few things up with Yoda going twice as fast!? In reality Mace would first get completely aegd by Sidious, who would then be cut to ribbons by Yoda.

Hey! You're the ones who brought the topic up. Don't tell me I'M the one who's nerdy!

Allright, I'm a nerd, I can live with that. As long as I'm a martial-arts nerd and not a Star-Wars one I'm fine.

yes!! You can see it. Watched EP III again (man, I think I will go to cinema a 3rd time - this movie is f*cking amazing) and "scanned" the screen. I did not see it (I was too slow  ) but one of my friends saw the Falcon. :)

I saw the ship, but keep in mind, that the Millenium Falcon is not a single ship, but just a "modded" transporter. :)

Oh and by the way, I totally agree with all the good things that have been said about Ep 3. I hated Episode 1 for what it did to the SW universe and thought Ep 2 was...OK. But 3 got me thinking: THIS is why they invented the big screen! :)

I've watched the movie last week and I agree that this one is the best of the new trilogy...but i was disappointed from (few) things...perhaps we needed more than 2h to explain a lot of things...and to have more time to learn about Anakin step to the dark side.
I think i can say (without spoiling) that Darth Vader is too few on the screen! ;)
(and, as also a friend of mine said, where's Empire Background Music? :) )

I've read that Lucas wants to do a tv serie who will link the new trilogy with the classic...well i hope to have more info about Star Wars world.

Special effect: I really can't understand how people can watch this movie (or movies like Lord of the rings) on a tv/pc screen from a ripped version (i read about a leaked version on bit torrent before offcial relese)...it's a pity!

Ben

The Millenium Falcon is a Corellian Light Freighter.
The "Light Freighter" class is a kind of "in joke" in the Star Wars universe, because they're the workhorse starships that are generally so heavily modified that two people with the same base ship will end up with totally different craft once they're done with the modifications and additions.

And that's enough for today from the "more than you wanted to know" department. 8 )
