Confusion

I played this again last night, and its startling how many of the basic concepts are similar to those in wipeout.

Maybe you guys already played this or have it... I might put this up on my webspace for download. I believe that this may have inspired Psygnosis to create Wipeout...

I mean it's got weapons, it's got an antigravity ship, you got weapon pick ups and you even got Mandrashee style loops.

And it was a freeware title from Bullfrog way back in 1995!

me too. it might be available at Home of the Underdogs. i'll have to look, but it sounds familiar.

they do have it, i don't know how complete it is. but in any case, the site is so slow right now that it takes minutes to load a page, much less load a program. they must really be overloaded.

I'll be storing it on my Web space pretty soonish... It's about 1 meg so you would be able to take it to work/home with ease...

i've got it from Home of the Underdogs, which is working properly now. the zipfile is 1152 KB. so it must be the same version you have. i ran it for a few minutes last night, but haven't played it enough yet to know if i will like it. opinion will show up eventually.

Is this game any relation to Hi Octane?

Or perhaps Hi Octane was the US name for the game.

Because Bullfrog also made HO for the PC in 95, and then for the PSX in early 96.

Oh, and jmoid, The Underdogs are still around.

It's just that their old url fell victim to the old "wait until your url expires, take it and redirect it to some porno/land of popup ads site", and then hold it for ransom, and make you pay up $500+ for it if you want it back.

Unfortunatly, it's legal, and happens all the time. :

They're at:

http://www.the-underdogs.org/

now.

nope, it's not the same game at all. i have both of them.

thanks for the change-of-addy. the hyphen makes all the difference. going to the old one, all i got was a forbidden-access page.
